I’ve had a close friend who until last week was still active with the Church. Because of our friendship I’ve keep my identity hidden so as to not create issues for him while in the Church. Now that he is out, I no longer have any current friends who can be manipulated by the Church so I’m free to say who I am.
My name is Ron Minor. I first became involved with Scientology in 1974. After a year as a public I joined staff in Las Vegas where I remained until 1983. I did rejoin staff in 1990 but could not handle it anymore and left in 1992 for good.
My basic story is pretty average for anyone that has been in a Cl V org. I’ve held many technical posts and been to Flag twice, 1st for the Staff Section Officer training (6 months) and 2nd for the Pro TR’s pilot (was told would be one week which turned into 2 months before I created a PTS situation in order to get back home.)
Never had a desire to join the sea org and after being at Flag was thankful that I never had joined. Did have a few interesting experiences while on staff in las vegas. The week that Quentin was discovered unconscious in a car had the GO and the org in quite a stir. Another time when I had one of Nibs daughters come into the org asking to meet her grandfather LRH. Our Commanding Officer, Bob Harvey was quite a character. I heard towards the end of his Sea Org days, he would dress in the full costume of a Bishop (of the catholic church) and claim LRH had assigned him the post of Bishop of the COS.
It’s nice to be fully out now and if anyone from old LV org is on the board, I would love to hear from you.
