Good to see you, Face! The doco is humanizing, chilling and insightful. So many Ex's speaking up. It was like seeing the My Story section of the board light up onto t.v.
This was exactly how I felt: this was very much MY story on TV. My family members remarked at how the former SO members stories were almost word for word what I had been telling them for years.
For the last couple of weeks, the closer it got to the documentary the more nervous I was. Actually watching was very hard. At times I had to look away. It pissed me off but I had my same recurring nightmares last night.
I worked under Mike and Marty and this documentary hits home for me as very truly depicted. I was out before them but the horrific abuse of "the hole" they recount is just a continuation to my own experience and story as the bizarre expectations made of staff and the treatment and consequences because of failures to please got more and more crazy.
For any lurkers - I think, if anything, the documentary actually graciously understated the sinister collection of information about parishioners, including the celebrities.
The crowd of never ins I watched with...the documentary was very very well received.
I hope this leads to a take down of this mafia organization posing as a church once and for all. All money, all responsibility, all organizational direction, current policy, all of it leads to David Miscavige.
