Here's the three slogans from The Party.

WAR IS PEACE

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Let's see how well they work.

How about WAR IS PEACE?

To begin with, despite the immense stat push pressure that exists on and around an org and it's field it really is quite peaceful. There's the occasional blow up but it's quickly squelched...as is any disparaging remark by being "enemy line". Scientology is so overly suspicious of everyone, looking incessantly for critics that it factually creates its own enemies from thin air...thus reinforcing its suspicious viewpoint. It's sort of a dwindling spiral right there in front of your eyes where Scientology goes around with a cocked pistol and trigger happy to pounce and denounce at the slightest provocation even the innocently phrased question and since it slaps first and the love you get is the love you give Scientology is convinced that it is surrounded by enemies out to get it.

However this suits the endeavor just fine because it gets the focus "out there" for people to have something to fight. Being at perpetual war serves to keep everyone off each others throats and may actually tend to unite people more strongly. Scientology is surrounded by enemies and under constant attack from the past and present to stamp out its future and you can see this in it's loaded language of battle plans, birthday game for blood, delivering an effective blow to the enemy, the War Chest, etc.

The enemies list is endless...medicos, chaos merchants, APA, AMA, psychs, governments, the middle class, bankers, the Reactive Mind, valences, circuits, overts, m/us, squirrels, SPs, PTSes, spies, plants, PDHes, A to Js...it's endless. This keeps people perpetually focused on others and corralled, sort of like the wagon train circle surrounded by the marauding and hooting indians. And, surprisingly, the Scientology environment for the most part is surprisingly peaceful - everyone is too busy slaving to death to raise their stats by two to leave much time for grudge matches. They're also coached into being "yes men" cows and being up tone and theta.

I know there's all sorts of violence from MESTquirrelage and his immediate entourage but, of course, they're the Inner Party and, as such, enjoy and have a plentiful abundance while the majority suffer in scarcity. After all, it's only by a shoulder to shoulder effort that anything can be achieved and then there's the Two Minute Hates in the form of the IAS events where the evil psychs are pulled out and paraded around for all to hate and despise.

Then there's FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. This one is all too obvious with the Thursday at Two Stat Deadlines and Clearing the Planet and Can't Be/Must Not Be A Squirrel and Entheta and Out-Ethics, etc. For some reason I have never quite fathomed as of yet these uber utopias all seem to require secret police, concentration camps, gulags, forced labor, sleep deprivation, food rationing, scarcity and children in chain lockers. Aaah, such beautiful stuff is FREEDOM!

Also, people are absolutely scared to death to take responsibility and, gawed forbid, actually make a decision. This is all handled with Ron and his ego-tech. For every conceivable question there's a Ron answer written in some tome or spoken in some endless lecture...you just got to dig deep enough in all that significance to find it. At any rate you certainly don't have to make a decision for yourself - there's routing forms for that!

Finally we have IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. This one is great and very obvious as well. Have you ever been handled by a Scientologist with certainty as only a Scientologist can have? You, as a critic of Mankind's Greatest Friend, being handled by someone who is a guardian of the only hope for salvaging man from mud? This strength and certainty comes about by the KSW Scientologist's ignorance of who and what L. Ron really was, really wanted, how he really lived and what he actually produced. The same goes for the current administration of Scientology - the average loyal KSW IAS card carrying Scientologist is ignorant, by design, of what the administration does and stands for. These very same people who are so staunch in their support of Scientology as that bastion of all that is good and sacred and virtuous in Man will be tomorrow's greatest critics and staunchest opponents bent on tearing Scientology down when this ignorance is replaced with truth.

Orwell was a genius and 1984 is one of the most prophetic crystal balls ever written.
