I am Opter's husband, not Opter.
I would not be surprised at all if these vidclips turned out to be OSA plants, as they project such a falsely positive image of the inside workings of an Advanced Org that a genuine critic of this mindfuck cult would be unlikely to post them.
Thus I feel that we ought to be very careful about how we comment on these vidclips.
Speaking very generally, however, I would like to contribute the following comments, hopefully as correctives to whatever positive impression might be created by these vidclips, which until proven otherwise, I can only regard as deliberate OSA plants.
I was on OT VII for a number of years until the "advent" of GAT, when I bailed out in disgust, because instead of getting a profuse apology for having been made to waste an enormous amount of time and money on the level for nothing, I was confronted at the GAT release event by a "pay up or else" aggressive shakedown for another fifty grand, as downpayment on what would no doubt have ballooned into another few hundred grands down the gurgler, had I not decided there and then to pull the plug and put an immediate end to my scientology "career."
Looking back, one gets a very clear-sighted view of what the OT levels are really about.
The purpose of each OT level is for the pre-OT to mindfuck himself, whether with auditor assistance or by his own lonesome, into a state of high elation where he can be shaken down by the regges for the next several tens of thousands of dollars of "donations", whether for the next major level, for some some real estate acquisition, for becoming a patron, or whatever else happens to be on the SO menu at the time, including of course becoming an SO slave.
Up to OT V, the pre-OT has an auditor to assist in mindfucking himself, on OT VI the pre-OT learns to do the job on himself by himself, and on OTVII he mindfucks himself several times a day into a state of high elation, consequently generally fucks up in life, and goes back to Flag every six month for another series of shakedowns, in no small part to handle the fuck ups caused in his life by getting himself into high elation several times a day.
By the way, it is of course not at all difficult to attain states of high elation entirely without scientology, if that's what turns one on, and consequently to faithfully believe in one's own bullshit, without however having to fork out hundreds of thousands of dollars for the privilege.
Public attests and success stories are of course an integral and indispensable part of the scam.
There are four basic purposes to success stories and attests, audited, written, examined and gushed about in public to a gathering of other mindfuckees that happen to be present in the org at the time. One is legal, to protect the "church" against any possible comebacks by the mark on not having been delivered the vapourware "product" that he has paid for. The second is to lock the mark in psychologically, so any future backdown would make him look an idiot both to himself and his fellow mindfuckees. Three, to maintain the mark in a state of high elation at least until he can be shaken down (again) for as much as the traffic can bear. Four, to hold out the carrot before the noses of the mindfuckee community within the org in confirmation that the particular piece of vapourware being gushed about actually "works," make them salivate for it, and thereby further cement group solidarity, beliefs and morale.
I don't know about you, but I assess these vidclips in light of these fairly cold, but objective considerations.
