I know nothing (directly) of what Mosey/Jeffrey are doing. But it seems to me clearly like it's a strategic decision.

Why be distracted by suing twelve parties (and dealing with all their different sets of lawyers) when the parties that really matter are 1) the cult and 2) Davey.

Those grandpas and the grandma who were the Squirrel Busters are likely to be called as witnesses anyway. They'll make great "asshole exhibits."

The other day I mentioned to parties involved that John Allender, who does construction work [ http://www.linkedin.com/pub/john-allender/20/99b/4a2 ] is also a Mission holder - a tiny hole in the wall on Winchester Blvd. in San Jose, CA. It's one of those locations that are open a couple hours most evenings. No one goes there, so I figure he pays the bills with his construction work. If he got a big enough financial hit, that Mission might close. Just an uplifting thought.

In recent years, under Miscavige's leadership, it has come under increasing scrutiny amid disturbing claims by former followers of authoritarian rule, financial exploitation and harsh treatment of those seen as disloyal.

Last year, the church sued Debbie Cook, a long time top church official, in Bexar County, claiming she had violated a non-disclosure agreement when she left in 2007.

But the legal attack backfired when Cook took the stand in San Antonio and gave lurid accounts of mistreatment, including spending seven weeks in “The Hole,” at the church's international headquarters in Los Angeles.

At “The Hole,” she testified, people slept on the floor, were denied medical attention and were given watery “slop,” served from a big pot. She told how some detainees were forced to confess to things they hadn't done and were sometimes beaten.

One man, she claimed, was forced to lick a bathroom floor after objecting to violence against others.

And while a church official dismissed Cook's testimony “false claims and wild tales,” the suit was quickly dropped and a confidential settlement was reached.

Thing is the Church of Scientology itself does not have tax exempt status in the Netherlands period. Alsoo several months back Narconon lost its liscence here.

Brutal fight implies no settlement. Marty did say on his blog he would never accept money to be silenced. I do believe this could be a long fight and not for settlement but for jury decision. He knows secrets, and may tell them now as this case moves forward.

Maybe it's best that Marty gets deposed.
