The way Scientology works is to convince someone something is wrong, and assure them they'll "fix" it for you. They'll even tell you you're "damaged" and evaluate how much, and how long it will take to repair, like a car.

Among the many many many troubles and idiocies involved with that so called science are that no one is damaged. No one can be fixed. And no one can tell what is going to happen to someone when they are dragged through the emotional gauntlet posted above, except that they'll send up with an aversion to understanding. The shell one must build around oneself with all that emotion exposed yet without truly seeing what's there is appalling. It runs all through the FZ crowd, like a mad dog. This is a group that supposedly is generous enough to lend their sweet reparations to us all, but doesn't know basic physical science and is very careful not to let any real ideas of note penetrate their skulls.
These offers of help are dreams of those in a reality shell wishing to be joined, not an offer of freedom. Freedom requires looking, understanding and being willing to see outside the box.

Years later in the early 70s I had Power run on me. At the time it was a fkn ball. I thought it was great. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! The more you get convinced of the wonderfullness of auditing, the more fucked you get in the long run called "life".

The Hubbard thing used to scream and rail about how careful the auditor needs to be in running Power on a PC. Well, I had known from years before that this Hubbard thing was not a very good auditor, and when I started delivering Power to PCs, well, to make it short, I found it to be one of the easiest rundowns to deliver, and sort of fun as an auditor...er...implanter.

A friend asked me to ride to Miami with her last night because she was scheduled to go to some squirrel seminar and didn't want to drive to Miami alone. I figured it might be fun and I didn't want her driving alone.

It triggered some menories of driving to Miami every weekend for several decades to participate in my own cult activities. I figured I would be right at home. It was scheduled at one of the posh hotels near the airport. That was familiar. We were running late. That was just like I remembered.

But once we got there it got really weird. Lots of talk about "Supreme transformation" of the planet and the "Eternal Light" and the "Great Process of Transformation" and "Great Cosmic Beings of Light". There was a room with about 30 people listening very sincerely and I felt like someone should just lift the curtain and start laughing, but there were absolutely serious about this stuff.

Then I realized how we must have looked to people who were new to Scientology and came to our "events". I was thinking "omg we were flippin' crazy" and I realized how stupid it was to try to get people to buy into it. And yet here they were, not Scientologists, but just as batshit crazy as we were, sincerely agreeing on the great gift and responsibility of having this information.

There's a complete line of products that you have to buy in order to do your part in this transformation, and my friends already has over five thousand dollars worth of this crap. She also has traveled to Colorado to get some enlightenement with these guys. Now there is a new and even more Cosmically connected resort in Hawaii. Starting next year they are going to have "courses". Joy!

I was disturbed and comforted at the same time. I realized that this need for a faithbased pretending to be scientific cosmic truth thing is more universal than I thought. I also felt I was peeking into a cult that has barely gotten off the ground but has successfully bilked a bundle out of the willing sheep already. I was thinking it's only a matter of time before they start having legal problems and PR problems and have to get more and more "creative" in their pitch.

I also realized that getting rid of lying destructive conning cults that prey on the hopeful and caring individuals of Earth, is a bit like popping pimples. There are some that are huge and even life threatening and others that are still looming under the surface, but there's an awful lot and you never know when and where another of these thing is going to pop up. Of course they will always be more prevalant on "Prom night".
