The whole "looking in" thing doesn't appeal to me. I was a very outgoing, social, free thinking, intelligent and focused person before scn. Of course, some of that is just youth, but I'd like to be completely rid of this whole looking in mindset once and for all and just look out all the time and judge based on what I see, like my life before scn.
A mental health therapy for those who don't need it can be extremely detrimental. The idea of "making the able more able" this way is not only untrue, it is terribly destructive. Churning up fabricated past lives to experience pain and get a person introverted is a horrible thing.
But that stuff aside -
I enjoy exscns, Indies - nearly all the people who ever joined scn because of certain traits we all shared that made it attractive - things like idealism, imagination and creativity and a strong desire to improve conditions and help others.
Someone wrote a 2013 prediction that the cult would go down and ESMB would become a reunion place sharing recipes (or something like that). I like that idea very much, but I'd like to share creativity, imagination, art, music and many other things with this very special group.
CB, I wish for you that you would credit yourself personally for your many good traits, compassion and imagination and one day realise what a wonderful person you are, and always would have been, and how much more you could (even now) be if not for scn. Scn sucked the very life force out of many of us and for some, continues to do so.
You are a good person and should take credit for that. L Ron didn't do that for you. YOU did that for you.

Last week I saw a vid about a man in his late 70s who finished grammar school for the first time - in Africa.
There were many things L Ron said that I agree with, some emphatically. And many with which I disagree, equally emphatically.
But one of the things he said that I will always hold close to my heart is this:

That's not just true for negative things, it's true for positive things as well.
L Ron Hubbard is not responsible for you being a good person or your achievements or motivations in life. You would have had ups and downs just living, anyway, like we all do. You would have been who you are and achieved as much or more, anyway. That's all I'm saying. I wish all Indies and FZers would see that. (Some do)

well yes, i do appreciate ron's work even if he had utter unalloyed venal motive. if so he did what he did with it. i do what i do with it. and the same for CoS and it long, deep and widely accounted on this board there have always been many very wonderful people in CoS along with several... ummm... very interesting people
