INT BASE vs HUMAN RIGHTS

I guess I owe you – something for sure. I do not have a ‘story” – Int is not a story. And definitely not my story. It is an essence of all that is wrong with scientology. And one way I thought I could express it, would be by what it is not.

Let me start the “story” of the Int Base vs Human Rights with a kids a booklet on the Declaration of Human Rights produced and donated to the Base by Tom Cruise. It was on exhibit on a nice red velvet covered stand in MCI (the dining hall) and all crew were supposed to stand there and admire diligently how nice it was. And I got this odd idea to read it, because I had some sort of recollection from my pre-scietology life that this declaration was not quite the pattern of the way of life at the Base.

Now since then, as you may also know, a series of 30 videos have been produced there for “Youth for Human Rights International” which is really just another recruitment and self advertising front group of the Church.
So, I thought I would look at these human rights in view of their application at the Base, as you might be interested, and to some of the luckier ones of you, this may be new.

Let’s see for example, the right to privacy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_SlatvGWbA

Now to the application side of the same at the Base: how is this for privacy for the same infamous MCI to have all crew sit there and be presented with the shots of a girl in session at the base HGC and be told to be abhorred by the disgusting behavior of the girl sitting there, and have it be explained to us that she, after of course having horrible withholds and having messed up, and not done her job, and blah and blah, now she has the cheek to sit there feet up on the auditing table. (Good thing that sec checks are not auditing, so of course, no secrecy is required. And a wise thing to set up auditing rooms with video cameras, so you have something to show the crew instead of movies.) At this point of course abhorrence is mandatory, and compliance is instant. A few hundred staff sit there and abhor on command. Much more like Two Minutes of Hate in Orwell’s 1984 than the PSA.

Or how is it for privacy ho have a muster for all crew to be briefed, that is these times, when we all should "trim our sheets” and tighten up and work every minute and more, a couple (by name) dared to have plans to get married. And, oh my god, they had a secret rendezvous in the night under the guise of “burning the midnight oil” working late in the night (meaning after 12 p.m.) one of them pretended to take some people home by car just so THEY can meet and engage in 2D activities. And this, so everyone was told emphatically, is disgustingly non-team. To put the 2nd dynamic ahead of the 3rd. When the 3rd in is danger, and when we have a planet to save. So again, everyone to abhor on command. Then come the details on how the offender messed up on post because of thinking of their beloved one. At a time when the planet is in urgent need of salvaging. Oh, and these are metered interview notes, by the way, thank god we have the tech and these things can be done on a 21st century level now. So then the two offenders get to be avoided like lepers. And breakers of the excommunication agreement are watched for and singled out by the MAAs as having mutual out ruds with them or else why be so friendly? This is how you become a noperson or internal fair game. The rest are now allowed and required to degrade, scream at and torture the offenders in other ways to thereby force them to “reform”.

Nice privacy, is it not? Just please do not let the rest of the world in on this, because they are so uninformed, and so in need of salvaging, that with their unenlightened minds they would not see with the same crystal clarity how right this was.

These are just two examples – we had more along that line. Musters were turned into long and agonizing public degradation sessions, so to list just a fraction of them would fill volumes – I won't even try.

But as there are more human rights that can be violated, there will be more to come.

Thank you Black Sun. the Hippocracy is staggering!

I did not know of these things, even though being a public scientologists for over 30 years, until I pulled the string on the anonymous phenomena, and immediately exteriorized from the cult with no desire to go back in.

I was and am outraged.

Thanks Black Sun,

I was on lines on a six month "refresher" at flag just over a year ago, those lovely clips played in a loop for the whole four weeks I was there in the HGC, AO4 I think.

One Saturday night I got out of session very late, around 10pm, the board ICs were cleaning. I went to see one to get my schedule for the next day. We talked for a couple of minutes and she laughed at something I said. Her phone rang, it was security telling her to get back to work, they had seen her in of the hundreds of cameras "talking". This was after she had been on post since 8am, I know she had not had a day off in over two years.

The staff are restricted to the base or berthing and cannot even walk on the streets, personal mail is read coming in and going out by censors, phone calls are listened to, berthing inspections can occur while staff is at work.

The church is a big advocate for human rights.

It has been a major factor to me departing from the church. I look forward to your posts on this subject.

Dear Black Sun, Welcome !!!!

Like dchoiceisalwaysrs -

I was in for 25 years and attested to OT VII one year ago. I knew some things were not right but had always thought it was local mgt or someone misapplying the tech.

Last year when at Flag, I saw the insanity of the Basics push at its extreme - I cogged right then that this must be coming from DM himself .

But it was not until the anomymous phenomena that my 2D ( like dchoiceisalwaysrs ) pulled the string and after 4 months of pulling - we had no doubts or reservations about publicly leaving the organisation !

We went through the gamut of emotions - after 25 years of loyal dedication and following their stupid policies to the letter - soul searching for the honest truth so as to "as is the case" - we found out the real TRUTH and were shattered.

Please, please continue to write up your story about Int base - the source of the perpetuation of this insanity . The public need to know and this forum is one of the only sources of such vital information. The more stories there are with as many facts as possible make it less easy for the initiated to just brush them aside as "another PTS or SP"

Thank you for sharing !!!

Please do. I urge you to expose the human rights abuses that this 'church' inflicts on others.

Your post really capture the insanity that is Scientology SO!!! As a public, I remember sitting through some of these at an event and wondering WHY these right did not apply to Scientologists. I remember one about being held involuntarily or something like it. I had just come from another BRUTAL staff recruit torture session and it struck me that I had no human rights in my own friggin "church".

Looking forward to more...............

What's wrong with recruitment lines? I'm sure over 80% of the SO has no business in the SO. It's all about quals now, not about being an "elite scientologist" or OT operating on upper dynamics.

I understand the apparent human right violations but all I see are people who should not be in the SO in the first place. I include DM in my statement.

The Jesuits are the SO of the Catholic Church, hard-core Christians, trained to the max and founded by a military officer along military lines and have been the most causative group in that Church with their schools and universities. The SO should do well to emulate the Company of Jesus.

Thanks for posting Black Sun.

Of all the data that communicates, data from INT confirming the extent of the atrocities and where they stem from, is very impinging and tops the lot IMO.

It's so valuable, and it has the effect of freeing so many from the trap.

Looking forward to seeing more posted.

I understand this is happening. It is very hard for me to fathom. When I think about the ideals I had as a scientologist, and about the dedication I gave to that organization, it completely blows my mind the extent to which they betrayed that trust.

The Church of Scientology is in a condition of Treason to their staff and public. Hubbard was in the same condition. The unmitigated gall of Miscavige and those who perpetrate these abuses on their idealistic "crew" and staff is, frankly, astonishing. Except that it's also old hat to me. Every once in a blue moon, though, someone blows my mind with an even worse story.

To paraphrase our Zinjifar, "Scientology: it's always worse than you think".

I'm so sorry you went through this. I'm so sorry the people you are telling stories about are going through this. For my part in it, I am so very, very sorry.

There's nothing more I can say. Please continue.

The SO is 1984 brought to life. Some of the stories recently on this board have been especially disturbing. The hypocrisy of those videos is just beyond belief. You have to wonder what Tom Cruise really knows about what goes on. I don't have a lot of sympathy for him at this point. Welcome out. Post more when it seems right for you.

It is just like how Black Sun describes it. Hour after hour, day after day, year after year.

An interesting tidbit about OSA Int and Int Base: I know of two ex-OSA Int people who, after some time on the Int Base, were begging to be able to go back to OSA, for "it was much more sane there." DM's response: You wish -- you're not going back to your happy-go-lucky easy life at OSA Int!

As to the similarities and differences between the RPF and Int: A great number of people find the RPF a holiday after having been to the Int Base. You get 6-7 hours of sleep, enhancement, extroverting MEST work! The "instant ethics penalties" issue (for out-etiquette, backflash, case on post, presenting a problem, etc.) on the Int Base is based on the RPF FOs, but much more extensive; they include all possible penalties ranging from pushups and running around the building, to docked pay, overboarding, rice and beans assignments, ethics announcements at muster, "team share" card revocation, etc, etc. ad infinitum. Of course there isn't an "instant ethics rewards" issue -- why would anyone need such a thing?

The often-asked question "why don't people just leave" has another angle to it, too. When that type of life is all you know and you are virtually completely shut off from the rest of the world -- a world which is only described through Scn propaganda filter -- you have no real comparison. After years or decades, it becomes sort of "normal" that things are insane. You are made to believe things are more insane in the world at large. And others around you have the same demands on them, yet they keep on going, so why would you be any different? (Group agreement at its best.)

When you are a Sea Org member, you are an OT. When you are an OT, you are above mere human, so why would you even expect human rights to apply? That's such childish foolishness -- a typically humanoid weakness.

I distinctly remember one confrontation I had not long before I left the Base. A co-worker stopped me to give me an "ethics talk" -- you are expected to be constantly alert for any out-ethics symptoms and preferably personally handle on the spot; really dig in to the crimes of your fellow staff in trouble to "get to the bottom of their out-ethics" -- she was saying that "she didn't get it" -- I was a Sea Org member, wasn't I? I knew it is not a walk in the park. Planet Earth was just the training ground; out "in the universe" it was going to be much tougher. So what was I wining about "being so enturbulated all the time I can't even do my job?" It made no sense to her. I needed to grow up, park the bank (reactive mind), be an OT, not this namby-pamby diletantte and sensitive person. She really thought this was the right thing to say.

I guess I should be thankful for that -- she made me take another step closer to the door.

Very true. Once I did try to leave properly, saying that I do want to leave. I was put to MEST work, lived at OGH. It was such a relief. I loved doing physical work, we did get sleep, got to study, and went in session. I eventually got "handled" pretty quick (gave in to the first person who was nice to me). I told them though that I don't want to go back to post. Somehow it still happened so I had some more horrible years ahead of me...

Thanks for your replies - I will be back with more as soon as I get through to doing it. It takes a bit of confront on my part too, because my first reaction when I got back to free life was to push all this out of the picture as far as possible... But now I decided that this was no good, and the world should find out about these things.

Imagine this scenario:

A TV program, in OZ I expect, it opens with the film on
privacy in the OP. Next a COS PR [ Karin Poew?] gets to comment.
Then some of our Oz members here get get brought in to comment on the culling of folders and the use of this against protesters, and document this.

Then the whole panel get to answer questions on the area.

Someone should get the Pope's comment on the Church of Scientology. Include a comparison between "Priest to Penitent" relationship in the two different Churches, and ask his comment on how he feels it's being handled in the Cof$.
