Leah Remini - Dancing With The Stars TV Show 2013

Thanks, Mimsey. :)

I thought she did a very nice job, too.

Do the contestants/participants choose the dance music themselves or is that a producer's choice?
JB,

It varies around. Mostly they are given a song and a dance step to do with the song, mamba, samba, cha cha, quick step, passo doble, salsa, waltz for example. Then some nights they (the stars) pick what their opponents will dance. The idea is that each night has a variety of dance steps for them to do. Of course, there is a lot of showboating, waving T & A around in skimpy costumes, and hamming it up as they try to sell their routines to the judges and the tv viewers. Later in the season they can pick a song or dance step they want to do - some bring a lot of athleticism to the mix - like this:

Oh! That's a tricky bit -- letting the opponents choose a song.

Thanks, Mimsey. You've helped to educate a pop-culture dolt.

Oh damn! Alley did very well then.

But neither from performance nor from her personality she could compete with her:

Re: Leah Remini - Dancing With The Stars - Starts In 30 Minutes East Coast US

Gentle reminder to those on the East Coast here in the US...show is broadcast on ABC in about 30 minutes, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Friends/family have a wager going on about which song will accompany Leah and Tony's dancing tonight.

Here are the songs/music chosen:

"I'm Coming Out (I Want The World To Know)" - Diana Ross -- most popular guess.
"Roar" - Katy Perry
"We Are Fam-i-ly" - Sister Sledge
"Anything by Pink or Bruce Springsteen" <----Neighbor who crashed our DWTS wager, but he brought great food/wine so we let him get away w/this.
"I Won't Back Down" - Tom Petty
"The Climb" - Miley Cyrus

The wager?
If your song/music is NOT what Leah/Tony dance to tonight...erm...streaking is involved.

It's a little chilly outside, btw.

Mike: Dance With Leah

Tonight is the first show of the new season of Dancing With The Stars.

Of course, the biggest news of the new season is the inclusion of Leah Remini after her headline making break with the church over disconnection, the disappearance of Shelly Miscavige, and the lies that were told to her.

The most recent headlines have centered around her comment on the Ellen show that she “lost a lot of friends” as a result of her brave public departure.

It’s time to show her how many friends she has made.

You can vote after the show airs tonight. It broadcasts on ABC (in the US) at 8pm.

Watch the show — Monday Night Football doesn’t promise to be a great game anyway.

Then vote for Leah!

Re: Leah Remini - Dancing With The Stars - "Tears Dry On Their Own"

An interesting song choice for Ms. Remini's first dance on DWTS. The lyrics resonate with anyone who has broken-up with a lover, of course, but I think they might strike a chord (or two) with people here.

Amy Winehouse - "Tears Dry On Their Own"

VOTING — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Got questions? We've got answers!

1. How does the show work this season?
Things are a little different for Fall 2013. During the live show every Monday night, the stars will dance their hearts out. Then, fans like you vote for your favorite dancers.

The following week, the stars will perform again, and the judges will give each couple a score based on several factors, including technical execution. Those scores will be added to your votes from the previous week, and the couple with the lowest combined score from judges and viewer votes will be eliminated from the competition toward the end of that week’s episode.

So for example, your votes after Week 2 will be combined with the judges’ scores from Week 3 to determine who goes home at the end of Week 3. That means these dancers will have to bring it every week. If they had a bad week followed by a good week, the judges might be their saving grace. But a terrible performance might be enough to cancel out a solid performance the week prior -- you’ll have to watch to find out.

The scoring and format of the show is unique to the series and is not based on a standard dance championship. The competition is governed by the Official Rules made available to each couple; the summary here is for informational purposes only.

2. So how do I vote?
We have three convenient ways for you to keep your favorite stars dancing. You can vote by phone or do it online, either at ABC.com or on Facebook at http://apps.facebook.com/votedwts. And you have to be 13 years old…sorry, tweens!

3. When exactly can I vote?
Phone voting begins during the show on Mondays, and is open until 60 minutes after the conclusion of that show in your local time zone.

Online voting at both ABC.com and Facebook opens each Monday when the show begins on the East Coast at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) and stays open until 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) the next day. During the season’s final week on Monday, November 25, online voting will open when the show begins on the East Coast at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) and will stay open until 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT) on Tuesday, November 26.

4. What are the phone numbers for voting by phone?
As soon as the season begins, we'll post the numbers for each team right here, as well as on their individual team pages.

5. What if I want to vote online? Anything in particular I need to do first?
To vote at ABC.com, a username and a valid email address are a must. We've hopefully made the process pretty easy for you. In fact, if you already have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can sign in with one of those accounts, connect it to an ABC account and you're ready to go. If you don't have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can simply sign up for an ABC account at ABC.com.

The Internet browser on user computers must allow cookies, have Javascript enabled and have the latest version of Flash installed in order to vote. If cookies and Javascript are disabled and Flash is not installed, users will be unable to access the online ballot.

To vote via Facebook, go here: http://apps.facebook.com/votedwts. You will need to have pop-up blockers turned off for Facebook and authorize the Dancing with the Stars voting app.

6. Multiple members of my household would like to vote. Can they?
Sure -- the more the merrier! Just make sure to log out after you finish voting, then have your other household members log in with their Facebook, Twitter or ABC.com accounts. It's perfectly fine to vote on the same computer.

7. I have an existing ABC account, why do I need to validate my email address?
The short answer is that we've changed our registration system for the better. When you log into your ABC account, you will be sent a confirmation email. Just click on the link inside. Once your account is validated, you're all set to vote for the season. We recommend you validate your account now so you're ready to roll come Dancing premiere night. You can sign in at the top of the page to validate your account.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the validation email to be delivered, so give it a few minutes. Also, be sure to check your "spam" folder to make sure the email didn't land there.

8. Help! I forgot my username and/or password.
Fear not! We can help. If you need to get your member name, click here. If you forgot your password, click here.

9. How do I change the email address associated with my account?
Just follow the directions on this page.

This week, Leah Remini spoke about Co$/scientology and the current strain endured by her/her family members during the pre-dance taped interview portion of her segment. Here's the video:

LEAH REMINI: Scientology Wants Me to Fail on Dancing With The Stars

Tony Ortega - LEAH REMINI: Scientology Wants Me to Fail on Dancing With The Stars
http://tonyortega.org/2013/09/23/leah-remini-scientology-wants-me-to-fail-on-dancing-with-the-stars/

Excerpt:
Leah Remini continues to use her access to a huge media platform to jab the Church of Scientology in the ribs.

Previously, she had prominently displayed ex-Scientologist Marc Headley’s book about escaping Scientology, Blown For Good, while on her way into rehearsals for ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.

And tonight, on the show itself, she was heard to tell her dancing partner Tony Dovolani that she has to do well because her former church wants her to fail.

They want their parishioners to think that’s what happens if you leave, she told him.
