What's new

Geir Isene has a new Natterboard!

He-man

Hero extraordinary
I lurked some on Giers board to see what it looked like, man, Alonzo, you got some heavy duty plumbing ahead of you for sure.

But I can understand the problem the people there express, they don´t like coming to a board to be ridiculed. Hopefully we will see a surge of people going to that board to read their opinions, because they won´t come here.

Be careful wot you read. Can make you sick.

Aside from the content, I really like Geir's board, it has a good layout and I like the color scheme

I just saw the very hilarious movie 'the Men who Stare at Goats' and I laughed uncontrollably for a solid minute during one scene.

You gotta see this movie! It's a purported brief pass on the history of the governments military 'Psi ops' programs. culmenating with Jeff 'the Dude' Bridges dosing the whole Psi ops overseas base with acid.

In one scene, George Clooney's character is telling Ewan McGregor's character about the 'vibrating fist of death'; (This is paraphrased, as my memory isn't perfect, I was laughing too hard. )

He gave me the 'Dim Khan'

The what?

The Dim Khan; the vibrating fist of death.

What does that do?

It kills you, Bob.

Really?

There's this story of a kung fu master giving the Dim Khan to an opponent (paraphrased) Just barely touched him, and he died.

You mean he died right there.

No, it took 19 years, but he died.

WHAT?

That's the thing about the Dim Khan, Bob, you never know when it's going to strike.

:roflmao:

Like I said, I thought about OT III lethality, and nearly hurt myself laughing.

I think my lifetime is limited on that board.

One moderator has already called me "low-toned", and others, including Geir himself, have labeled me a "troll". I have had to defend myself against AdHom attacks, and report AdHom attacks in posts which have gotten by the moderators, even though one of their jobs is to supposedly police ad hom attacks in posts and not let them onto the board. Many people have complained about my posts there, which is continuing to annoy the other moderators and cause them more and more "dev-T".

These are the storm clouds gathering on my horizon at the Scientology Forum.

They want a "pro-Scientology" board.

And yet they also want "the freedom of speech".

Such is the touching naivete of ideologues. It's like neo-conservatives saying "We will be greeted as liberators", or communists saying "the state will eventually whither away". An ideologue never realizes that his ideology can not withstand reality. When he finally does realize this, he's no longer an ideologue.

Oh well.

Such is life, and our own paths to enlightenment.

When I posted on scnforum.org that LRH didn't have a "particularly good track record of telling the truth", Geir said that was an ad hom of LRH! So I referenced Bare Faced Messiah for evidence and proof of his track record as regards telling the truth and I questioned if criticism of scn and LRH is not allowed. That reply hasn't been approved by the moderators yet.

I believe Geir is well intentioned, but freedom of speech is a hard concept for a scientologist to put into practice. I wish him well.

I tried to be "lionheart" on his forum, but my log-in kept getting booted off. Geir has been trying to sort it out and I registered under his suggestion as another ID "Earthling" but that ID also gets booted out repeatedly making it almost impossible to post.

Geir is trying to sort it out, which I very much appreciate.

Yes, but YOU ARE low-toned and a major SP.

From where you sit on the tone scale, it's no wonder these things are happening to you.

Geir himself, have labeled me a "troll".

I did call you a troll. And I think I was wrong in doing so - since what you have posted does not fit to the definition of "a troll". That you are a trouble-maker is for sure, although I don't mind. The other members of the forum minded - and plenty so. And in choosing between you being happy and raving about the forum and half a dozen others being happy, I go with the greater number (although you may for sure have viewpoints on quality here that you may argue could do some scale-tipping).

What did you actually plan on accomplishing over there? They are not interested in reality, so why force it on them. It's like a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving going to a Beer Enthusiast's Message Board and preaching about the evils of drinking.

It was adHom - and I would protect you the same - if anyone started question your "track of truth" to discredit you.

As I mailed you, FUDforum seems incapable of producing the behavior that you report except if there is some bug in the software. We'll figure out some solution to this, as I do want you to post.

As for freedom of speech etc,; yes as long as the rules are adhered to (so far it's been damn difficult to keep up with traffic and the number of reported posts).

That's an odd use of Ad hominem on a forum, since, as far as I know, Ron isn't a member there, doesn't post there and is, in fact *dead* :)

Not to mention that saying that Ron had a less than stellar track record of 'truth telling' is being *kind*.

I think that you (and others) should also look a little more deeply into what Ad Hominem means too. As it happens, an 'ad hominem fallacy' isn't even really a fallacy per se, although it tends to get lumped in with them. But, there are completely legitimate uses for disputing both the authority or truthfulness of a debater or witness, because, when someone is claiming something on his own experience or authority or testimony, whether he's an *honest* reporter is a crucial element.

And, the facts speak for themselves; Ron had a long history of claiming experience and qualification that He did *not* have. Which brings into question every bit of his testimony that's based on those qualifications or claimed experience.

Is it your contention that anyone making any claim must be taken at face value regardless of the blatant falsity of his claims?

Will you apply your 'AdHom' protection to someone who claims to have seen L. Ron Hubbard felating goats in mexico?

After having been around Alanzo for a couple years, it became necessary to "solve" him in order to co-exist with myself. That accomplished, I feel I understand where he's coming from and enjoy it, thereby achieving the elevated state of OT Al. This is a potent state, I will tell you and defintely worth attaining.

You noted "truth" above. In that context, is there universal truth?

is there an earlier similar forum?

NICE NAZI'S FORUM MODERATOR: "We have deleted your ad hom remark about Hitler as it is against our forum rules. Please refrain from ad hom comments or you will be banned."

POSTER: "But, what about all of Hitler's ad hom posts about Jews being so innately evil that they deserve to be murdered?!"

NICE NAZI'S FORUM MODERATOR: "Nope. Those are not ad hom."

POSTER: "What??!!"

NICE NAZI'S FORUM MODERATOR: "Ad hom means directed at the man. Obviously, Jews are sub-human, so Hitler's posts are merely constructive criticism based on truth."

Poor old David Misc. He's being Ad hom-ed to hell and back.

Geir. Do you have the courage to look at evidence that people have ("Bare faced Messiah"), that Ron Hubbard
did actually lie about things, including very very important things.?

Hey degraded being!

That is such a fascinating point to consider....

Everyone has "blind spots" in life. Like driving a car, if you don't make the effort to turn and LOOK at your blind spots, you crash. You don't get many chances for do-overs.

Geir successfully adjusted his mirrors and began looking at the Church of Scientology. He deserves total respect for his intelligence and integrity. He saw what he saw and he said what he saw. Guy is awesome.

Pretty great so far.....but now it gets a lot harder. Blind spots in places you think you are already looking.

Can he continue adjusting his mirrors and looking around to see what there is to see with L. Ron Hubbard and the Bridge to Total Freedom?

Geir.....Take your time, but take a real good look, my friend.
