What's new

I have a new opinion about ESMB

I'm a coolhead most of the time.

Totally understand your upset. You came at a bad time.

it may be worth noting that non of this would have happened if Ken Urquhart and myself were not trying to up another auditors skills.
Such a crime!

In COS one does what is ordered. In the FZ, trying to correct someone is much harder. I try. You have experienced some of what I go though for doing this.

Re someone telling lies about you. I'm happy to help correct this despite the implication its a good friend of mine. Please mail me privately. You're on my forum and know how to contact me.

love

BB, what auditor or C/S training do you have? Gossip is what you and Ken got involved in, which by the way he already publicly apologized for. For he and you are not part of anybody's Qual department except in your minds.

You remind me of the fruit vendor women at the public market in my hometown.

Never knew the titles were customised.

Hey! How come you can say cunt and I can't say fuck?

Oh the unfairness of ESMB! I'm discriminated against! Baaaaaaawww.

I demand a separate forum on ESMB where exes can properly swear.

(I'm being facetious, in case that's not obvious)
.

The Success stories thread was always open to comment by anyone.

It is what Scientologists do.

It's good for everyone to see that, out on the screen, rather than inside their minds and unable to talk to anyone else, unable to question those success stories, or unable to scream "that's bullshit!".

We could never do that in the Church, and now that thread is no longer here to do that to, either because the board owner could no longer tolerate it.

The freedom of speech is the main thing that makes ESMB a therapeutic place for anyone who used to be connected to Scientology.

Without the freedom of speech for EVERYONE (except blatant trolling and outright spammers), ESMB is like Marty's blog - a place where the blog owner's views are the only ones tolerated.

Does freedom of speech and how effective it is for therapy mean that ESMB must be all things to all people?

Is what is *lost* by omitting this thread of enough value to impede the therapeutic value of ESMB?

Could freedom of speech be more effective without that particular thread, which is by it's nature is not about argument anyway (even though people did argue against the posts). Yes, that could be therapeutic, but whoever wrote the successes did not usually post them, and many would not have read the thread. If they did, would they bother arguing their way through a dogfight with someone who rubbished them for what they say was their "win". Did any of the success story writers ever do this? If not, then it is one sided freedom of speech; just enjoyment from throwing rotten tomatoes, which can be fun but might more fun with a good two-or-more sided argument.

By the way - "tolerate" is a verb. It is an action, and even a skill that one can get worse at, and better at.

So what was your point, exactly?
FZers might hang on to "the tech", but I also see some critics "hanging on" to something else.........Opposing views, but still blinkered and hampering, IMO.

I don't go along with the Freezoners in regard to their beliefs, but I also don't go along with the idea that they all have the same beliefs. Same applies to critics.

Just like it irks me when all critics are put into the same box, it also irks me to varying degrees when Freezoners, Independants and Scientologists are. The beliefs and practices of those in any "camp" do vary.......Sure, generally they do have much in common, but there's assholes and stupidity in each camp, IMO, and the critic camp isn't exempt from that. Obviously I have most in common with the critic "camp", but that doesn't mean that I believe act the same as other critics.

Okay Carm. So how does one unfetter oneself of blinkers?

Me too. And, we need more people who can survive being called 'stupid' without crying. God knows I get it enough, from all kinds of sides, and, it's good for me.

Zinj
Yeah, but finding an environment hostile and/or deciding to walk away coz it's one that no longer meets your needs, doesn't equate to not being able to survive being called 'stupid' without crying.

That's a tough one........

Maybe inspection of the aspect of one's own character that allowed the blinkers whilst "in", would be a start. One's "blinkers' or "blind spots" don't just miraculously disappear coz one is now "out". Unless specifically addressed, from my experience, they stay firmly in place.........Change of direction doesn't alter the "blinker" factor. :coolwink:

Ex- church members can most easily find this forum on a search - simply because it is an open forum and one does not have to be a member to view it.

The Freezone lists are closed lists - one must ask to become a member. And, as such are not so easily found by someone searching on the web.

People that leave the church and show up here run the gamut of those that are looking for others to commiserate with and have nothing but horror stories to tell - to those that got gains and wish to locate others that share that reality.

I highly doubt that anyone who left the church and found this site would somehow be "convinced to join the freezone because of any "promotion" on this list.

As you know, anony -I have found old friends here - most of whom are NOT FZers, but are friends nonetheless:)

As you know, the original format which has gone unchanged until now, is that many topics including freezone were acceptable. I bet she wrote that in when it was expected that somewhere between 1 - 2 freezoners would show up. ;)

Most people I know that have been Scientologists are intelligent and live successful lives. Even many exes on this board.

Can't speak for what you've seen in Sweden...

Soderqvist1: how you can believe in Scientology when Hubbard and his church have been so revealed on Internet doesn’t make sense!
Does it make sense to you that I have been a Scientologist here in Sweden 1982-1989 but not anymore because I have seen that Scientology makes people worse? Thus not both of us is perfectly sane, one of us is at least inconsistent with reality! You may claim that life-repair auditing is good, and I may agree, but that doesn’t detract from my statement that Scientology makes humans worse, anymore than a piece of bread that is usually good, but is not good for the fishes when it is used as bait in fishing! I am a fish who have just spitted out the hook, and recognized that was the right thing to do, because the bread is not what it seems to be, it’s bait on a hook. I will give you one example that Scientology makes people worse! Here is Sweden back in the eighties scientology had the effect on our minds that we lost our individuality and our touch with reality, and thus we was very easily
convinced by the church to go to financial institutes, and banks, and loan monies and give them to the church, it all ended up in chaos, and a police investigation was started, Conny Lundberg is an independent Scientologist and is talking about it here, that stupidity was not possible without Scientology!

There is for all practical means no demand for Scientology on the market. In example: If Ethics condition is something we cannot do without, then why is it not on the market?

This is exactly what is going on and it blew out of proportion to the point of ridiculousness...

I want to make clear, that despite all the flame wars between TO and me my comm lines are and have always been opened to her and to anyone else for that matter.

Diana

Thats a lie. I tried to get you both to some sort of reconciliation
and neither of you were willing.

You are a liar. I speak as a friend of both of you around 8 years.
