I was in the S.O. for a few years when I became pregnant and refused to get an abortion. All these years later and I can still recall the look on Kaye Conley's (not sure how to spell her last name) face when she cornered me in the bathroom, while looking at my large belly shook her head at me in disgust and said "How could you!" Back then we were sent to failing Class 4 orgs, it was a disaster.

Just as an aside, what do you know that happened with the "baby couple" thing?

Things have never looked better than right now for the rights of Scientologists to have the religion they thought they were joining in the first place.

No Scientologist ever agreed to censorship of ideas, or to have their rights taken away from them.

That was never part of the deal when we first signed up.

If you are able to get the word out to as many on-line Scientologists as you can, then it will make this process all the faster.

Stay anonymous, and do what you can with the comm lines you presently have. Get on-line Scientologists onto the internet. Break down the information control.

Welcome Miss Penguin! I am glad you are out and here. I hope you continue to read and research! And thank you for letting us know there are more of “you” out there.

I also knew Kay Connely. She was nice to me though. My family was doing her a favor a bit ago so I know of at least one daughter who is not in the S.O. but I think a scientologist. Kay was very nice to me, very kind – until I saw her at an event and yelled “KAY!!!!” when I saw her. It was bizarre, her face completely changed to the point I thought I had mistaken some one else for her. Then like a light switch her face changed and she tried to explain to a lowly public who had no understanding that the more the gold bars on the sleeve the more you were to fear the person and have NO emotional connection. It hurt my feelings pretty bad which is why I remember it.

Funny at first I didn’t agree with other statements on this thread that she is cold – but after thinking about it I remembered this moment at an event where I had run into her. I think she has one other daughter and a son. I only met the one daughter Trish.

Thank you for the welcome. I've been lurking for almost two years and yes there are many more like me. I'm glad to finally join in on the often enlightening conversations.

I'm surprised that Kay told you she was not supposed to have an emotional connection and the whole fear thing. How strange and contrary to true communication. It's sad really.

A friend of mine who left the S.O. after many years and rising in the ranks said he left because he didn't like the person he was becoming or was expected to be.

I can't recall exactly when it got cancelled, I know it was over 10 years later. I never saw anything official in writing on it but heard that there were too many flaps with these couples not making it (big surprise) and leaving anyways.

How you were expected to go out with no credit, work experience or education (in many cases), be expected to boom a failing org and support a family was beyond me. I always saw it as a punishment for anyone wanting a family, you could have one but we will make sure it's hard as heck on you.

I knew a couple who were fitness boarded out about 10 years ago because they had a baby and that was the new rule. If you wanted to keep your baby you were fitness boarded out before the pregnancy would show. Back in my day you stayed until after the baby was born, then were shipped out. That changed it seems because they didn't want pregnant S.O. members walking around giving anyone else any ideas.

That seems to be consistant. I know of a couple that this happened to. Just last year.
