We all did, at one time.
Is there someone, other than you, who might gently suggest that your dad Google Scientology?
Or anonymously send him a copy of "Fair Game" or "A Piece of Blue Sky"?
He needs to begin to question some of his long-held false assumptions.
And not disconnect from you.
he is of the opinion that if you want to learn about scn, go to the church itself, and that ALL outside sources are liars. Of course people like Leah Remini or Mike Rinder have been far deeper in the church than he has. Dad was recruited by Rinder's brother.
if he was sent those books he wouldn't read them. scientologists are trained not to listen to outside sources.

IMHO, the only thing they can sue her for is libel...probably for defaming COB. Then, we'd have a bunch of ex-executives go on the stand and swear under oath that COB physically assaulted them. This would be even more 'entheta' for them and the celebrity press would have a field day.

No, they learned their lesson with Debbie Cook. That lawsuit backfired spectacularly and they quickly paid her off after her testimony about the 'hole' and being treated horribly.

You are correct. Any lawsuit trial would turn into a parade of ex-Scientologists testifying against Scientology. All on the public record.

Then would come testimony, under oath, of current Scn execs. Will they risk perjury?

Does DM really want to risk any current Sea Org member, sitting in open court, tossing his script and saying "I have been held against my will, and request protection so I can leave"?

Hi SonOfaSci.... I was never in, and don't know any Scientologists, so I'm not able to advise with expertise, but I'd like to know if you are able to spend any quality time with your Dad...or is he kept too busy by the CoS? I'm just thinking that, if you make the most of your time together, he may value your relationship enough to resist the pull deeper into the cult. .? Just a simplistic thought, I guess.

Hope all goes well.

ADDENDUM: What I'm saying is, even if getting him out is unrealiatic, just try to get as much time relating with him as you can within the constraints. If he's sure you're not trying to get him out, he might feel confident enough to maintain a good relationship.
