What did the brick say before it was defaced? And where is it at?

The original was identical to the current one, but, it was by a bench in the courtyard of a pedestrian way in Clearwater and not particularly exposed. Over the course of weeks cigarettes were rubbed out on it until Lisa McPherson's name was rubbed out.

The replacement brick was places away from the bench in a place where it's more visible.

That's awful. What a shame and how mean.

Course there were cockroaches at FH, they're EVERYWHERE in Fla!! (imo, even those who use regular high-strength professional exterminators, which I somehow doubt flag used). That's one thing I do NOT miss from Fla!:nervous:

No, type 3's usually are never allowed in public, but heard that Lisa sorta went that way IN public, so...

But while my 2d and I were staying there (bout 20 yrs ago now), there was these two men that were like bodyguarding this third guy as he ate in the canteen (it wasn't one of the restaurants). And he was making THE most HORRIBLY LOUD vomiting noises, yet we didn't think he was actually vomiting, cuz you'd hear that and smell it, etc...and I hadn't the guts to look at the man....:melodramatic:.

It DID boggle the mind WHY they let him (a type III perhaps) eat in public like that when me and my 2d were green brand newbie scn's at the time there at Flag, lol. :confused2:

Story here:
whyaretheydead.net/ Fort Harrison Hotel - Room 174

But who really believes that Lisa was at the FH room 174? - Are there cochroaches at the FH? - Does CofS ever have type 3's anywhere near public?

The first floor was all offices or galley from what I remember.

The only rooms I remember on the first floor were the cabanas.

When I was at Flag....around 1990, I was talking with the receptionist about bugs and she said that there shouldn't be any bugs in the FH because Flag paid a lot of money to professional exterminators to make sure that there would be no bugs in the hotel.

The only thing that's clear is that the 'Church' lied. It's possible that Lisa was being held in one of the SO motels, but, nobody's talking

Let's not forget the *original* brick; defaced by Scientology Staffers:

Lest this last be seen as gratuitous, here's the record of Lisa McPherson's 'Baby Watch Logs' (minus the missing 3 days before her death) which include arguments and discussions on how to pay for her 'Cal-Mag' and bananas. Anything else would be 'out-exchange'.

http://www.whyaretheydead.net/lisa_mcpherson/logs/lisam.htm

And, of course, her Scientology roommate stole checks after her death, to empty her bank account and pay for the 'services rendered'.

Not gratuitous at all, Zinj.

Quite appropriate for this thread.

Maybe Marty might want to contribute some data...sometime...

Sorry, I was thinking that the "second" floor was the 1st floor. Not that the ground floor was the 1st floor.
I don't remember. :confused2:

Ok ok. I have to keep reminding myself I'm not posting on Why We Protest.

Communication is very fast flow there.

Yes I hit my head on the fountain.

Yes I have sex with animals.

>> Ohh, so I'm an animal, now? Happy Valentines Day to you. too, creep.

Remove the e-meter and you basically have talk therapy. And I do believe it can help. Whether it is talking or on the meter. But much of the lists and auditing procedures I don't believe in. At least the way they are done. It's like lists are done without the need of the actual PC sometimes. "Sit there and shut up while I read this list off and watch the reads".
How about I just tell you.

Yes, I wonder if the "help" was psychological orif the "problems" were psychosomatic.

Most of the posts I have seen here that support "some" of the tech and say it helped them AFAICT have not said how or what was "helped". Except Terril's, who said someone had broken bones.
Was he saying the "tech" healed the bones or helped the person psychologically?

It's known that stress can make any illness or injury worse. So a reduction in stress could be beneficial. You can also reduce stress with exercise, getting more sleep or talking to a supportive friend about your problems.

But if the stress or depression has a physical component, i.e. a chemical imbalance in the brain, a cancerous growth, diabetes, thyroid condition, arthritis, eye disease, etc. communication (unless it's with a qualified doctor) ain't gonna cut the mustard

How do Scientologists know what the cause of any "problem" is? Hasn't scientology, at one time or another, been touted as the cure-all for everything? Didn't Hubbard promote smoking as being a "cure" for cancer?

Geesh, since the economy went south, I've noticed Scientology offers to help with "financial problems". One thing that can be said for Scientology is that ANY
opportunity that knocks on any door anywhere on the planet will be invited into Scietntology.

If the "tech" is so wonderfully helpful, why hasn't someone done some double-blind studies to prove it?

Hey all you who say Scientology helped you.......DETAILS PLEASE.

well done and welcome to the outside world!

thanks for your message and for making clear what your intentions are.

i left the SO 12 years ago after working at flag crew, cmo eu and on the rpf at uk. i felt i had some damage to make up after i started realising what the real world outside of scientology and the sea org really is. and still feel a little like that. and i also felt that my desire to help others had been abused to further the purposes of an organisation that only intends to make money and does that quite ruthlessly. i feel that some individual sea org members simply took advantage of my abilities for their very own benefit. and i was still a child back then (i joined when i was 14).

personally, i'd like to know what happened from your point of view on the "Ethics handling", which led to an SP declare of Robert Dam from Copenhagen.

I believe You were involved in that handling. Look for Robert's side of the story on his homepage. (google Robert Dam)

so please let me know.

Yes, let us remember Lisa McPherson.

Let us also remember that the "church" was successful in getting tax exemption, destroying the Cult Awareness Network, making the Lisa criminal trial "go away"AND using a former critic (Bob Minton) to "make the Lisa Cilvil Case" go away.

"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

And wasn't Marty involved in at least some of that?

I've posted a bit on the subject, as well, on some forums- about positive results with Scn. Specific details.

To me, the thing is this: it's a YMMV thing, just like psychotherapy. I have no doubt in my mind that a really good psychotherapist hitting the sweet spot just right could also, in a mind over matter type type of scenario, also affect a person physically or have cure an emotional issue. And I also bet they couldn't replicate that every time. I think Scn is just like that. I think double blind studies with Scn would work about as well as double blind studies with meditation, psychotherapy, or pastoral counselling from a priest, minister or rabbi, and so on. I think ALL those things "work" but that it's sporadic.

I would suggest to those who like Scn auditing and so on and also to those who are critical of people getting auditing to just treat it and think of it as a spiritual issue and spiritual series of methods.
