The ex-girlfriend of Jim Carrey who committed suicide just days after splitting with the Hollywood star was a Scientologist who was taking an intensive 'survival' Scientology course (center in a sauna doing the Scientology detoxification program purif) DailyMail.com can reveal. Make-up artist Cathriona White (left with Carrey) took classes at Scientology's Hollywood Celebrity Center (inset) and was working on her 'objectives' in the 'Survival Rundown.' The revelation comes from respected journalist Tony Oretega who has been writing about Scientology for 20 years. White and Carey had split up shortly before her death, and was spotted at a party soon after smiling as he chatted with women (right).

Another tragic, Scientology-related death. :bigcry:

Obviously Cathriona had some sort of difficulty dealing with the relationship. In real life, outside the Scn bubble, well-meaning friends would have sent her to a therapist. Depression would have been treated.

But no, she was put on the Purification Rundown and Survival Rundown and under the delusion all her issues were resolved. Any psychiatric drugs or psychological treatment would have been shunned. She might have even been on meds for depression before Scn and been told to go off them.

Poor girl. Poor Jim Carey. What a terrible thing to live with - the suicide of one you love.

Yes!!!!

This is so tragic. Even within the confines of the COS, the individual was mis-handled. Hubs had the notion that all beings are essentially the same and OUR OWN NEEDS are to be ignored. I suspect that Cathriona knew she was in trouble and sought the help of the COS and did what they asked and BY IGNORING HER NEEDS the COS allowed her to kill herself.

Are you trying to say that depression should not be treated by a Purification Rundown which sweats out their impurities, including the "depression toxin particle" that is causing their depression?

I am quite certain that Ron scientifically researched all this.

After this r-factor, if you are still confused or experiencing any of the barriers to study, you should re-study "Clear Body-Clear Mind" with a word clearer and e-meter present.

By the way, for a limited time, if you order a dozen copies of "Clear Body-Clear Mind" we are giving away a free LRH bookmark that contains an free LRH quote and free photo of Ron wearing a navy costume. It's a never-before-seen photograph of the Commodore and no matter where you move around in the room, you can just feel Ron's eyes following you!

There are now more than 1,400 comments below this article. Here are three that stood out:

Aaron Smith-Levin

To those still inside the bubble of the Church of Scientology, the only thing they will take away from this event is that Jim Carrey truly is a suppressive person, as evidenced by his public ridicule of Dianetics and Scientology in the past. This incident will reinforce the idea that suppressive people are truly 1.1 and that Jim was only pretending to be supportive of Cathriona's involvement in Scientology, but was actually covertly suppressing her and she went PTS to him.

Believe me, this is exactly what people will believe and what they will be told to believe.

Chris Shelton

If they are told anything at all, this is exactly the line they will receive. Scientology can never be wrong and nothing that anyone in the organization does or its procedures can ever be blamed for any of its myriad ill effects. Scientology's modus operandi is Blame the Victim. They can be counted on to do this 100% of the time.

Jim Carrey is -- in the eyes of those still in the bubble -- one of the WORST kinds of SPs, because he has literally been "in the hands of the psychs". It's well known that Jim has suffered from depression and been on anti-depressants. Scientologists will even be told that Jim Carrey was PDH'd by the psychs to "do what he's doing".

PDH = Pain Drug Hypnosis. This is LRH's description of how people are given commands while under a trance brought about by drugs or hypnosis (pain may or may not be applied as well), and then these people carry out these commands later unknowingly.

Scientologists are absolutely lead to believe that the psychs routinely do this to patients undergoing psychoanalysis, and that these people are then sent into Orgs to cause trouble.

No bullshit.

Scientologists: Don’t blame us for Cathriona White’s death | Page Six

...a Scientology rep told us: “Saying that somebody was studying Scientology in the past and connecting that to a suicide is like saying a person who had previously studied the Bible committed suicide. It is sad and reprehensible that a paid anti-Scientologist like Tony Ortega is exploiting this terrible tragedy involving a young woman: It’s a sign of outright bigotry.”

Even in tragic circumstances scientology always manages to imply the same message; scientology is being attacked!

While there are a plethora of stories that basically republish the information first published by Tony Ortega, The Wrong Guy on WWP has now found a second article that sets forth the position of the Church of Scientology.

Was Jim Carrey's Girlfriend Studying Scientology? The Church Speaks Out After Cathriona White's Apparent Suicide | E! Online

E! News got in contact with a spokesperson from the church, who responded to Ortega's article with the following exclusive statement: "Saying that somebody was studying Scientology in the past and connecting that to a suicide is like saying a person who had previously studied the Bible committed suicide. It is sad and reprehensible that a paid anti-Scientologist like Tony Ortega is exploiting this terrible tragedy involving a young woman: it's a sign of outright bigotry."

This is potentially a major flap for Scn.

It's one thing to tell somebody to take vitamins or nutritional supplements. Sticking an IV into a person is a medical procedure which requires the direction and close supervision of a licensed physician.

There WILL be questions by police investigators as to WHO prescribed this treatment, and whether the person had a valid medical license, which I'm not sure OSA will be able to suppress.

I don't remember ever hearing anything about it while in (admittedly as a dilettante dipping my toe a bit). However I know that it's part of the woowoo that the "natural" types use. Like the chiropractors who hire nurse practitioners to prescribe this sort of thing. I know a lot of culties got this sort of treatment from those sorts of quacks. But not Purif.

Yes, Tom Cruise proudly consults Scientologists and advises the entire planet about the wonders of treating depression with "vitamins and exercise", just as he lectured Brooke Shields.

Article from JOURNAL OF CLINICAL INVESTIGATION:

--snipped section--
Rather, we want to shine a light on the reckless comments actor Tom Cruise has recently made that psychiatry is a “quack” field and his belief that postpartum depression cannot be treated pharmacologically. We can only hope that his influence as a celebrity does not hold back those in need of psychiatric treatment.

Several interviews have aired in which Tom Cruise has publicized his disdain for psychiatry and the mental health profession (1, 2). In one interview, Cruise claimed to know the literature on the history of psychiatry, chemical imbalances, and Ritalin (methylphenidate), the attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drug (1). In another, he called actress Brooke Shields irresponsible for publishing a book on her battle with and treatment of postpartum depression, since he believes vitamins and exercise are all that is needed for treatment (2).

Scientology: Just ask any mental health care professional like Tom Cruise. He'll scientifically confirm that Scientologists (like himself) are "the authorities on mental health". However, if you are fortunate enough to be in Tom's "area" or "on his lines" please make very sure you never mention the entheta event that happened--when you used a dictionary and did a clay demo of the word "charlatan".

Somebody made an observation to the same effect on the WWP thread. Scientologists are, however, big on vitamins as a cure for everything. I suspect this was set up with a Scientology doctor. I wonder if it is a new CC service.
