It's good of you to share this with us, a single genuine person (minus an agenda) truly changed your life because you let him in ... it's a powerful thing to remember on dark days.
I know a lot of us had the 'us and them' mentality while we were still scientologists and it leaves you very alone when you finally make the big break ... especially if your family no longer feel like yours.
It's fantastic that you met this person just when you really needed to.
Thanks. I've only lately begun to understand the value of unconditional love / friendship for those in the cult. I always wanted to do more because unconditional love isn't really difficult for me to give. I never thought it was something of value that I could give. But maybe it's the best thing that I have.

It is extremely valuable to those you love. Knowing that someone out there cares about you can be a life changing factor by itself. It makes me feel safe and it has kept me from sinking too low into the self-destruction.
It becomes even more valuable when you are in the cult and all of your love, even from your own family is conditional upon Scientology. All of your friendships are conditional upon Scientology.
Scientology is so evil that it can drain the love out of someone's life. That is one hell of a skill.
