Resource: E-Meter Reads Drill Film

Jonathon Burke has put together the first independent Meter Reads Drill film. The film has been a labour of love and has been created through recording real sessions, with only a few “demo” reads.

Reviewed by many, tweaked, refined and made available – this film is the first E Meter Reads Drill film in the Independent film – and in the words of Dan Koon: "Holy freaking cow, Jonathan! You did it! Wow. Really well done. I think these reads are more real than the film in the church from my memory of it. Incredible....The church has nothing on the independent field."

As of today there have been 600 views of the film, from Italy to the US, from Russia to South Africa. The film has been viewed in 28 countries so far.

Gawd. If a bunch of Cheapzoners can waste 738 hours working on just one facet of Blubbard's lies, how long before they show the world a Muth****king Clear?

Ah well, everyone needs a hobby, however strange.

Can't say that I'm overly impressed with the meter reads movie. That F/N wasn't free enough for my liking, still had too many reads in it. The other missing element is the preclear's face - one needs to see reads in conjunction with pc indicators.

holy fuck... I'm officially dying of laughter. I did watch some of the film, and only kept watching because I was sort of amazed by the fact that I felt compelled to say how badly the assessment TRs sucked (just seeing how I still have some cultie in me; I try not to forget that, lest I fall into it). Also thought wtf with all the credits at the beginning... and I was also stunned that folks supposedly putting together a training vid would add all the low-end 'effects' and new age music that would totally detract from the supposed purpose of it being a training vid.

I think why they haven't had the # of comments here is that most people really didn't want to waste their time watching this thing (you are smart folks--didn't miss a thing)... uh, and I was playing Plants vs. Zombies back and forth in disbelief, so... omg... I'm sorry. It just kills me that I was once in that mindset--where you freaking try to put anything happening into a stat mode that reassures you about Scientology.

and wondering about the person lurking here to pass on the info.... hmmmmmmmmm..... and wondering how superior they feel to us SPs. What can I say...? I just had an awesome day today even though life is blowing up. Life is chaotic... but I met with someone wonderful that is interested in creating theatre projects with me, and I'm just...
uh, 'dare I say it?' kinda happy... and more in touch with life than I've ever been after having my ruds flown.

I'm pretty much convinced that a floating needle shows when somebody dissociates... I flash back to having floating TA's, and that stuff was just so obviously .... wish I could describe it. When I have an emotion now, I really have it. When you felt 'really good' in Scio, it seemed to come from Scio, and it was coming from a place where I felt sad that other beings didn't feel it, and once they were "in" they could experience the same.

Fuck me. Such look-down-upon, hyperbolic BS.

Lol, well ... lets be honest Leon, while pretending to be a therapist you only need to see the 'PC indicators' ...

:coolwink:

I'm surprised they didn't at least make it in a different shape to the cofs meter, I'd have thought that would be looking for trouble? Lol.

I wrote several posts about Freezone Tech Films back in 2004. They are indexed at http://fzglobal.org/writings.htm under "FZ Tech Films #01-10." This was before the free distribution of videos via YouTube and Vimeo etc.

From #2 at http://fzglobal.org/w040422-040521.htm#017:

I would love to see a FZ tech film that shows twenty different F/N's on
different people in different circumstances and different meters, all
the way from a fleeting F/N up to a floating TA. It's not too hard to
spot an unkillable dial-wide F/N on a beaming pc who couldn't care less
that a student auditor is peering at it for ten seconds before calling
it. But if that is the only kind of F/N shown on a "Tech film" (like
on the CofS Meter Reads films I saw), then whoever made that film is
not really trying to make auditors as life isn't like that.

I would like to see people bickering on this [Yahoo Groups] list that the fifth
supposed theta-bop on the third Meter Reads movie from Jill is really
an F/N, and Sam's movie showing a session set-up and model session
omits moving the pc's chair to exert session control and he ought to
reshoot that bit and edit it in before he sells any more of his $5
DVD's on eBay.

Since writing that 9 years ago I have changed my mind about the usefulness of a meter in auditing. But if you must use one then I still think it would be better to have far more videos out there, preferably ones packing in more reads and less added-inapplicable "production values." In 2013 it is far easier to make videos showing meter reads and auditing basics than in 2004, and now one can put them online for free. I've had videos online showing various metering effects since 2009 in my ESMB channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/esmbdof.

People I trained to audit - I would show them how to keep the needle on the dial with their thumb and then I send them into session auditing Self Analysis or something and just let them get used to seeing what the meter does. They soon come out telling me excitedly about the F/Ns and long falls etc that they saw. Worked well.

The e-meter is an aid. It should never be more than that.

AH! But then I am not a faux therapist. In fact I am not any kind of therapist at all. I am a Scientology auditor.

ah.

So finally we get to the truth. You are a scientology "auditor" which is an undefined field of endeavor with no discernible or publiched results and a rtack record of complete failure punctuated by an occasional "success".

Yep, you sure as hell ain't any kind of "therapist", not even a "faux". Maybe a wannabe.

WTF? Just WTF. I saw part of the video and man were there a bunch of jerky reads and non flowing f/ns. The falls were two stage. I just don't get it. Both the FZ and the COS videos are seriously lacking. Why not show 2, 3 or more examples of each read? I mean, really? Not all falls are the same - some times the needle is moving when the read occurs. How many different shades of F/N's has any auditor seen?

Why not take videos of actual, non staged, sessions and make up a video of the reads you find there? Much more realistic. So you show the pc live? Why not? Even if you have to pixelate the face, is still would be better than a meter dial hovering in space with no context of what is going on. The auditor asks a question and the pc's needle goes dirty. Or tight. or loose. The pc talks and it reads. or you assess a correction list and it reads - or f/n's or whatever. That's educational. It puts it in context.

Why follow the meme Hubbard uses on his films? I hated watching those e-meter films at every 6 mos check. They just weren't real. The f/ns looked like a computer simulation, for example.

And as long as ESMB has such a reputation of tearing anything good apart, how bout this:

The basic of what is wrong with e-meter drill films is FILM SPEED. 24 frames per second is toooooooo slow to accurately portray meter reads. if you have ever watched the E-meter drill film - especially the rockslam read - if you look closely you don't see the motion of the needle. Just random images of the needle popping up here and there, like low quality cartoons.

See this link:

If the FZ is going to brag about how wonderful their training films are, they better make them better than this one.

appears to be a problem in the church and tech with the communication formula, namely duplicating.

You'd think they would be able to show some the e-meter in actual real life scenes so that others could duplicate what is going on with the e-meter.

conclusion - guesswork. :roflmao:
