I love Scientology

Oh, I'm so proud! Now if we can just get him to stop chanting "Hip Hip Hooray!", I'll feel like the day is won.

Weelllll, ain't proud m'self. I'm not a FZer. Just say'n someone who seems so certain, and uses the title "I love Scientology" already sounds more similar to FZers than EXes. Just idle thoughts for fun.

I got out before the WWW existed, so I don't know what I would have done, but.....

Seems to me that a current Scientologist who actually has questions and is genuinely looking for answers would have lurked for a while, rather than finding the board and hopping right on here with a challenge to the members. And, if he had lurked for a while, he'd have read a whole BUNCH of threads that provided all of the viewpoints, stories and explanations that he purported to ask about - he could have then replied to a post or two with specific questions or comments about the post.

Just seems to me that starting out with a challenge, clearly without having read the board, is a statement that -- OSA or not -- the inquiry is not innocent. IMHO.

Think you're on the money there FM......"no static at all....." For Steely Dan fans, that is.

Well, this was the first post I made to Alt.Religon.Scientology in July of 1998. Still very much a Scientologist.

See if you can tell...

I started a thread called "A Show of Hands!!!"

OK!
Everybody!

How many people here want to destroy my religion????

I mean, we all know WHY by now. I've been reading these posts for years.
But, without all the justifications, and all the grandstanding - how many
people here have the courage to simply cop to it and say:

"YES. I WANT TO DESTROY YOUR CHOSEN RELIGION!!"

Anyone?

I got a lot of replies, just as egghead has done.

And look where I am today!

Exactly my point, Alanzo - you had already been reading the posts (and said so), and you said you already knew WHY these people wanted to destroy your religion. Egghead purports to want to find out "why" -- which he would have learned had he already read ANY of the posts on ESMB. You did exactly what I would have thought he should have done, had his thread been "innocent."

I agree Patte.

(When the actions do not match the words, it gives lie to both the words, and the actions.)

----------------

I would also like to take one moment to say to any Sci members that may be lurking......

Please do not think that I (or the other ESMB people) acted any differently than we (as a group) usually do, on any given day.

There are living breathing people behind these names & profiles. The people on this board (as I have experienced) are sincere in their desire to help in anyway they (I) can.

If you chose to say in the Org, or if you chose to leave, I personally will respect ANY choice you make.

All I ask is that it be YOUR choice. Not for my sake, for your sake.

(sorry to get off-topic on this reply).

Definitely agree with that!

It is my sense that most of us are completely willing for each of us to hold our own beliefs and are happy to discuss why we have those beliefs, and to listen to why "you" hold another belief. We are indeed humans, and individuals, and I think the disputes that arise on occasion on this board are only due to someone feeling (rightly or wrongly) that he or she has been made wrong for having their beliefs, where they feel (rightly or wrongly) that someone is trying to push them off of their beliefs -- for whatever human reason. In general, our discussions are the result of genuine interest and caring.

I'd hazard a wild guess Egghead is 18 years old, just did a TRs Course (or whatever is the intoductory service these days), got massive wins on TRO (if they still use that), went off to form a rock band (like Beck) to make shitloads of bucks to pay for his 'Bridge'. Then he forgot to just say know when someone passed him a bong of good bud. Next he's staring at ESMB on his screen (maybe even thinking 'what would Ron do?') wondering 'Why not?'. 30 seconds later he's registering as Egghead and then all this, us lot running around like we've just hooked something big worth playing with.
He'll regret it all in the morning - and next time he's on a meter!:coolwink:

Anyway I gotta say I love Scientology too for bringing so much fun and loveable witty people into my life.
But I think I love the internet even more.:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Obviously you haven't read KO1997, (Kev's Order, 1997) Re-re-revised, 2002, which goes a little like this (altered):

"The FreeZone bypasses the Church of Scientology, immediately putting it in a danger condition.

ARC

KGB
Supreme Dilletante
Commander of the Psychlo Invader Fleet
White Ranger of Marcab"

True. What's the definition of "squirrel" or "squirrel group." How are you bypassing that as a Scientologist?

I'm not. I've never had a session or training on matters relating to Scn outside of the CoS. I've mostly been inactive except for occasionally using Self Analysis or some of the other basic books as they were originally intended.

I find that "squirrel" is a meaningless term. For one thing, CofS constantly makes revisions to tech- stuff LRH never heard of. And they do this while telling everyone that only LRH is Source. So that's a meaningless stupid distinction.

There are only Scn'ists who are tech purists and Scn'ists who aren't tech purists. When Egghead becomes a member of a group composed of the former (which isn't the case with CofS) then Egghead can make a charge of "squirrel" stick- not that this would stop me.

Don't you guys ever sleep? The sun is supposed to never set on Scientology.
That doesn't mean that ex-Scientologists can take a break.

Sounds like this guy is just "volunteering" at some Org as a way to get
back in good graces until he can pay off his freeloader debt. My guess
is that since he/she's not really doing any services, then he may somehow
be off the radar of the local Ethics Officer or Osa guys at the moment.
Otherwise they would put a stop to this right away.

The eggman seems like a lot of blokes who joined up without really
knowing the score, or ever really having done much auditing or training.
Well meaning and falling for the "image" and "idea" rather than
the reality. Just like the other "over-zealous" chaps who cannot be blamed for
the church falling apart.

Not everyone who is in CofS and who posts to critical forums is OSA.Sometimes CofS members just find their way to a forum and start posting to it, out of interest/curiosity/hoping to "witness" for their religion, etc.

Not to beat a dead horse but.....ANY scio who is in an says he NEVER saw force and duress used for regging and recruiting is outright lying! Even when I was totally in I saw cycles that made my toes curl.

Also, he routed out of staff no problem? A very close family member routed out after 8 years!!! and we WENT THROUGH HELL even though the contract WAS COMPLETED!!!!

I have known Scns for whom both are true.

Someone who wasn't on public lines much at all (and who is either 2nd gen or became staff very quickly) wouldn't necessarily have experience with the hard sell reg cycles. I mostly saw it in backlash form. I personally never had brutal reg cycles. (A good Tone 40 "not now" seemed to work just fine :eyeroll:)

Also, I do know people who routed off without a lot of hassle. I didn't have a lot of hassle, but I did give up somewhere in the latter part of the routing form.

Same here. It really depends on how immersed one becomes in CofS, and where one does services and maybe, too, how observant one is or is not.

It is your battle. Look at the double triangle and S symbol - one triangle for ARC and the second for KRC - Knowledge, Responsibility and Control. It is very definitely your battle to make the Church what you would expect it should be.

But if you do you will find you are no longer wanted.

An interesting experiment (one that will not go over well). I assure any active Scn that it will be enlightening.

1) Go to every staff member.
2) Ask when they last were on enhancement.
3) Ask what auditing or course they last completed -- and when that was.

Can't have the KRC without the K.

Oh, and you can't have it without the R either, which was really your point.
