Marty Rathbun - the prick.

What's funny is that all the person did to "pull that in" from Jim Logan was to say that most of the information was taken from the Friends of LRH website and not acknowledged as the source. They said it was plagiarized.

Since then, Garcia the writer, ACKNOWLEDGED that it had been taken from that website.

So Jim and Marty were wrong, and the "critic" was right.

This is the problem with believing in things that are not real, and enforcing those unreal beliefs on others.

This is the problem with Scientology.

And the "critic" (Devon) was not really a critic, since he/she admired the letter and was only complaining about the lack of attribution.

If pushed for an explanation of the response, I'm sure Jim Logan and Marty would claim that Devon was making a 1.1 attack on Luis. (Side question: why are the only tone levels commonly called out by number 40, 2.0, and 1.1?)

Or maybe it was just a spelling flame because Devon wrote "plagerizing."

I think Marty's blog "Moving on up a Little Higher" isn't about the Tone Scale or loftier ambitions but is instead about that frosty air of superiority called altitude.

The seagull on the blog masthead is Marty soaring through the sky looking for people critical of Hubbard. Oh there's one! *splat*

Actually, I don't think it's a seagull.

It's an albatross*.

*An albatross is a central emblem in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge; a captive albatross is also a metaphor for the poète maudit in a poem of Charles Baudelaire. It is from the Coleridge poem that the usage of albatross as a metaphor is derived; someone with a burden or obstacle is said to have 'an albatross around their neck', the punishment given in the poem to the mariner who killed the albatross. In part due to the poem, there is a widespread myth that sailors believe it disastrous to shoot or harm an albatross; in truth, however, sailors regularly killed and ate them.

I thought as an emblem for his mission he would have preferred a phoenix(rising from the ashes and everything that conjours up).

If you click on the image info. on the site however, it describes it as a goose:coolwink:

It sure does.
Why a goose?

To goose someone? :giggle:

The slang verb "goose" appeared in American use in the 1950's. To goose someone means to poke them in the buttocks. Usually it indicates a playful sneak attack from behind an unsuspecting victim.

I've been surprised recently at having some of my comments allowed on Marty's Blog. I wonder if this one will make it...

Mike,

You’re spot on again.

I just thought of an cute analogy between ESMB and Marty’s blog.

If Marty’s blog and ESMB were news shows, in terms of tone and responsible reporting, Marty’s blog would be like “60 minutes” or “Nightline” and ESMB would be like “The National Enquirer”. :)

Yeah, I noticed. It also attracted a fairly OSAish attack from atcause and a total non-sequitur from Jim Logan. Not much else though, although I'd hope some people might check the link.

It's got a playlist of 60 minutes on Scn and CAN and a Nightline episode.

Which thread is it on?

Marty seems to be having an interesting new openness for his blog.
Its as though he tested the waters initially by not allowing any criticism of LRH, IMO a wise move, but is now being more open. He allowed through my documents re Paulette Cooper, including references from Nancy Many's book,
and allowed this below through.

mike, you also need to realize, you were one of those people that inflicted pain on people for years as head of osa. 34 years is a long time of hurting people. you knew what you were doing was wrong, but you did it anyway. you loved your job as head of osa, the info, the voyeurism, the eval, the handling etc etc. and you were good at what you did. let’s not kid a kidder.

you went into the so to help but you stayed cause of the bottomline, you loved your job. it’s ok to love what you do. put it to positive use, for good instead of evil. now i guess the hard part for you to figure out is how to get an exchange for doing what you love to do, besides court.

here’s an idea, put your own corp there and set up shop to monitor miscavige, get the goods on him, etc etc. this will come in handy for all the court cases coming down the pike. it’s a win win for all
just do it ethically. ethics, tech & admin

Thank you Dr. Gold. Can I have a holier-than-thou eval too while you are at it?

Oh no problem Marty. Here you go - gratis.

You were a shifty little git when you got in, really had no great talent at anything. You have never been any sort of a "tech terminal" except in your own mind and while you may have tapped some people on the shins in session you have never run an organization to actually deliver Scientology to anyone. Your stunning success as an HGC auditor is the talk of the Org in Ulan Bator.

In your entire time you were in your only "talent" was in enforcing Miscavige's orders and in finding fault with others. You had no talent at all for doing a real post. You may have been able to hold down a job as a folder page at AOLA (on a really good day) but I doubt that you could have done it for any longer than a day or two.

You have never run call in for anything - never actually dealt with the public and their woes and troubles and all the crap that they found themselves in thanks to the psychotic execution by you and your ilk. You have never actually provided anything for a crew, never had to put the welfare of a group of friends before your own.

Like a lot of people who lived at Int you thought you got all the little privileges because of your "production" when, in fact, you got them because of the hard work of the FSO staff who actually had to try and work with all that Hubbardian crap to produce - and then got stuck on beans and rice because Int thought they needed to have some "income demand".

You lived off the hard work of others and, apparently thats how you intend to continue your life - finding yet more hosts that you can suck the nutrients out of like every other tapeworm.

Dunno how accurate you are here Mick. I met the man, and was impressed as was Ax 142.

You too spent years in the same endeavors as did your lovely wife. Its really a plus point all round.

Trying to make the world a better place, and we are all still trying.

Maybe one could say that was then, this is now.

Anyway I'll post here a success story of Marty as an auditor. Met the
Mum Sam, a real fireball.

I’m right there with you Mike.
I had to answer up to my daughter seeking reassurance that no-one would ever read what she had revealed in session… no easy task and a heartbreaking situation to be in. On top of that she was a mess from the squirrel C of M auditing and didn’t trust anyone to audit her out of it.
Thanks to Marty it’s all sorted out now. A few short days at the shack and she has never looked back – Marty I am eternally grateful.
