I am impressed, that doesn't happen easily!
This list was compiled in 2007 although some areas may be outdated (for example Mike Rinder is no longer in). It contains a wealth of resources for people leaving scientology and seeking the truth of what happened to them.
There are other sites as well now, please add to the list.
ps Thanks Mary!
Great a mundo Mary, you Rock, Do you think there are people out there who are saying Scientology and a military church are Dangerous? MUCH!
Fantastic, impressive how many there are.
Still working on the broken links, there were quite a few. Mostly I have found the correct site but can't find these. If you can, PM me and I will update the first post.
Burning Bridges by Cathering Jacob. (was on xenu.net)
FYI, Free To Shine should get the thanks, for straightening out my old mess, deleting dead links and formatting them as we update. That is the task I avoided for a few years, lol
Thanks Mary but you did all the hard work. I think there are some I need to update the OP with? Then again they are in the thread.
Perhaps we can eventually put the site links in alpha order to make it easier to organize
I never realized there was so much material 'out there' that was critical of Scientology. Wow. I mean, I've visited quite a few of those sites but there are so many more still to see -- and more with each month that passes.
In subjective questions such as those of sanity and morality, society reflects the opinions and values of the majority.... and here we have a huge mass of opinion about Hubbard, Dianetics and Scientology, and none of it good, as far as I can tell.
Sure, the 'Church' has tried to counter this with its propaganda and that of its false-flag operations such as Narconon and Religious 'Freedom' Watch, but the body of evidence that damns the Scientology UFO cult is staggering.
I can't imagine that access to information will be less pervasive in the future. Rather, more and more of what we do will involve Internet access. Even now, a person who doesn't use the Internet is disadvantaged in many ways. Organized Scientology is making itself extinct through a Luddite approach to information access, while the majority is forewarned about LRH and his crazy schemes.
So, keep on blogging and commenting - please! Who could have imagined, in the mid-80's, that Scientology could be undone so swiftly and thoroughly?
Here you go. . I didn't try and correct any of the dud links. The board software will shorten how long links appear by putting ". . ." in the visible post even though the actual link will be as originally posted. In other words, if you want to preserve the original list, hit "quote" and copy that rather than what appears on the screen.
I don't know how you want to categorise these. I mostly kept the original categories. To change it, all you have to do is:
0. Use some word-processing software that will sort paragraphs automatically for you (MS Word or OpenOffice Writer, for example)
1. Start a new paragraph for each new URL
2. Put the URL first! Add any description you want after the URL, but keep it in the same paragraph
3. Edit in or out the sites you want to group together, a new paragraph for each URL
3. Select the chunk of sites you want to sort
4. Hit "Sort."
