Is it possible to find spiritual help for this kind of thing? It's psychic harassment.

I can't deal with it. I'm currently in Edinburgh.

Hi fraser, welcome to esmb. I'm sorry to hear you are in a difficult spot. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the furies" could you expand on that?

Best,

Blanky

In Greek and Roman mythology, the Furies were female spirits of justice and vengeance. They were also called the Erinyes (angry ones). Known especially for pursuing people who had murdered family members, the Furies punished their victims by driving them mad. When not punishing wrongdoers on earth, they lived in the underworld and tortured the damned.

Can you please expand

I don't understand the relation with a monk and furies !

In the case you would be driven by inner voices to commit harmfull actions toward yourself or others,
please don't seek help with a monk, priest or $cientologist.

Try to get reffered to a good psychiatrist who will in a first time condust some test for mental chemical and later on evaluate your situation and propose a therapeutic plan.
Please rely on professional therapists who will help you!

I think he means Alan Walter's one:

Although his post was not brimming over with detail.

I think I'll hold off until they respond in clarifying their woes. :hattip:

More about the Furies:

According to some stories, the Furies were sisters born from the blood of Uranus, the primeval god of the sky, when he was wounded by his son Cronus. In other stories, they were the children of Nyx (night). In either case, their primeval origin set them apart from the other deities of the Greek and Roman pantheons.

Most tales mention three Furies: Allecto (endless), Tisiphone (punishment), and Megaera (jealous rage). Usually imagined as monstrous, foul-smelling hags, the sisters had bats' wings, coal-black skin, and hair entwined with serpents. They carried torches, whips, and cups of venom with which to torment wrongdoers. The Furies could also appear as storm clouds or swarms of insects.

One of them reminds me of my ex-wife, not saying which one though!

At the very beginning of Jerome K. Jerome's excellent book, Three Men in a Boat, he realizes that he is suffering from various terrible maladies. He visits his doctor who gives him a prescription that his pharmacist cannot fill. It is a list of items that might suit very well in this instance.

Here is a link to the full text of the novel at Project Gutenberg:

It's a bit like that Edwardo, thanks.

Mental rather than physical illnesses! A kind of schizophrenia that stops me from enjoying anything I'm doing at given time, except when it's destructive. Currently my awareness/ memory is extremely limited.

The monk isn't entirely antisocial, it's very confusing. He did drive a horse into my mother's car however.

I really don't see the point of why this has been done to me. My brain can be hacked up more than others' I guess? No reason I can think of(Too much sex?). Satanic enterprise? He came from a Theravada monastery.

Short of an immediate answer that will be of help to you, my advise is to meditate quietly in a private comfortable place, eyes closed, and not focus on anything if possible. The idea being that you allow your mind to become empty of thoughts for a bit, to help rejuvenate it for a bit... also, take walks and just look around and not think. let thoughts come and go without letting them stick your attention.

I wish you well,
Mary

I'm glad that this post was the source of some amusement and made a few people laugh, as that was why I wrote it. To my warped sense of humour it seemed like an open goal.

However, my concience has been bothering me so I'd like to apologise to my ex-wife, who is in reality a sweet and gentle person without a malicious bone in her body.

I'm still glad it made people laugh though. :)
