Marty isn't a loony. At least, no more than the average for people who continue to be a victim of Hubbard's lies. Marty is trying to set up a business empire, and of course it has to be based upon the thing he wasted his life on: Scientology. He can't really believe that he has OT powers, but he can cynically sell the dream to other victims.
Bit of a shame, really, because while this goes on, he delays his own recovery - but you have to want to get better.
For now, I have to say: liar.
Anything he does now is done on his own with no cultic pressure or indoctrination of any kind.
Marty's an ex.
L. Garcia, OTVIII, enjoyed Marty's sessions immensely recently...
I read his whole account on Marty's blog. It was nice. Good for him.
Thing I wonder about though, is it really necessary for two beings to
go all the way up and become a Class XII Auditor and an OT VIII in order
to make another person (each other) feel better. I thought true friends do
it all the time just by really listening to each other... No?
Back in 1969, the girl in the green was my true friend, had I been Oat Tea 8 and Class 12, I would have known enough not to get her involved with the Co$. I wasn't and I did. 37 years later, she is still in the Sea Org, and so is her kid. Her kid looks like a zombie at the gift counter of the Fort Harrison.
So that is the value of training and auditing, you know enough not to fuck over your friends with involvement in the Co$.
That's a hell of a generalization, Mick. There are a lot of non CofS Scn'ists who aren't pricks or liars. IIRC, one of them visited you and had a nice time.
Marty's an ex. And before you roll your eyes at my defending him, I'll tell you that I'm not doing any such thing. If he's a prick and a liar it's because that's what he is, that's what he's doing. But he's no longer a member of a group that forces him to do that. Anything he does now is done on his own with no cultic pressure or indoctrination of any kind.
