Ideal Orgs - Booming or bust?

Lulu_belle,

brilliant post. I feel tempted to put New York on the bust list, as expansion requires routing people up the Bridge and not a mere book sale on a stress test.

I agree with you there. NY org got stuck on the book sales and does nothing else. In fact the org is totally empty. This is why they have all staff and public out in the streets selling books since they opened the doors of their new building = they are trying to get people.

NY org got announced in many events as the Mecca of book sales. All orgs from around the globe started sending their staff to get trained in NY org on how to boom an org by book sales, but they are struggling.

Millions of dollars spent on the building and renovation to become a paperback bookstore.

Lame… :duh:

You know what isnt false...

The tons of money CofS make and real estate they buy!

Profit is not DMs problem... for every 1 Sci that goes out 1 comes in...

Actually I think the trend is downwards. Not as steeply as it should be but downwards nonetheless.

Granted they don't expand but Bart Simpson donating 10 mill isnt going to make em smaller either.

So what is the solution?
If at the same size (or smaller) they CAN continue to amass so much money?

MR

The answer to your question is simple - when the IAS started it changed the fundraising paradigm in the cofs. Hubbard would never have stood for it - that fat fraud at least wanted to sell something, he wanted to deliver Scientology.

Miscavige has found that the faithful, when they are faithful, will just give the money. Lost of money in, no need for delivery.

The last data I have about "Ideal Orgs".

Stevens Creek took about 2 years to actually be completed and moved in to.

If I remember correctly, it was $1000 per person to attend a dinner to get Pasadena Org their Ideal Org.

What is with the "have" before the "be" and "do"?

Same at SF Org...
They have a new building (3 years new)
New uniforms
New basics too

still the place is empty..

Last I heard they had started another campaign to yet buy another building!!!
Always with the saying "well we do not have enough space to boom, we need more space for all the OTs and univer core, blah blah blah..."

Universe core since 99 and still nothing.

Many people who joined in 2003 (1st mission) and 2006 (2nd mission) their contracts are about to expire. I know of at least three very good terminals who as soon as their contracts were up they were OUT!

And I know that this summer marks the 2.5 year mark for some 20 people who joined and another 10 who had signed a 5 year contract in 2003.

I say at least 25 of those people leave.... any bets?

As of just over a month ago the Cont Orgs of LA Day and Fdn had WDAHs of about 35 and 11, respectively. Their stat OICs are posted for all to see in the 4th floor hall. The WDAHs for both orgs have been in a long downtrend since last summer. Last summer Day had a few weeks over 110 hrs, Fdn far less. Day's only Cl VI didn't renew her contract after 5 yrs of incredibly hard work. The Day CS, Nancy Clitherow, Cl VI,(OT III?) died of cancer over a year ago and her replacement, Koko Tabibdezah, Cl VIII, OT VIII, didn't renew her contract last winter after 2 1/2 yrs. Needed to handle a family sit.

At least one of these orgs at one time was awarded St Hill Size. Very far from it now for both.

WDAH includes Purif, but Purif are counted at half. (Every 2 hours of Purif counts as one hour) WDIC is WDAH minus Purif Hours.

Thanks. So maybe they had zero hours in the chair.

I bet Paul's Robot Auditor does more hours than most of the orgs on the planet. :)

Well, NYC org's book stats are about to go down. Anonymous is getting their booksellers kicked out of the subway and now they will have to get permits for their tables on the sidewalks or get more fines. Those fines sure hurt the bottom line. :D

We should print up some "Way to Happiness" booklets care of Anonymous and/or Ex-Scientologists, or even "Alan Walters", and hand them out to the SciFags, along with a "Way to Happiness" chit that you can fill out on the spot with date, time and precept....like "Don't do anything illegal." MoralFag the MoralFags, as it were....

Might be lulz.

Anyway to track your hours? Might be fun to post the weekly WDAH's at 2pm on Thursdays. :)

You could even drop DM/INT a friendly note on how your hours are going. :D

Stats or GTFO!

I have no good way of quantifying them, as there is no requirement that people report in when they've done a session. But I would be surprised if it was less than five hours a week. A couple of weeks ago there was one guy doing that all by himself, according to the after-session reports he was sending in. Maybe he still is but isn't reporting it now.

Booming or not, the pay seems to be insufficient. Read this email posted over at whyweprotest

"Looking for additional income!!! I am an Executive staff member at an
Ideal Org as well as a single parent. I require additional income to fully
support my young child.
My qualifications are: I am definitely in excellent standing with the
Church! I love speaking with & helping Beings! Also; Exec Status II, recent
Power Plus Release, Class IV, KTL/LOC & Ethics Specialist Grad.

Sales positions via Mobile phone and/or Internet would be a definite job
possibility!!! I am seeking a Base & Commission position with no outlay of
expense required.

My schedule ideally would be evenings & weekends, however, it could also be
arranged for @ 20 hours during any days from Monday through Saturday; so
schedule can be FLEXIBLE!

I do have HCO okay to make this above work:)

Thank for your insight Iknowtoomuch.
Can we exclude the possibility of Ideal Orgs execs moonlighting? Does anyone have reliable information on this?

Let's be real — those staff not in a Sea Org base have to live, and very few are going to be able to survive on the regular pay they get through FP, unless there is some special arrangement whereby some "essential" staff member like maybe the ED hogs a disproportionately-large percentage of the salary sum.

I disagree with IKTM's assessment. I don't see that statement as essentially fake at all.

If I remember right from my days on staff - the ED got 10 points, the Execs got 8. The rest of us got 4, and I believe only 2 before you were fully trained up for your post, and if you were on full-time training - and not hatted for your post, only 1.5 points. Thats before adjustments for your condition which could move it up or down by 20% (may have remembered this wrong - possibly +/- 2 points?)

The points went up and down wildly - so $50 seemed like a royla fortune but more likely was $10-$25 range - on 4 points. Too frequently it was less than $5.

Before the Ideal Org, moonlighting was common - and mostly overlooked.
I can't say that Ideal Org staff are moonlighting, though a lot are the same people, and their circumstances havent changed that much.

i.e. if not moonlighting then:
1) with a partner who isn't on staff and pays for them.
2) with partner who is on staff and is also an exec
3) in cheap accommodation with 4/5 (or more) other staff members sharing everything - lounge space turned over to a bedroom, and sometimes providing cheap accom for visiting Sclions who don't have the funds for the local Marriott.

So none can fund themselves on Ideal Org pay alone.
