Lol! I remember a time when many of us would have cared (42 views at this point and not even a "like").
Cruise is the reason so many became fascinated by scientology, I clearly remember my children coming home from school one day, very excited because they had just found out that Cruise was a scientologist, my heart sank because even back in those days I was seriously disillusioned and was quietly under the radar, hoping to be forgotten about by the scruffy, clipboard clutching weirdos who used to bang on my front door (uninvited) every now and then attempting to drag me back into the cult.
Back then I had been deliberately (but carefully) discouraging my children from getting involved at all ... like so many of us I had needed to be "careful" because my ex was actively trying to do the opposite and (to my horror) had started the indoctrination when they were tiny and was actually taking them to events and into the org, which they had hated ... until the day they found out that Cruise was in, everything changed that day.
Cruise has been blatantly used and made a fool of by the greedy goblin (AKA COB) and he has willingly done more harm than just about anyone else by becoming his recruiter and ignoring the abuse that he knows is so much a part of the scientology that non celebs get.
As far as I can see the only reason anyone keeps up the cult enforced pretense (long after they must have realised scientology is a sick and twisted joke) is because they will personally lose more than they will gain by being honest with the public they previously conned!
He will always remain a complete knob in my estimation whether he leaves or stays ... he could have left a decade or so ago and I would have cheered and maybe even done a few cartwheels in his honour, these days I couldn't care less if I tried, the damage done (due to eventual disconnection) is irreversible and he is very much a part of the reason it happened.
