Come on folks! I wasn't anywhere near the Apollo and I might have a clue! :hysterical:

Isn't she Nikki Freeman aka Nikki Merwin aka Mary Sue Hubbard’s best friend (and co-dabbler in astrology and numerology).

Skip Press writes:

At the time I was dating Nikki Merwin, a former Vegas showgirl who was Mary Sue Hubbard’s best friend. Nikki told me that Hubbard’s only upset about his wife going to prison was Mary Sue getting strip-searched in Kentucky. Nikki described driving around the Hollywood hills with Hubbard looking for a house to buy, only to have him finally conclude derisively there were “too many Scientologists” in the area. (I knew this was true; a friend told me about saying hello to Hubbard and Nikki in nearby Beachwood Canyon when they stopped at a stop sign.)

Damn, your right!!! Holy Effen Ess...Does that ever fire me old synapses. I had it on suppress, LOL. I kept thinking that the face in that picture was sooo familiar but just couldn't place it. Needles to say, I never saw her in that costume and she sure enough was doing her hair and makeup different on the Apollo...However she was gorgeous and very "statuesque", so to speak. :coolwink:

Oh, shit...It's all starting to come back to me...Thanks a bunch IL2K...You're a real Mensch and unparalleled Librarian of the "Old Days".

You're reward is this tidbit...Mary Sue's avid fan viewing partner for Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman was Nikki.

Maggie was a real dish, IMHO. Her and Alex had a child in the early days of the FLB...Don't know where she came from or what happened to them, either. Alex, along with Kerry Gleason and David Light were kind of "quietly" legendary from their "Crush Sell, Postulate Check" bust and then booming Boston Org when they were sent out there for their "Punishment". Interesting that what El Ron busted them for (in a scathing Issue) was subtly, tacitly and carefully implemented not long afterwards on Reg Lines by Hisself.

Are you sure? Frankie Freeman was not married to Nikki, AFAIK. His real name when he was a casino pit boss in Las Vegas (where he met his showgirl wife) was Franklin Friedman or Freedman. He changed it to Freeman. He's been married to Arte Maren's ex-wife, Mary, for decades. She began working on the Royal Scotsman with LRH, then with Frankie on the Apollo. They are now FZ's in Idaho.

"Neville, together with Frankie Friedman (who recently moved to our area of Northern Idaho – of all places – and is part of what we call the “Marty Party” of “independent scientologists” and uses an assumed name of Frankie Freeman) were referred to as Hubbard’s thugs (bodyguards) in disgraced former British consul – John Forte (deceased) – book The Commodore and The Colonels. Neville was also referred to by Forte as a “British professional boxer”.

Other documents and sources that I have yet to bring up, discuss that Frankie was a former Mob (Mafia) pit boss in Las Vegas just prior to his entrance into the happy drug-smuggling and money-laundering crew of Hubbard’s Sea Organization. Frankie’s wife back at the time, was a former Vegas showgirl starring in one of their longest running shows (briefly, that is)"

Franklin & his wife worked at the Tropicana.

"Frankie Freedman, a former pit boss in a Las Vegas casino and a Scientologist of ten years' standing, knew the Sea Org was going ashore because he had been scouring South Carolina, Georgia and Florida for a property with a security perimeter which could be used as a staging-post until a permanent land base was established. His 'shore story' was that he was a representative of a phoney corporation - Southern Land Sales and Development - which was looking to lease properties for church-organized retreats."

"That photo came from Frankie Freedman, who is now calling himself Franklin Freeman. He has been married to Mary Maren for decades, so she is Mary Freeman. She is very well known for her ethics courses. She has been doing miraculous ethics handlings for decades. Mary was at the last Freezone Convention in Pasadena last October."

Freeman, Freedman, Friedman, Franky, Frankie, Franklin WTF?

Was Nikki (whom I personally knew) a Showgirl? That's was what I was told as per above.

Had Franky, Frankie, Franklin (whom I personally knew) on the Apollo once been married to a former Showgirl? That's what I recall being told by a credible source at that time.

Was Franky, Frankie, Franklin married--to my specific, first hand, with my own eyes knowledge--to another woman before Mary Maren, wife of Artie, Arty, Arthur Maren (both of whom I personally knew) to at least one other woman before their nuptials? Yes...Fran Freeman (Freedman, Friedman), AKA Broeker, AKA Harris.

Face:)

EDIT PS: Did I know that Franky, Frankie, Franklin Freeman, Freedman, Friedman had been a Pit Boss in Las Vegas before being So Crew on the Apollo? Yes...He told me so, personally.

EDIT PPS: If Nikki Merwin had not once been married to Franky, Frankie, Franklin then why did she go by his surname until she married Rick?

EDIT PPS: Smurf, I realize that having married someone 3 decades ago is a significantly long time to you...I first stepped onto the Aft Well Deck of the Apollo over 4 decades ago and had my first "Session", was an Academy Student and shortly thereafter a Staff Member nearly a decade before that...And, I was legally an Adult.

Caroline, thank you for explaining the connection between the IRS tax exemption and the Armstrong case. I never understood how it dovetailed together, but now makes sense, well, as much as any psychotic behaviour would make sense!

I find it incredible that despite judicial decisions in Gerry's favour, he was subjected to legal harassment.

I'm glad the explanation helped, presecco.

Along with being a linchpin in Scientology's IRS tax exemption fraud on US taxpayers and citizens, the Armstrong case is clearly central to Rathbun's life work and psyche. (Ref. Memoirs, 2013) If he was really having a Damascus Road incident (or a moral 180°) in August 2014, Rathbun would immediately have to confront what he has done and is doing in the Scientology v. Armstrong war. I've seen no evidence of such a turnaround. If Rathbun and Rinder et al. can get away with what they are doing to Gerry, they can keep Scientology working, and make the old man right, just like they've memorialized in the Memoirs epilog.

To me, it still looks like DM, Rathbun, Rinder et al are working on the Scientologists' soft landing programs. The soft landers will be joined until the end of their lives in their conspiracy to achieve illicit tax exemption. Revealing one person's IRS- and related crimes would expose everyone in line for a soft landing. I.e., Rathbun and Rinder are Keeping The Juggernaut Working. All their disclaiming now about Scientology, Hubbard et al. can be seen as another step in this program. The crime and torts are ongoing.

There is of course a distinct possibility that Rathbun and DM are angling for a "settlement" and an unlawful gag order, which Rathbun has worked his adult life to make appear lawful, and get him "bound" to not spill any real beans while in Bulgravia. It worked for Debbie Cook, didn't it, and Rathbun worked on that case.

Okay, Smurf. I got what you said in the first sentence of your post and the AFIAK...which I find humorous to a degree as you only "know" what you could find on the Web, read and Link to...but, then you decided to Post stuff hither and dither and comment on it. You go split all the hairs you want to, play veiled DOC's or GTFO and ignore exactly what I said.

I never said I knew for a fact that Franky, Frankie, Franklin were married. I asked why, if they weren't she was going using the surname Freeman, Freedman, Friedman in the early '70's on the Apollo. I also stated, truthfully, that Franky, Frankie, Franklin told me he had been a Pit Boss in Las Vegas. I also stated, truthfully, that Bill Broderick (based on a first hand, reputable source) had told me that Nikki had been a Showgirl in Vegas. I also stated, truthfully, that the face of the women in the picture sure as Hell is Nikki (whom you never met, or interacted with AFAIK). I also stated, truthfully, that to my knowledge Franky, Frankie, Franklin in the Early Days of the Apollo. That's the best I can recall.

Maybe she was never legally married to Franky, Frankie, Franklin...that I don't know for a fact. Maybe her Maiden name was Freeman, Freedman, Friedman and she was never a Las Vegas Showgirl and Rosemary Broderick lied to her husband about what was passed it on to me.

All I know and my damaged brain can recall is what I have stated and now restated.

For God Sakes, hopefully someone will come along that can put me out of my misery...To the best of my recently jogged and suspect brain, I recall that it was "common knowledge" when I was on the Apollo that Franky, Frankie, Franklin and Nikki were once married and the rest I have Posted is from me memory of direct, firsthand knowledge or personally told to information.

If I'm wrong, I will be the first to graciously apologize and suffer the embarrassment...As I have before on ESMB on the couple of times I was in factual error or my "conjecture" was corrected by someone that I personally knew would know better than I, or by DOC's.

My perspective:

If Marty Rathbun or Mike Rinder tell the truth, in any particular area of importance, I'll likely acknowledge it.

If they obfuscate or spin or lie, I'll note that.

If they avoid or go (or remain) silent, then I'll note that.

I am not a disciple of either man, and their opinions have no power over me.

Their opinions do influence a small audience, mostly people calling themselves Independent Scientologists, and these Independents, many of them, have been shocked and dismayed by M&M's recent statements against Hubbard, etc. Some have renounced M&M and reasserted their belief in Hubbard&Scientology, and some of them have pulled back from Hubbard&Scientology, becoming ex Scientologists.

Since M&M are in the process of changing (or appearing to be changing), and since I've no power to do anything but observe, I'll do that: I'll observe the seeming change.

Where will it lead?

Will M&M eventually cross the "bottom line" and expose the lie of religious cloaking and the truth about the shady IRS deal?

Time will tell.

I told you I was trouble

I've been thinking quite a bit about this thread, and about Gerry and what happened to him especially.

Here's part of the problem, in my view. As scientologists (ex, add your own pre fix) there is the indoctrination that one cannot be a, 'victim' as one is the master of their own universe, or at least cause of their own destiny. Even in the 'outside' world there is an element of this, such as, 'there isn't smoke without fire...'

However, I think what happened to Gerry, and I only have a small fraction of the whole story, was evil and he was a victim. He was bullied from an organisation that had almost infinite resources, and the law, which should have protected him, was used maliciously.

So, yes, he was a victim. None of this was his fault. He didn't do anything wrong.

The other aspect is how someone who did bad things to someone while a member of an organisation makes it right. Also, there is an element of heavy indoctrination here. There is this weird idea in scientology that Person A can be horrible to Person B, but if Person A makes restitution to Person C, then that's OK and absolves them of past misdeeds using slogans such as, 'the greatest good' etc.

Lastly, I think there are a handful of people who were affected by some vicious campaigns of harassment by the C of S and who are owed an apology. Bob Minton (apparently Mike Rinder called him a friend at the end), Gerry, Pat Broeker, Clare and Marc Headley, Hana Whitfield, to name a few. There may be others, but the harassment was really personal.

Caroline, I disagree that Marty is trying to get recognition for the C of S, or even the subject of scientology. This was the case, maybe even a year ago, but definitely not anymore. It's been a gradual process but Marty seems rather anti Hubbard these days.

I suppose I view the cofs as the "asylum" ... where we were all fully paid up members or "inmates" ... a part of the various, insane conspiracy theories that hubbard liked to create and immerse himself in (and share with us at great expense to our own sense of freedom, sanity and financial wellbeing).

The cofs really was (and remains) a place of madness where people just did their best to hang on to any remaining sense of self and some (having escaped the mental straight jacket) may never feel fully themselves and free of it all again ... but we each travel our own road now and I don't want to be a part of any emerging group viewpoint that grows legs and starts wearing tinfoil.

It doesn't take much for things to become conspiratorial and cult like where people start making "demands" on each other and issuing "ethics assessments" ... I cringe when I see that kind of thing creeping in, it isn't normal behavior, it's cultic ... unless done in private or in a court of law.

:)

As far the highlighted in red, I agree with Alanzo posting on Marty's blog to correlate what you said:

http://markrathbun.wordpress.com/2014/10/08/scientology-knows-drama/#comments

"Alanzo | October 10, 2014 at 11:25 am | Reply

This is similar to Hubbard’s attempt to use the Nocebo Effect on Scientologists, first with his “Excalibur” myth where he wriote a book that drove people insane, and even caused one guy to throw himself out a window, and later with the OT 3 implant where you would contract pneumonia and die if you were “exposed” to the materials before you were ready for it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocebo

This is another set of behaviors that Hubbard employed on Scientologists over the course of decades which reveals his harmful intent.

The OT 3 nocebo was much more effective than the Excalibur story. And that is because Hubbard worked it out and refined it on Scientologists as a control mechanism over many decades.

Some people say that it is impossible to discern someone else’s intent.

Not true.

When a person takes a long course of action, and refines and modifies that action over decades to make it more and more effective – this is strong evidence of their intent.

The OT 3 warnings of pneumonia and death are vicious nocebo implants, intentionally placed in the minds of Scientologists in order to control them for his own purposes, and without regard to the harm he was causing them.

He basically wanted Scientologists to believe that they have a “kill-switch” in their minds so that if they thought certains thoughts or learned certain things, the “kill-switch” would go off and they would die.

The terror and the psychological damage this implant caused to many Scientologists was simply not important to L Ron Hubbard. From his point of view, it was a pluspoint – not an outpoint – that Scientologists were implanted and their reach crippled with this destructive delusion.

Alanzo"

I'm responding to my own post here, this is why.

I'm a newly out, from 2012.

I only heard of Jerry Armstong and Caroline since I started posting posting here in July 2012.

Here is what I would like to see on ESMB.

I would like to see a tread started by Caroline and Jerry, both, telling there story from the beginning of there involvement in scientology.

Now that would be cool. Just like Face did.

And that would be therapy, for newly outs.
Scientology’s Crumbling: Can Gerry Armstrong Begin to Think of Crossing the Border?

Gerry’s passport photo, 1971

Jon Atack is the author of
A Piece of Blue Sky, one of the very best books on L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. He has a new edition of the book for sale, and on Saturdays he’s helping us sift through the legends, myths, and contested facts about Scientology that tend to get hashed and rehashed in books, articles, and especially on the Internet.

The Church of Scientology may be around for years to come, but it’s in such dire straits at the moment, we can’t help thinking about some of the consequences if it suddenly went belly up. One of the first things that comes to our mind are the many people whose lives are affected negatively on an ongoing basis because of the church’s legacy of ripped apart families, onerous legal settlements, and silencing gag orders. One of the first people we’d like to see sprung from years of legendary harassment, for example, is British Columbia resident Gerry Armstrong, who avoids stepping foot in the United States because of a legal history that is almost too outlandish to believe.

It’s also a very complex history, and that’s why we’ve turned to Jon Atack for help. This week, we begin a series on Gerry Armstrong and his legal plight that we hope will eventually, perhaps, lead to some real changes to make up for an incredible legacy of shameful behavior against a man who simply tried to tell the truth.

A brief note that may be relevant to Mike Rinder.

This morning Mike posted about a new Scientology front-group to be announced at the upcoming IAS Anniversary, Voice for Humanity. Mike's post is:
Monumental Announcement Under The Big Top
http://www.mikerindersblog.org/monumental-announcement-under-the-big-top/

One of his readers noted that Scientology usurped the name of a preexisting, non-Scientology group named Voice for Humanity. Another of his readers provided a screenshot of a now deleted post by the Pretoria DSA announcing the Scientology version of Voice for Humanity.

As of this writing Mike's post has 79 published comments.

I cross-posted his discovery here as:
NEW Scientology Front-Group: Voice for Humanity! Already one. Trademark Infringement?
http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthre...-Humanity!-Already-one-Trademark-Infringement

So far my cross-post here has one reply -- by me, adding new information.

It appears that while some people here are writing non-falsifiable, increasingly long, increasingly convoluted, increasingly conspiratorial comments about how Mike is not "really" an ex-Scientologist, and it is somehow all a ruse, he and his commentators, unlike to date people here, are actually, you know, doing shit.

And, no, I'm not aiming this at Gerry, who has done far more than his share. I'm just increasingly amazed, and to be honest disturbed, by the ability of some people to ignore what is actually being done now, what is actually happening now, as well as their ability to dismiss same as being part of grand conspiracy.

I never thought that I would first turn to Mike Rinder's blog for anti-Scientology news and activism, as opposed to navel-gazing.

I have to take you at your word that you’re disturbed. I have to also accept that you are talking about posters on ESMB whose abilities you know and who disturb you; and that there isn’t another venue, or a country perhaps, where a bunch of people have this ability about Rinder.

I understand that you are not including Gerry, and presumably me, in this set of ESMB posters who are “writing non-falsifiable, increasingly long, increasingly convoluted, increasingly conspiratorial comments about how Mike is not "really" an ex-Scientologist, and it is somehow all a ruse.”

You have no trouble forwarding posts. I think people have a right to know what posts you are referring to exactly, so that a real evaluation can be made of your assertion.

This would help me and Gerry, and help these posters you say possess this unique ability to ignore what is actually being done now, and what is actually happening now, as well as an ability to dismiss same as being part of grand conspiracy. I don’t possess that ability, obviously, because I’m responding to you now and happening now.

There is a grand conspiracy. Here’s the tip: http://armstrong-op.gerryarmstrong.ca/ Certainly Rinder is part of it. He is an operator: http://armstrong-op.gerryarmstrong.ca/archives/19 Certainly his continuing participation in the conspiracy renders his efforts to be seen as exposing something else suspect. Only his turning on the conspiracy will remove the suspicion from whatever else he’s doing. But I don’t write increasingly long, increasingly convoluted, increasingly conspiratorial comments about it.

The issue is not is Rinder really or “really” a Scientologist or not. It is whether he serves the conspiracy’s purposes.

It would also be immensely beneficial to you personally to identify those non-falsifiable, increasingly long, increasingly convoluted, increasingly conspiratorial comments about how Mike is not "really" an ex-Scientologist, and it is somehow all a ruse. If your assertion can be shown to you to be untrue, illogical or delusional, clearly your disturbed condition can be alleviated.
