Hey ESMB!!

I'm a Ex Scio Kid! I've been brought up in Scio land for as long as I can remember. Everything I have ever read by LRH has been a huge asset to my life and would never do without it.

Saying that, I have not done extensive study and most of what I have done was when I was a young kid under 12 or so. I was brought up by 2 parents that are trained and OT and I wouldn't have had it any other way. They were both on staff when I was very little and then Dad had to start work when to make the money and Mum stayed on for a while longer. I remember on occasion when I visited the org as a young tike running around, knowing everyone and getting some much attention.. a very social one as I still am today.

I wasn't your average kid. I played soccer.. not sure why, I used to sit on the grass between the goals and pick the clovers and take them to Mum so they wouldn't get squashed. Later on in primary school when I gave that up, I used to sit with the teacher and the girls at lunch and have a chat because the idea of playing football and getting my uniform dirty didn't interest me. On the other hand I wasn't a princess I used to get up to just as much mischief as my brothers. I climbed trees and made bombs (I have scars to prove it) and made my mother freak out.. just as all boys should. Mainly though I was quite happy to sit and have a chat with anyone. I loved going to resturaunts when I was 5, I wouldn't run around and my parents always complained I ordered the expensive stuff.. I have good taste I can't help it :eyeroll:

I think having the parents that I had made this a lot easier for me. They accepted me for who I was and treated me as who I wanted to be. I think I would be a very different person today if it was not for my parents and who they are.

That said.. It was a different story living in a Scientology family which meant socialising in Scio groups and going to a Scio school. The hard times I had from the other kids, the teachers and the other parents.. and by parents I mainly mean the fathers who often didn't know how to relate to me, it was difficult.

I'm a gay guy. I'm very happy with who and what I am.. I didn't choose to be this way it's just how it worked it and I wouldn't want to be any other way.

When I 'came out' my parents they were more supportive than I ever could have imagined. My brothers finally stopped calling me a FAG when I told them I was and it didn't bother them. I slowly came out to the rest of the group over the years and it was a big weight off my shoulders. This doesn't mean I didn't have trouble along the way. I was labelled 1.1 and people to this day don't talk to me, they ignore me on the street, they've written KR's, said I was 'Out Ethics' and to 'Knock it off'.

I'm interested in others that are out there that have had similar experiences, been involved in Scientology and had the crap that goes on with the group agreement and such, that comes with being involved in the organisation.

Welcome to the board, Teckid!

(If you want, you are welcome to read my story, which is on this message board. You will see that I was SP declared for pretty much what you are talking about here. Don't join the Sea Org or they will force you to change or route you out or declare you. Their views are very anti-gay, so matter how much PR crap they put out, they are entirely against it. BTW: I am not gay, but I respect those who are, I experimented and got declared for it).

Welcome, Teckid.

My views on gays has changed so much since being out of the CofS. I had one gay friend while I was in, he was also in and trying to get it handled. I have no clue if he got his "gayness" handled or not.

I have two gals that clean my house. They are a lesbian couple. They are the sweetest girls. I gab with them when they are here and am now insisting that we hang out when they aren't here cleaning. They also have a little baby together.

But honestly, 1 year ago I would not have allowed them in my house, based on what I read in Scn and the tone scale. But when I first met my cleaning girls (ladies) I only suspected they were lesbians. And as I got to know them, it came out in a conversation about honeymoons. And by then, I'd "fallen in love" with them and didn't care if they were purple martians. (Just to be clear, I'm a happily married heterosexual.)

I'm glad your parents were understanding, especially with all they were taught in Scn. You are very fortunate to have such understanding parents.

I look forward to more of your story.

Welcome Teckid!

Sounds like you have some really good parents!

I have had gay friends most of my adult life. I never disconnected with them while in $cientology. I knew they weren't 1.1. They are really nice people who I have always loved.

I have seen the way gay people were treated by people in $cientology.
It's a travesty. LRH's own son Quentin was gay and LRH still kept the gay bigotry alive within the cult.

$cientology's attitude is destructive on issues like this.

Welcome Teckid

It sounds like you had a wonderful family! There are smart people out there that don't let the "church" dominate their every opinion and action.

That being said, although your family is "cool", most likely you will find few on staff on in the SO that are. Most in my family,(I was raised by Scios too) REALLY REALLY dislike gays and think of it as extreme evil!!!! It's so friggin' idiotic but their so far gone they can't even question thier viewpoints on this issue!!!:duh: :duh:

We had a gay guy on staff in our Org. He was a hard worker, but......whenever a mission would show up, he would be removed from post because he was "out ethics" on the 2D. THEN, when they realized he was one of the few people they had on staff he would be reinstated. This merry go round continued for years and I think the guy is still there.

Talk about committment!!! Anyways, if LRH would hve kept his mouth shut on this issue I think tons of heartbreak would have been prevented over the years.

This just shows the danger of using "Source Think" instead of looking for yourself!!!!

I tried to understand this, but alas, I did not succeed.

He's saying: We are glad you are not gay cause we think you're hot and would like to chase you around.

Something like that lol

Welcome Teckid. I might also suggest exscientologykids.com

I personally think gay guys are great. The more men that are gay, the more women left for me to chase. :p

(That's a joke folks)

Hey and :welcome: to ESMB!

You know, I never could understand why scn was so harsh about gays.

As a Div 6 Reg, I had to refuse certain auditing and courses to several gays and lesbians, wtf!!

One of them, I was becoming good friends with, I'll never forget him. He was a Public and wanted help. He had just found out he was HIV-positive.

Then, due to the stupid policies, he was denied auditing and he faded away...wonder what happened to him.

You don't?

I tried to understand this, but alas, I did not succeed.

I understand it perfectly, Bea :whistling: (at least from my POV) - I'd certainly like to see you socially  maybe Kev would too, :confused2: perhaps he'll clarify his post later. :eyeroll:

Course, I'm too old for you...:coolwink: But if you come to Vegas, we could have a sasparilla or some mild beverage together; although Martinis would be my first choice. Ethics Particles with my level of experience will drink most anything if the company is right. :cheers2:  :arose: :happydance:

Hey Teckid, welcome to the board :) .

I know that you being gay in a Scn environment, would have been a lonely ride! Glad to see that you didn't go under because of it, and hope that others who had a similar experience to you, feel free enough to say hello.

Good to see you on the board!
Cheers,
SNC

A warm welcome Teckid - great to have you here.

I don't think anyone here gives a flying fuck about the sexual preferences of others. :happydance: And they call us the SPs! :duh:

Hey! right on!

So it seems that the c of is not a liberal kind of group now, is it?

Oh I forgot, they are "the elite". Wasn't that what they said? :eyeroll:

Thanks for saying that, Bea, it gives many of us guys the hope to continue.

I think there will be a big queue to squire Bea around Las Vegas. I'm
unfortunately too old to be attractive to this skinny Biker Chick. You're in with a chance though Kevin. :)

So sad.

Today I connected up a gay person to a Freezone auditor.

Anyone who wishes to condemn me for promoting 1.1 on the tone scale
bring it on. :)
