From Narconon toScientology.....Almost!!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone here and let you know I can't stop reading!!!! Signed up to this because I have spent the last 7 months crazily searching the web about scientology and Narconon.

To start at the beginning in December my daughter came home from her boyfriends house where she had been living for the past year. In that year they had had many ups and downs ,her moving back home but only for a max of 3 days [I didn't ever realize this until now] His mother brought her and dropped her off . She had wrecked her car and his in a matter of 2 weeks! Immediatly I could tell she was using something she went from laughing to crying in seconds. To make a long story short I was on the web in an instant and got hooked up with the Narconon program for her. Before I could get funds she left in the middle of the night .....he came and got her ....he lives about an hour and a half away!!!
So next thing I know I am given a call from someone that works for NN but only on a part time basis. He called at least twice a week to check and see how things were going then had me get pre appoved for the money so when I got the opportunity again I would be able to send my daughter right away.
To make long story shorter daughter went in Feb so I had been talking to this man for a good month. He helped me thru all the ups and downs of the program with her and believe me there were many! All the night that she called crying wanting to come home . Knowing everything I hear about now I feel horrible that I left her there.....she was pregnant...had just found out before she left!!!! In the end I think it was why they let her come home when I think about it. She left the program Nine days before she was to graduate!
My daughter tells me quit texting him its all scientology and they will suck me in.
Soon after she came home he sent me a text asking if he could use me as a referral for someone that wanted to send a family member to the program I was so excited I thought this is what I wanted to do!! Now I find all this out and am very confused !!!!!! I had been searching maybe all the wrong sights went and bought the Dianetics book started reading I knew this was for me...... now am happy to find all this info but feeling lost was ready to dive into scientology!!!!It all sounded so good !!!! Thanks for all your stories I guess I just need to keep reading!!

I can understand wanting to make sure people who have problems of any kind receive help, if you care about them.

My father considered Scientology to be Satanism, thinly veiled. He did say that they had helped me to kick drugs and start looking at the big picture (making future plans for myself, instead of coasting while high), which is true. The problem is that Scientology doesn't stop with the initial help: instead, they use that feeling that you were helped by them to get you to sign up for more, and to sign your friends up, and the further along you go, the more of a mind-bender you are in for, eventually, becoming a drone following Ron Hubbard's "Command Intention" while your teeth rot out and your real future gets dimmer and dimmer. Either that, or you get out, usually at great personal and familial cost.

STAY CLEAR OF SCIENTOLOGY.

First of all: the claimed success rates Narconon has are fabrications. In fact, it even has *lower* success rates than conventional drug rehabilitation centres.

Secondly, you must understand that Dianetics has no scientific basis *whatsoever*. Hubbard claims to have performed numerous studies corroborating Dianetics, in fact, there is not a single record detailing on any studies he referred to in Dianetics.

I have read the first half of Dianetics and know about the unbelievable sounding promises Hubbard makes as to the state of clear. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

If you choose to believe in what Hubbard writes, that is your choice. But stay clear of the Scientology Organisation.

Please let us know how your daughter is doing, and if she has been able to start a different path from the drugs.

Wanting to help others is a good thing.
Helping others to the expense of your health and well being is NOT.
There are many ways to help others that have more sanity to them.
Volunteer to a church food drive, etc.

Thanks to Emma and friends, another has been saved before their life was ruined.

Wow, what a way to be introduced to Narconon, huh? I hope your daughter recovers soon...well...she's gonna have to now that she's pregnant (when is she due?).

Like the others here have said....DON'T GET SUCKED IN!

That guy will be sooooooo NICE to you and just love-bomb you and your daughter to death until one or both of you weaken and come in and join.

There are other good drug-rehab programs out there, if you are still in need of one!

I am thinking that your daughter was ready to stop her drug use because of her pregnancy. She possibly could have done it on her own.

Do read all the stories here. They are the true picture of what scientology is all about.

There are also tons of horror stories about NarCONon on the internet if you keep searching. It is just a back door into scientology.

Did your daughter get gains fron the narconon program?
She off drugs? Its not clear from your story.

Same here, my friend and I went to a seminar years ago and we both were ready to join after we read the book. I had another roomate that took us to a local library and showed us many books and articles on Scientology. It scared the hell out of me, but my friend got suck in by a smooth talking guy.
She just recently escaped.

My point is, the beginning of Scientology is very welcoming and seems helpful, the deeper you go is where the trouble begins. Also Scientology tech have driven many insane. Google Scientology and mental illness.
I would change my number and stay the hell away!

You are of sound mind. That is evident in your research into Scientology.

We all want to better humankind, but there are definately more productive ways to go about it.

Scientology is sneaky. They often use front organizations to expose you to the basic tenents which do tend to be sound. However, once you fall for that trap, it only gets worse. Constant regging for donations and courses. The higher up you go, the fewer the gains (my opinion).

The stories posted here and elsewhere will give you true insight into what Scientology actually is and does. Keep reading and make up you own mind.

Great to hear that you daughter is still clean. I hope that she stays that way. And congratulations on your newest addition. I LOVE babies!!!!

I just don't get how something that turned out so good can be such a bad

thing! I still dabble back and forth with myself ...... I read the stories on here

and have my mind all made up that I will stay away...But then I have the

proof of my daughter and want to help others! I have a friend who s child has

been through a 12 step program many times so why is there all this bad talk

about Narconon when it also happens at other programs? This is the part that

keeps drawing me back. Is it because there are so many Narconons that if

you get a few bad experiences its snowballed under one name? And would it

really be that bad if you had an addict for a loved one that the only way to

stay clean is to stay away from everyone and start a new life working for

them? Still finding myself daily confused!

And for the update my daughter is doing wonderful and so is that adorable

grandbaby!! And I will thank Narconon for that!

Stay far away from anything to do with L. Ron Hubbard. His intentions were clear ... clearly evil

Its good if it helped your daughter, but be aware also of that its not certain she will always stay drugfree just because she went to NN and is drugfree now. I know people reverting after many years. My own experience from nn is that many revert. actually i dont know a single person that did the program and stayed totally clean all their life after that. But having a family and a baby certainly helps, at least it was like that for me. I have both been on drugs and ive worked in several narconons. I did the program, and i stayed off drugs for 7 years, but that had a lot to do with that i got into scientology afterwards. I find narconon-scioentologists to be some of the most dedicated, maybe because they have nothing else to stay up there for. Im not sure. Anyway, im not a fan of the twelvestep program either, but whatever helps a person off drugs is ok. I just wouldnt go into it further. And i wouldnt want you to stay with that feeling that you have NN to thank for her being drugfree. She did that. Shes strong!

I met many dedicated and nice staff from NN, and i truly know they are very dedicated to help, but i dont think its all good because it does lead people into scientology. Many of those students at NN.

It is a very good thing that your daughter got off drugs, but that is NOT the SOLE purpose of Narconon. The CoS has many programs chosen and designed to forward "Command Intention" by expanding Scientology and CLEARing the planet(read as making the word of LRH the final and controlling arbitrary of all earth inhabitants) THAT purpose(Command Intention) underlies and provides impetus for all of the CoS and it's front groups.

I highly recommend reading LRH's affirmations wherein you will see that all that he did was under the guiding force or intent to support his megalomaniac and narcissist characteristics. He wrote Dianetics and embedded in that book some "workable" data, but he claimed it as the ONLY WORKABLE and scientific method for the betterment of man. Scientology grew out of that as per LRH the ONLY workable applied philosophy for the whole universe not just Earth. Well LRH's philosophy didn't have all the answers, but it was embedded with enough truths to capture and hold thousand of individuals who where seeking self or cultural improvements.

But, keep in mind it was ONLY Hubbard who had the final say and claim to the discoveries which ensued. It had to be him, LRH as SOURCE and in control per his affirmations. And he designed the organizations to make sure it would remain that way. Love, compassion, integrity, fell by the wayside and were subordinate to 'HIS' creation, and anything, including physical and emotional abuse, through isolation, through disconnection, through paralegal and illegal harassement, etc where RECOMMENDED and even written as policy to ENSURE all was HIS and the WAY HE WANTED IT.


A core tool to lure and keep people was the probably universal good will and desire to know more, to understand, to improve and to help that are inherent characteristics of each and every person.
This in my opinion is what pins people to Scientology.

The political (forming and controlling groups) aspect of scientology uses surveys to find the 'ruin' of communities small or large and then designs programs to align with the solving of community 'ruins' and thus enlisting the good will of the community members and THEN directing that good will into the aiding of the CoS and THUS COMMAND INTENTION.

Summarizing, Scientology groups do do good things, but all aligned to empower themselves. The good could be done and is done by other methods which end with the result of the ruin resolved. But Scientology sponsored programs ALWAYS carry with them the intend to MAKE a Scientologist or to gain favor for Scientology. Much more could be said but I will leave it at that for the moment.

I am curious about whether or not NN knew that your daughter was pregnant. From what you say it sounds like they did not. AS far as I know the NN progeam would not be good for a pregnant girl/woman. It is natural that an addicted person could have reasons not to reveal the fact that they are pregnant. In standard medical treatment people are warned that if they are pregnant, certain medicines and treatment should not be used. I wonder if NN does this. Even if they do they would have to take into account that there is the risk of people concealling the fact that they are pregnant.

NN did know that she was pregnant and did not let her do the sauna program but instead she was put on prenatal vitamins and they also took her to Dr. appointments.
