Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas is still a few days away and it seems to have come so suddenly this year. Here's a thread to share the love and send good thoughts out to all who read and post here. Many people are silently suffering disconnection and the results of being involved with scientology and this time of year can sometimes be extra hard. Some are just finding their voices and others here to hold out a hand.

Let's share our best wishes and be grateful for all the joys of the past year, despite the hardships. And here's to 2014 seeing the crumbling of the cult.

A wonderful video to make you smile:

The Year that Was.

I'll get a bit more personal and gooey. I am feeling the love today. :)

It's been one hell of a year with some remarkable breakthroughs, lows, challenges and events. Many I can't talk of, which is the shitty thing about being an ex scientologist sometimes, but it is the internet and events still continue.

The journey of my ailing parents has brought a lot of insight into many subjects as one's whole life comes up for review. Gratitude, guilt, kindness and betrayal all find their place in the story. Sharing a similar experience with my wonderful friend Sallydannce has offered amazing breakthroughs and understanding which I guess sometimes only comes from going through such events. My parents brought me into scientology as a teen, so very long ago, and how that affected my whole family is a study in the truth of it's mind control.

My youngest daughter had a glorious wedding and my disconnected one came to be part of the family for the first time in over 5 years. For five minutes anyway.

I have faced and still face daunting physical challenges and I need to thank a few absolutely stellar people who have supported me. They know who they are. My heart just about bursts when I think of it ... the incredible kindness that changes a life silently given with love. I try and live up to their faith in me, and I have learnt this last year that if I fail in that sometimes then it is still ok, that what we do here and now and in our lives at this moment is most important of all.

So Merry Xmas to the beautiful people I am honoured to know, and to the ones I have disagreed or got angry with, and everyone in between. We can all make a difference, starting with being kind to ourselves.

Re: If We Make It Through December

Yes Christmas has changed a lot from the pagan festival it once was. But we still have the Holy and the Ivy, trees and food and drink, enough to sink a ship. We still have the giving of presents and the celebration of family. Christians tried to take it over but it didn't really work, it's really about the longest night, and that's past now, days are starting to get longer again!
My Punjabi neighbours have put up their decorations and the halal turkeys are there now in my local butchers. Maybe the government will enjoy the raise in sales as people buy presents on their credit cards and the economy will pull out of treble dip recession.
