Harlem branch of Scientology re-opens..

"The Scientology branch in Harlem shuttered a small storefront on East 116th streets some time ago but now it appears that the controversial church is back bigger than ever. We walked by Fifth Avenue and 126th Street this past weekend and noticed that the signs were up for the religious group at this section of Central Harlem."

That's their "interim" space, until they get their property on 125th Street renovated and made all ideal. The few times I've been by, the "ideal" building has been as quiet and dark as a tomb, but to be fair(ish), those times were not during working hours. The interim space is a much, much better location as far as foot traffic goes--right on Fifth Avenue, next door to the National Black Theater building--but it is not as big. The "ideal" building is on eastern 125th Street on a gritty, industrial block with zero foot traffic.

Yes, Semper Phi, they have had violations to fix and incomplete needed code renovations on the place for years on the 125th St property.
