More to the point, there isn't a clear demarcation between the two concepts.

Yes. Much like how the mind and the brain are confused. We may need to think of the "Human" as a gradual transition between body, brain, mind, higher energies, and "spirit". Not some discrete parts that can be understood in isolation, but require the more comprehensive understanding.
Having a body is a great route to wicked fun sensations. Sex. Food. Drugs. Sunsets on the beach with a soft and good smelling others body.
That is one of the problems of science. Its precision excludes much in its focus. But as it plods along sooner or later the understanding grows.
Much more fun to just imagine.
