Introduction from a long-time lurker...

Hello ESMB!

I just wanted to introduce myself, and say hello.

I first stumbled upon ESMB and OCMB just before the DDOS attacks. I was reading a thread in one of the other MB's I frequent, and it linked me here.

I was fascinated!

It literally took me WEEKS of reading (with a handy acronymn chart) to get through all of the information.

I am still stunned by it all.

Then all the protests started happening, and KEPT happening. And I've seen more and more ex's post their stories here.

I just wanted to mention:

I am always touched by the compassion and empathy shown to new members telling their stories here on ESMB. (Bea's was the first one I read. What an amazing woman!)

The actions of the CoS still surprise me. I guess I still can't believe they've gotten away with all they have, and still get away with it to this day!

I wish I could do more to expose the CoS!

I suppose I'm a wog. I am an ex-mormon (excommunicated at the age of 12); and a former heroin addict (14 years using; 8 years clean now). I see some similarities from my life to what the ex's have gone through, and some serious differences.

I realize I'm kind of an outsider, so if I post something disrespectful...please let me know.

Welcome to ESMB, Notreallyanybody. There's lots you can do to expose the CofS; depends how much you want to get involved. Hand out fliers; put up posters; put videos on YouTube; make comments on media websites; picket your local Scn org, etc. etc. :)

Hey there and welcome to ESMB! It's nice that more lurkers are coming forward and logging in, now

Glad to see you here and keep reading, would love to hear your experiences, too!

With recent news events highlighting the splinter Mormon group, I have a lot of people asking me about the LDS religion.

I give them the insight I might wish to share, then I can seque nicely into...

"if you think these Mormons are cult like, check out Scientology! 10 times worse!"

I would love to picket, but my 2 year old and my 9 month old keep me very busy.

Welcome to ESMB! Glad to see some one is reading all this stuff we put up. The terminology can be hard. Even I have trouble sometimes.

I realize I'm kind of an outsider, so if I post something disrespectful...please let me know.

Notreallyanybody.

Just remember to never, EVER say anything bad about the leader - L. Ron Hubbard OR David Miscaviage. Or you will be declared a suppressive person immediately, by the ESMB ethics officer!

Just kidding. I hate those jerks.

Welcome

It would be hard to offend us Notreallyanybody. As you probably can see from our posts we have put up with an awful lot for amazingly little already. Welcome!

There's no such things as "wogs". You would be slightly more normal than some here, slightly less than others. Welcome.

Hi Notreallyanybody :)

I'm not really anybody either, perhaps related :D

Anyway, welcome. You're only a wog to a Scientologist, so don't worry too much about all that.

Glad you found us, gives me hope that the anti-Co$ message is getting out there.

As for what you can do to contribute - well , in my opinion, educate those you know (even if its just to point them here), especially your children. They'll thank you one day.

:)

Hi there Notreallyanybody!! But you ARE somebody right?:D You are very welcome here on ESMB for sure. It's fantastic that even though you've not been a victim of the cult, you can see what's what. You are NOT an outsider and we all appreciate that you wish to help, it's great and very welcome. Also, you're NOT a WOG! That's just scientology terminology to make scientologists feel more 'elite' which of course we all know now is a bunch of crap. Sounds like you've had an interesting life too! Indeed, religion of any kind do tend to separate people not to mention start wars! But here, we are all now free (well most of us) to think for ourselves. Looking forward to some more of your posts.

Welcome!:happydance:

It makes me really happy whenever I see that even those that have never been in $cio read these boards!

Great job on being drug free!! You are one tough cookie!!

Welcome, Notreallyanybody (NRA)!

Well done on your 8 years being drug free.

NRA. Now that's funny! I'll never be able to legally own a firearm again!!! :duh: (not really a big loss in my eyes....now)

Thanks. It was a lot of hard work to shake the monkey off my back (and still is). It took quite a while for the whole zombie-junkie thing to kinda break away and turn my world from a horrid black and white nightmare into the vibrant technicolor it is today. (best way I can explain it!)

Again, thank you for all the kind welcomes. Nice to be in the presence of such amazing people.

The "NRA" thing really was just how your name shortens down.

I know about that "monkey". I kicked my drug habit (coke) 23 years ago as of May 15th. And I did it on my own. No Scn help on that - was before I got in. The only thing Scn did in regards to my drug history - the purif handled the cravings I still got and the Drug Rundown answered "why" I did the drugs in the first place.

But on rare occasions if I'm listening to Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, I can still be reminded of those "wasted" days.

Yes, I also find it never quite goes away. (Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb does it for me).

Can you explain the Drug Rundown to me in English? I've read about it....but the Scientologese makes it difficult for me to fully comprehend.

Also, everything I've read about the Purif seems great if you're not actually in drug withdrawl and are physically able to handle it. (I think had I been exposed to that when I was kicking heroin it would've killed me.) But I've never actually done it. I would welcome any insight,.
