You have no idea of how many times I had that exact thought over the years of posting on ESMB! LOL

As long as we enjoying a brief intermission derail on this cool thread, here are a few notes on those garish stages for both The Wizard of Oz and for COB's starring role in The Wizard of Cauz.

* There is a reason that Scientology's sets are absurdly oversized. It is simply because making every object gargantuan destroys the audience members' perception & intuitive judgment of relative sizes. Therefore, a tiny little 5 foot 3 inch dictator doesn't look "small" because everything and everyone looks just as tiny amongst the towering pillars and other cartoonish iconography.

* Talking about "towering pillars", on the cult's stage, why are there a half-dozen gigantic phallic symbols, topped with burning fire? LOL. The Wizard of Oz set only has two big dicks on fire. And, was that just a coincidence or was there a reason COB placed two gigantic spheres in his backdrop--to let everyone know that while he might look like a little runt, he has orders-of-magnitude big balls? LOL

I knew Neil when he was in back in the 80's and follow his public self still. He is a decent bloke, always was.

He was psychologically well out of Scientology by 1993. But because the ex and the kids are all in, plus the sisters - one in the SO at SMI Int, she was my boss and we talked about Neil when she was trying to get him back on lines in '99. She failed miserably. She is probably on the RPF for the past five years, most all SMI people end up there, pet hate of Miscavich, those SMI guys.

The other, Lizzy, is in England with her kids, husband et all in the cult.

I cut Neil Gaiman a lot of slack. He resisted returning to Scientology despite immense pressure, now he leads his new life as a writer and speaker and a damn good speaker he is - with his wife, the wonderful and quirky Amanda Palmer.

The only connection to the cult is his love for his family and his refusal to disconnect from them.

I think her bro, Jermain Jackson is still in Scientology. He did an IAS event show at Saint Hill about 10 or 15 years ago.

Thanks, John, I hadn't read about his involvement before now.
So LaToya had one brother, Michael, who married a scientologist (Lisa Marie Presley) and has another brother, Jermaine, who also was/is a scientologist.
And her mother is a Jehovah's Witness.
Wow.

Also, I didn't put Neil Gaiman on the scio-celeb list on this thread for the very reasons you wrote about earlier.

To me the whole Scientology storyline except for the research SHBC from 1954 to 1959 is bogus invented bullshit. I really think the Allan Walters Gordon Bell, John Galusha, Roger DeMille Nibs contributors were notably significant in the true tech that truly proovably helped people. For example TRs Life repair, Grades, bypassed charge lists, Study course, Method 1 Word clearing (maybe). part of ethics.


The rest is comedic and a sad dysfunctional cataclysm.

Neil Gaiman was a Scientologist until the 1980s when he was declared an SP. He did his A-E steps to get back in good standing, for the sake of his family, but then he never went back.

I knew some of his close family members very well and I've had this discussion with them.

Also, in Marc Headley's book, Blown For Good, I seem to recall a brief mention of Sea Org member Clare Edwards having a brother who was declared. She only has one brother and that is Neil Gaiman.
