Call me an old cynic.....but all that crap about how much they love each other......
It's easy to love someone with that much loot...I would marry JT and love him if he'd give me half a chance, and I would give him massages. But OSA won't accept my CSWs. I wonder if Kelly has been "seeing" anyone. A woman has certain needs........

There's always been gossip out there about Kelly, although she, as Lainey says, keeps it way tighter than John.

Including girl-on-girl stuff. Something about her and Jody Foster....

You know how much I've slammed Travolta. But, honestly, I do believe they genuinely love each other.

I know this statement will be really controversial but I think that one of the reasons their relationship has lasted so long is that, unlike so many others, it is grounded in reality.

She knows who he is and what he does. And has from the beginning.

And, I would have to assume, vice versa.

She never had any illusions that he would be sexually faithful to her. Oh, if only a million other women entered relationships with that reality....

The National Enquirer does not have a reputation for telling the truth. In fact. a former editor claimed on CNN that celebrities are high profile, thus fair game for being lied about in stories.

Has anyone considered that Travolta may have attended a Halloween costume party dressed up as a woman? Of course, if that was the case, the Enquirer would omit that fact because the cross-dressing allegation is a juicier story.

"The accompanying article claims that the photos were taken at a party John attended in 1997, and adds that Travolta's wife has left him in the wake of the cross-dressing scandal."

The Enquirer story has a homophobic bent to it, alluding that gay men are into dressing up like women. Come to think of it, I've dressed up as a woman for a few costume parties in the past.

Question: How come the COS can sue some people into total ruination but when the NE print this kind of stuff they keep right on going........I'm sure they don't do all the legal checking that some of the book writers and film producers have to do.????????

Yes, that puzzles me too.

My feeling is that they have a genuine marriage too. Love can take many forms, and they're all OK with me.

Now don't go bringing us into this DB. It's not fair. To Kelly, or to us. Or to John for that matter.

Apoc

ps. the whole black leather 'trapeze' thing (when John was out of town) has been blown out of proportion too. Kelly has her feet firmly planted on the ground (generally speaking).

Yes, you're right, I shouldn't gossip...but I am not saying Kelly has been seeing anyone.....I am just saying that her and JT are good friends and they really actually love each other and it seems to be true about them having a marriage of convenience, and JT gets to express his sexual identity and who he really is as a person :...and, you know, people have needs....and these days, women are empowered and have equality and they have a 2nd dynamic too. You couldn't expect a women's 2nd dynamic to be down the tone scale in "sacrifice"...could you? People will start to wonder...you know what they're like......I'm jus say'n......

Actually, they are all ok with me too. All my going-on about it is for lulz, which public figures put up with as a public duty to me, personally , but more importantly, it's all direct or indirect poking at the web of cult lies and the hypocrisy and manipulation of attitudes when the real lives of the famous are scripted to dupe the masses.

Same here - it's a bit of fun but the cult gets a poke in the eye.

Because it's media. The Enquirer has paid out millions of dollars in damages in settlements after they were sued, which is nothing compared to the fact that it earned $273 million in sales last year.

There's an excellent article at the Huffington Post, not sure if it's been posted.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/juliet-jeske/travolta-gay-or-not-gay-w_b_1527848.html

A snippet:

Travolta's religion, Scientology, has had a somewhat uneven history on the subject of homosexuality. The church officially states that it is one of tolerance toward gay people, but the original teachings of L. Ron Hubbard read as very homophobic. But it is not as if John Travolta is condemning the lives of gay people or working to suppress gay rights, like the hypocritical Ted Haggard, who was condemning gay people from the pulpit, only to later acknowledge having had gay affairs.

However, if Travolta is gay and feels the need to hide is sexual orientation in order to have a successful acting career, then that is a tragedy, for his family and for him. The "closet" is a suffocating place to be; it forces a person to constantly lie and live in fear.

Please remember that the suits were about his abuse of power i a sexual situation - not about gay sex. I take pleasure in a major scio celeb having pr issues.

A snippet:

A lot of the media seem oblivious to the fact that the in-the-closet aspect of JTs life is likely to be entirely about protecting the cult, especially if it's true that early in his career he did very little to hide. If it wasn't for the cult he would almost certainly have been "out" decades ago. Seems he was, off screen.

He's settling....

I knew he would...

John Travolta in settlement talks with one sex assault accuser, report says

Published May 30, 2012
FoxNews.com

Just weeks after John Travolta was sued by two John Does for groping them during massage sessions, at least one of those accusers may be trying to settle out of court.

"John Travolta's lawyer is currently in settlement talks with one of the accusers. The goal is to have a settlement reached very quietly and quickly because John just wants this scandal to go away," RadarOnline.com quotes a source as saying. "No money has been paid yet, but it's almost a done deal."

Two men previously represented by the lawyer Okorie Okorocha in suits against Travolta dropped those suits and hired celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.

Allred had said she would look at the merits of their cases before deciding whether or not to refile the lawsuits.

Travolta’s attorney Martin Singer has denied Travolta made any advances to anyone, and has said that not a penny had been paid by Travolta to anyone making any accusations of improper behavior.

A total of seven men have come forward accusing Travolta, who is married to actress Kelly Preston, of unwanted sexual advances, RadarOnline.com reports.

Their source says the John Doe in settlement talks would be sued for twice the amount of the settlement should he ever go public with his story.

Pity he doesn't have the courage to just be himself.

I agree. I find it very sad that even in this supposedly ‘more enlightened’ age, some people feel that they have to pretend to be someone else.

But, if more people where to stand up and say “This is who I am. Deal with it!” Then perhaps it wouldn’t be such an issue. Personally I don’t see why anyone should care about someone’s sexuality. Most of the best British actors of recent years have been gay, but that doesn’t appear to have dented their careers. Plenty of knighthoods dished out as well.

I can only imagine what the strain of living a life with two big lies must be doing to JT's mental and emotional wellbeing.

Well said.

You and I must have different lists of the Best British Actors then. Gays are well represented on my list but certainly don't constitute a majority.

Pedant. :p

OK, I might have been overstating a little, but by anyone’s standards, Dirk Bogarde, Simon Callow, John Gielgud, Derek Jacobi, Nigel Hawthorne, Ian McKellen and Obi Wan (the original) himself, are a pretty impressive roster.
