Junk mail: solved?

Hello There,

While I was a $cientologist, I received a lot of junk mail as any other cult member. When I left, I continue to receive a lot of junk mail as any other ex cult member. It was not so annoying, that way I was still "informed" about the scieno scene. After several years (about 17!) I moved and the junk mail stopped.
Approximately after five years at my new address, the junk mail started again. One promo per week... Then two promos per week... Then a magazine, etc. At that time I decided to stop this unwanted mail and I started to send it back with the mention "refused, back to the sender". No effect...
Then I wrote "refused, back to the sender. Life is better outside scientology". No effect...
Then I wrote "refused, back to the sender. Life is better outside scientology. Check forum.exscn.net".
IT WORKED!!:dancer::happydance:
So I don't know if it's the power of internet or the power of my postulate... But if someone annoyed by junk mail want to try, let us know if it works also for somebody else.

Have a nice week-end!

If you figure it costs them about .50 per piece, times 3 per week, thats about $75.00 per year that they can't use somewhere else. Might consider leaving it alone.

Since they like to send mail to former members who left 20 or 30 years ago what if we reverse the flow and everyone of us who was a member or just bought a DMSMH book start writing THEM letters, even if we left 50 years ago.

We can find the names of many of the staff members online and write them.

Dear __________, (fill in name of random staff member),

I came in to your church 25 years ago and purchased a Dianetics book. Do you remember?

I understand that that was a long time ago but for a Clear with perfect recall that shouldn't be an issue.

I just was wondering how it was going and was curious if you've had a chance to check out www.tonyortega.org which is possibly the best site for receiving breaking news about your organization. Larry Anderson, the star of that Orientation film you showed me is a regular there. I'm sure you'll find the site eye opening.

LOL! This is a really good idea!
But we should not use our real name. And we could coordinate the sending.

You big SP, you!!! Haha!! To finally get off the list after many polite attempts, I decided to not be so nice. I threatened to have my attorney contact them if they didn't take me off. Worked like a charm. However, I like your approach better!

You could go the other way. Have them send you MORE junk mail.

Save it up until you have enough to build a house. Ever heard of papercrete? http://www.greenhomebuilding.com/papercrete.htm

Say you have a lot out somewhere that you want to build a cabin on. You could have the Kult send the junkmail there and basically have your building material delivered shipping & postage free to you.

When I began typing the post it was kind of as a joke, but by the time I hit "submit" It seemed like something that had some potential.

One major issue that could severely limit the impact is that letters are screened prior to getting distributed.

Back in the mid-80's when I worked for HCO at Boston Org, I often was the one who received all the incoming mail. It was my job to open everything and rout it to the right place.

No matter who the letter was addressed to, if there was a check enclosed it always went directly to Treasury.

If there was a legal threat it would go to OSA Legal Dept directly.

With the type of letter I wrote above it would end up getting sent to either Ethics or OSA, I would think the latter.

But still it could have an impact on the original person who opened and read it and than on the individual in OSA who it gets sent to.

And if we're creative with the letters, than some could even slip through and get to the intended recipient. (if it seems as though it is a genuine letter from a public with no
obvious entheta).

With A FIRST CLASS RETURN POSTAGE PAID enclosed with the junk mail I always send it back.

Adding an old spark plug makes it over half an inch thick & adds weight.

The Post Office REQUIRES postage due be paid before ANY mail is taken from the box.

The cult can NOT escape paying for postage due.

I like taping a brick to a first class return postage paid envelope & taking it my local PO. They laugh & accept it !

A very very few others have told me " I'm taking food out of the mouths of SO members when I do this ". Well, GOOD !

Maybe starving helps them blow.

That is a GOOD DEED !
