For New Scios OUT: How OSA flies on the Net

The bottom line is we are all a bunch of sapps.

We were when we got into Scientology and we still are to some degree.

I came to the conclusion some time ago that I am not as smart as I think I am.

And I prove that every day.

It will behoove us to all just take a deep breath and a time out and rethink why we are here.

I think we will be pleased with the answer.

The Anabaptist Jacques

I think you're as smart as you think you are...
I just don't think you're as smart as I think I am...:roflmao::hysterical::dieslaughing:

I'm sorry, I just couldn't stop my fingers from posting that. It's all their fault. They just didn't grasp the irony.

So, anyway, getting back with the program......

Please excuse this being so long: Pete asked me to do a write up on this on SPs'r'US, so I thought I'd share it here on Exscn for new peeps out or anyone who hasn't read this, re OSA and their Goals re the Net:

$cientology OSA (the office of special affairs...whose public "purpose" is PR and Legal...and who sekretly DO, often not known to the members, still use "Fair Game". Proof? Go check out their hate page: ReligiousFreedomWatch. There are TONS Of lies up there about myself and others, and they (OSA/$cientology) REFUSE to ever even hear our side). An amazing side note that most peeps do not know is that truly and honestly, until THE DAY I was leaving and "Someone anonymously cancelled your van to the airport" <<<That was THE 1st time a glimmer of light came in that maybe they DO actually do this Fair Game the critics had told me about for so long. I had stood up in Court against Margaret Singer saying that is not true, "FG was Cancelled". (Which is not true, just the name was cancelled and I'm sorry to Margaret Singer and anyone else where I told them I was 'sure' they did not. They DO use Fair Game, extensively. :omg:

This is a write up about a small, sekret group I was a part of in the 90's. I was invited "in" by my auditor (counselor) and then best friend, Bill Yaude. I only did any of this as I trusted him, and he told me he would NOT tell me what they were doing with the phony accounts because: "The critics are super evil and they will get you in deposition forever, and you don't want that, do you Tory? So I just won't tell you and then you can honestly say "I don't know". (Plz remember this was in the mid 90's...so the Net was NOT used as it is, today in 2013. Also, Scientology did scare people into NOT LOOKING, and they no doubt still do, today).

He asked me to open up some 'anonymous accounts' (Years before "ANONYMOUS" ARRIVED) to "handle the critics on the Net". This, he told me, was "Top Secret" and "Run out of OSA Int: the top dogs in OSA.
I met the Sea Org guy there many times who 'ran the program": Gavino Idda.

In a nutshell, I later found out their top 3 goals, which no doubt are still being run on the Net.
1) DISTRACT off of ANY "HOT" topic..especially if it's re Hubbard, DM or the "church" sekret activities.
2) DEGRADE any and all activists they do NOT want listened to, which most certainly includes "Divide and Conquer". (Get the critics fighting amongst each other was a KEY goal.... Yaude had created 10 different identities. He told me: "I have been on the Net since the DAY ARS began".(the 1st Newsgroup where Scientologists were posting things they did not want known). Yaude would play these identities one against the other until FINALLY a "real critic" would bite. Once that happened, he'd leap up: BINGO! I asked, "Bingo what?" He: "Once a real critic bites...we're set. They'll be fighting amongst each other for days, if not weeks: Let's go EAT" <<< True story.
3) "SLIME THE AREA SO NO ONE WANTS TO EVEN PUT THEIR NAME THERE". (If you don't think this is possible, go check out ARS: a wasteland. OCMB--used to be "hot"...now only a few post there).

I had personally watched Nancy Many 'go insane' and Bill Yaude told me (and plz don't laugh--again, remember a) this was my friend ..my best friend who I trusted beyond belief and b) He tricked me saying "She went insane because she was READING THE INTERNET" So was I going to look after that? HELL NO! (FACT is $cientology had Drugged her and reverse audited her! See "My Billion Year Contract"...her book telling her side of the story). But....Gavino kept acting like someone from the Mafia, and finally one day I decided to go LOOK at ARS. That day, this OSA group had "Spammed" all of the page, posting Baking recipes. In between were critics saying: "I DID NOT SAY THAT: SCIENTOLOGY IS CHANGING MY WORDS."

Stunned, I (who does not get scared easily) suddenly found myself very scared! They were stopping free speech, and I am a free speech advocate. (I know, ironic, eh?) The fear came because I am 15 minutes from OSA and suddenly I realized this went a lot higher than I thought...and Gawd knows what they'd do to me IF I 'woke up'. The rest of that story you can find at www.youtube.com/ToryMagoo44 Or Google "Tory Talks to CFI"

People will say: "I don't care about OSA". Really? Then you don't get how this sekret group works, nor do you get why many, many peeps have "just left". Sure---some will leave on their own. However, I'd put $$$ on it that OSA has been in there working people over, spreading a little of this shit, a little of that until all of a sudden either the person leaves OR they turn on good critics.

So there ya go, Pete, and anyone new who has not ever seen this. Sorry it's so long. Love to ALL ! And oh! How can you tell if it's a 'real critic' or a fake one? Easiest way is ask them to call you or meet with you. OR does anyone know this person---aka: Has anyone MET this person? Many will say they "know Bill Yaude/aka: One of his 10 identities" I promise you NO ONE has ever met with any of them. Thanks to you ALL for helping expose this sick, insidious organization. No---I do not "Think everyone is OSA": That's another of their BS programs, proven by "For Your Eyes Only" 2006 program about me, a 25 STEP Program to slime me on the Net, slime me with the Media and get me fired from my job: EPIC FAIL ON ALL but it Still shows what they *really* do behind our backs. And they call us "1.1" LOL~ :eyeroll:

Happy New week for us, and OSA OPS: You've FAILED AGAIN. :bricks::bricks::bricks::bricks: <<< their "Stats" AGAIN!
To ALL Here :bighug:

Oh please. :melodramatic:

Both those individuals arrived at ESMB as official VIPs. Karen DLC was the PR/Propaganda person, Mike Laws, it seems, as I have recently discovered, operated mostly behind the scenes.

This established a kind of caste system, with a few "VIPs," an inner circle, and the great mass of common folk.

Many people left, most quietly. To remain was to agree to "get with the system."

Within the "system" there was a wide range of views that was acceptable, so one could get along pretty well, as long as one knew when to keep one's mouth shut.

It was a very destructive period, and the harm lingers. Mentioning it can be, to say the least, unpleasant. It's a taboo topic.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I was one of those classified by the two newly arrived VIPs, mentioned above, as an "SP" or its equivalent. Things, for me, on ESMB, would never be the same after that.

ESMB is still a unique place, and an important place for people leaving the Cof$, and a newbie can arrive here and none of this past manipulation and past drama will affect them. So ESMB still works, and still helps people, IMO. Thank goodness. :)

Interesting post.

Revelatory.

I would imagine that if one were to examine the number of thank you's and likes you would be in the higher echelons.

If this were a democracy, you would already have reached Poster Pantheon, that Great Body in the Sky.

Most of us appreciate your incredible skill, perseverance and intelligence as a researcher.

Course, you tend to have a thin skin and go after anyone who might not respect your Poster Pantheon Pedestal.

(Veda is never wrong. Never. And those who would suggest such or disagree be damned.)

Not so admirable.

One of the questions that I've had since arriving here is whether Veda actually believes he isn't prone to making nasty digs at those who disagree--even those who express appreciation for his work, only displeasure at his digs.

I never, til this moment imagined anyone thinking that Karen had come in establishing a new caste system. Nor Mike Laws. I saw people who were hungry for information showing appreciation for her, much like happens when someone who has actually worked with Hubbard shows up here. We're mostly curious.

Then I saw the furious attacks on her for not agreeing with the party line.

When Cowboy started posting, I noticed you taking digs at some posters for kissing the king's garments or some such comment. Came across as piqued by jealousy.

So, my curiosity is whether you are actually aware of what you're doing and have a vigorous attack never defend mentality coupled with a need to PR away discrepancies, or what.

Re: Here's what's outta whack

I agree that too much hero worship is not a good thing. I rarely participate in such things.

But, I will present a different angle on this.

When I look around at life, the world, and people I am forever and increasingly amazed at the sheer variety of the quality and quantity of intelligence, creativity, imagination, and hard work. I admire, respect, and appreciate these things in all their many forms, whether it involve music, writing, dance, building a company, raising a child, or . . . anything. The variety of ways that the spark of creative life flows through humanity, and through each human being, continually impresses itself upon me. I am grateful to be here, and to be able to experience this as it manifests through all others.

So, when I look at what Karen does, or what Veda does, or what Hoaxie does, or what Magoo does, or what Emma does, or what Marty does, or what so MANY others do here on ESMB and elsewhere, I DO consider them to be "little heroes". I do NOT "worship" them, but I do admire them for the extra they do and add. A few days ago TAJ wrote a brilliant post on how Scientology exists as a Nietzschean cult. Just as so many others here, he does what he does in a very unique and special way, in a way that no other person does, and that adds wonderful flavor to ESMB.

I was reading a few posts by TGI this week, and I really noticed and appreciated how incredibly perceptive and intelligent the information was (and also how perceptive and intelligent the poster was).

I don't mean to leave anyone out, as there are so MANY posters who add a SPECIAL and UNIQUE angle to what is discussed here.

At one extreme I truly feel a connection with all other people, and I see myself in them, and them in me. On THAT level we ARE "all equal". But, this equality thing can pushed too far. In fact, no two people are equal, not ever, not in terms of their unique blends of strengths, weaknesses, experiences, views, and so forth. Equality is largely an idea that does not exist anywhere in nature. On the physical plane, where all things suffer from the cycle of birth and death, there cannot be found one example of "equality". Equality factors in when one moves towards the spiritual.

But, from another view, I also very much recognize the individual brilliance of certain individuals here on ESMB who do jump out above the rest due to their own unique blend of creativity, intelligence, wit and so forth. While I don't worship Hoaxie, I do very much recognize his added special contributions to ESMB, and I have no doubt that compared to others, he has helped a great many more people break through their own Scientology layers of mental confusion than most others. I have no problem recognizing unqiue excellence. I think to deny it is a bit . . . of a form of denial.

In the same way, while I don't worship Veda (and consider him "God"), I do very much admire and appreciate all of the work he/she has done to put together the "public service announcements", and the time he/she takes to post them in appropriate places on threads. That activity, in its own way, goes beyond the call of duty. I have no doubt that many a lurker has been helped by those activities.

No single poster possesses or present the "complete picture" or the "whole truth" (though at times some seem to think that they do). Each presents an aspect, an angle, or a certain unique but limited view. But, some views have more in terms of quality and quantity than others. It just is what it is. Some may disagree.

There are so many here who add a special something through their own unique combination of hard work, care, intelligence, experiences, and creativity.

I recognize all, but also, I recognize those who "take that extra step" and "do a bit more than the others". Focusing too much on individual achievement can turn into hero-worship, but also, failure to recognize individual excellence is equally flawed. Some do more than others, here and elsewhere, and without judging that in any way, it is a fact.

By the way Claire, I entirely agree, that when I meet any person in person, I treat them as any other person. Any thought about who or what they are is quite meaningless to me. As an example, many years ago when I drove a taxi in NYC, I often picked up really BIG celebrities (Bull Murray, Liza Minelli, etc.). I NEVER even let on that I knew "who they were". I just talked to them, with whatever they wanted to say or talk about. With Liza, at the end of the ride, which was fairly long, I gently let on that I knew who she was. She actually THANKED ME for NOT filling the conversation with puffed up ideas about WHO she was. She aid that she felt so GOOD that I talked to her just like any other person, without all the adoration and hero-worship. I actually, went out of my way NOT to mention that I knew who they were, as it seemed to always make them more comfortable.

Love this post.

I love transcending the mundane...

and actually feel no qualms about worshipping those who provide the means to do so.

Whether it's someone I see running gracefully along the road, or an author, or a woman sharing a moment with her child in the store.

A hero to me is someone who had the courage to transcend the mundane. He or she didn't let natural fear stop them. They pushed through to accomplish something beyond.

There are moments like that here on the message board when someone transcends the mundane.

Fame has nothing to do with it.

It's enjoying and celebrating the best in life, where ever you find it.

I am very saddened that the OP got distracted.

What Magoo started should receive a renewed thread with relevant posts

Either by moving the distractions to a different thread, or by simply MAGOO'S OSA THREAD REDUX.

A VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION LINE GOT SIDETRACKED.

And Veda, I went back and found 2 wtfs on you in over 105 pages of lols/likes/thanks. And a disagree or two. I may have missed something. That is a lot of stuff to look through. I did find a few errors, a handful of disagrees (and 1 wtf) on people I had no recollection ever disagreeing on/with (or wtf'g), and when I checked, they were funny posts, and I am sure I meant to hit lol/like. I have this kindle that I hate typing on, but thought was fine for clicking likes/lols/thanks - and sometimes a disagree or wtf. I think my thumbs are too big, and I have goofed a few times, so I apologize to those posters. Oops. I fixed those, undid the bad and clicked LOL. Also, I have discovered that if the light hits the touch screen wrong, other things get clciked. Oops. I will be more careful.

But when I looked at the wtfs on you, I did not unclick them, as that is what I meant. All regarding all this indy osa alanzo finger pointing at others thing. I think the wtfs and disagrees I gave to him, quite few this last week, and you, 2 wtfs and 1 or 2 disagrees, were all earned. ...

Very nice thread, lots of worthwhile stuff to read from a lot of peeps, I am most impressed.

Just wanted to comment on this from the OP:

"People will say: "I don't care about OSA". Really? Then you don't get how this sekret group works, nor do you get why many, many peeps have "just left". Sure---some will leave on their own. However, I'd put $$$ on it that OSA has been in there working people over, spreading a little of this shit, a little of that until all of a sudden either the person leaves OR they turn on good critics."

The problem with this is that is in my opinion that, if you start seeing OSA all over the place it can very easily lead to forum paranoia and Internet Bullying(I'm NOT talking about what is going on between Alanzo, Emma, Veda etc)

What I try to do is that I try to look at what people post and why they do, and just leave it at that.

I don't see a point trying to look deeper into the Cui Bono, what's the point? Is it not enough to see that a persons "opinion", belief and agenda is different to what yours is?

I'm sure OSA monitors and possible engage in threads on ESMB and other places. The strongest defense to it, is use your brains when communicating, especially when its off the board in PM's etc... If someone is gossiping or talking gobshite about another poster, try to understand why and don't go cloak and dagger mode.

Anyways I find it interesting that OSA is seen as a problem, or that they can hold influence, IF the actually do. If you don't engage in politics or ad hommos and engage in posting that interests you and where you can stand for what you post, then what influence can they have?

If I understood Tory's OP, she was illuminating the fact that OSA's main target is to "slime" discussion boards, to make it so unpleasant for people to be here and to discuss things that they simply quit and go away. Or to create fights between critics so that all they can do is attack each other's character and never discuss Scientology.

I think - but I don't know - that Tory would like to see critics heal the past and come together and let bygones be bygones - because some of those bygones certainly might have been intentionally caused, and some were just misunderstandings that were inflamed, and some were just fights from pure human frailty.

In Tory's post to me, I felt her generate humanity for me in order to try to help me heal from the past and to move on. That is, at least what I got out of her post to me.

In this thread, Emma and I had a very productive discussion, and yes, I do think that Tory would find that valuable.

If you've been around as much as Veda has, and taken all this crap from so many people - including all brands of Scientology-dramatized OSA behavior - then you are going to get a little quick on the trigger every now and then.

I forgive him for it, because he is an extremely valuable resource for Ex-Scientololgists, and I would rather build him up than tear him down.

You are valuable, too, Mary. Very valuable.

I would rather build you up than tear you down as well.

I've had a few flare ups since coming back on the board. To me, they were things I had to say. And I feel like I have said them all and they are in the past.

So I'm ready to go.

Veda is valuable and you are valuable and Emma is valuble and Karen is valuable and

so let's go!

Excellent point, He-Man!

After a while, what can happen is that let's say there are 15 posters contributing to a thread. And the OP was written by one of them. You can have one or maybe 2 posters get adhom on the person, and sometimes it isn't even noticed. But it's a little pin prick that demoralizes you, and maybe - if it has happened enough to you - can get you starting to be defensive.

And then, one more little pin prick can set you off.

Tory tells the story of watching Bill Yaude do this exact behavior through multiple sock accounts in order to get a fight going on ARS between critics. He took a huge win once they all started fighting with each other. She literally watched him do it.

It's all done through Adhom and personality and character sliming. I'm pretty sure that he would have written up his hat for the rest of OSA who were "handling the net".

So, as Tory says, "Don't drive the OSA bus!"

Tory is quite a wise leader.

I remember the story of Bill Yade and what he did on ARS.

Here on ESMB there are 2 excellent tools built into the forum - the Ignore Button and Report post. If you find a poster that works like this report it, and ignore if you want to be rid of it.

If anyone don't want to use them if they find a posters comments offensive... My personal opinion is that the person offended is in the wrong.

The most important thing to remember, also my own view on it: You as a poster decide to put your opinions out then you are "fair game" to be commented upon(As long as the reply is in accordance with forum rules). Criticism is healthy up to a point where it becomes insulting, the rules as to when that happen are quite clear and have been discussed before. Ad hominominoms, and commenting on the poster rather then the opinion.

Tory is quite wise, I agree 100% But this should be a non issue. The 2 pin pricks you refer to(the idea of them)... You as the OP are being offended, you have tools to correct the situation = OSA should not be able to do harm.

Not 100% waterproof but definitively a workable system for the majority of incidents.

Then again... Fuck it, J&D is fun, otherwise people wouldn't do it, I offend, I make fun of techies at times, sometimes not, it depends on the situation.

Then again... Some posters want to get into fights, its fun to have an argument now and then, I see this not only here but on other forums as well.

Well, Lurker5, you possibly hold the record for planting "What The Fucks" on my posts on ESMB, so either you just like saying that to people or you actually disagree with me. Oh wait, there's a "disagree" button, so that can't be it. So what does "WTF" mean? Most of the time it seems to mean something like, "Hey, you're a crazy asshole." Mmmm... Sounds a bit like you're attempting to "degrade" and discredit me. Mmmm...

Apparently, I'm one of those judged not to be cooperating sufficiently with the shoulder to shoulder united effort to take down Miscavige/Cof$, so, considering your team spirit, I can see why you'd be annoyed with me, and might consider such "degradation" acceptable.

The funny part of this is, I'm completely in favor of you expressing your views (although "WTF" is not so much a view as an e-poke in the gut).

IMO, the freedom to express one's views, to disagree, to exercise critical faculties, is essential.

That means that we won't always agree, and that's good. We can even argue about stuff.

It doesn't necessarily mean we're "doing the Cof$'s work."

So, while I agree with, and admire, Tory, and the tactics she described are very true :), it's also true that (in effect) re-training people to limit their views and agreements/disagreements to a kind of "unofficial, official, unofficial" acceptable deep groove - as we work towards the cause - is misguided, stifling and, ultimately, counter productive.

And I'm sure that Tory isn't encouraging any such thing, but I thought I'd write this for the sake of expression, and for clarification.

WTF?

Hundreds of times I have watched people fall into the Adhom trap and go hell for leather trying to prove that the other person is ... well whatever they feel they are. It's easy to respond in the heat of the moment with "No U!" and it can take a bit of self control, self respect and also respect for others to avoid that trap. That's why I mention "personalities" ... if one leaves the nasty personal comments out of discussions, then if someone in the background is trying to create conflict it's pretty much dead in the water.

Personally, I am a big fan of the Ignore button and use it often. Rather than thinking of myself as weak or not able when I use it, I see it as a great "governor." I rarely keep someone on ignore forever, but just use it until my irritation with them dies down a bit.

If I typed everything here that I think, I swear to God I would have been perma-banned years ago.

I'm also a big fan of writing responses and then not hitting the Send button. Saves a LOT of trouble.

Tory/Magoo~~Still Dancing in the Moonlight ("Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about how to Dance in the Rain"

Tory, you are great ! thank you for all you are doing. Most public scientologists don't have an inkling of all this. Hubbard was very keen on German Intelligence and propaganda, He also knew Orwell's 1984 and how to rewrite reality. That's one of the reasons DM had references to 1984 deleted from the SHSBC.

Well, I responded in the emotion of the moment  to Lurker5's recent "WTFs" against myself and others, and to the other "WTFs" that have peppered my posts for the last year or so, IMO, mainly to taunt, mostly from the same half dozen people.

My bad. :confused2:

Perhaps I was having a bad day but, apparently, that doesn't matter. So be it. :melodramatic:

"Butthurt"..."ego".

Alanzo

Thanks, Alanzo. Good post.

I have used the Ignore button, but only on rare occasion. I generally just ignore an irritating comment, just not reply to it. It becomes easier over time to do this. I sometimes feel a personal obligation to comment on something said about another that i feel is unjust. When I do, it is usually with much restraint on my part. It's very easy to get caught up in the pile-ons when they happen here. I avoid them whenever possible. I know I am not alone in this.
