Narconon - Leaked Reg Documents

Imagine yourself having an addicted loved one you want to get help for and you scour the internet searching for help and come upon a series of websites with the name Narconon, promising a program 76% success rate that doesn't use medication, that promises more than any other program. Imagine you you pick one of the first websites listed in the google search results, and decide, based upon what you have read there, to call the toll free number and to get more information. This decision winds up being the worst mistake you have ever made and you don't even know it until it's too late. I call it the Narconon Nightmare.

The fact is that people are getting ripped off every day by Narconon and it's sales people. I get so many complaints after the fact. It's a sad situation which I and ethercat and other try to alert the public about. More current and former staff are coming forward, in name or anonymously, pitching in to help expose Narconon, and now there are document leaks happening. It's been a good year.

I recently received, anonymously, 6 registrar sales 'scripts' and 'curricula' used by Narconon Fresh Start staff (formerly Narconon Southern California) to sell Narconon to unsuspecting and vulnerable people who are seeking help for their addicted loved ones using Narconon 'hotlines' or requesting more information from their Contact Us page of their websites.

The lies, the intimidation, the treatment of these people in order to get a sale is so very 'Scientology'. You can get the document leaks here.

To give you an idea of what's in them, here are some first comments from RFTTP members who are seasoned former Narconon staff:

These are great!

From the 5 Rookie Mistakes one:

"The second mistake is taking what they want and think they need at face value. The mother says my daughter needs outpatient in Boise Idaho so she can keep her job at Wal Mart and take care of her 2 year old son. You take this data, compute with it at face value and give her outpatient treatment centers in Boise Idaho. If the addict’s mother had all the answers or for that matter any of the answers she would not be on the phone with you."

These guys are so cold and arrogant. It's a sale, a dollar amount, a statistic.

Oh, geez, it gets worse from there:

" Realize also because despite Mom and Dad’s efforts the drug addiction has perpetuated and because of that, Mom and Dad have copped the condition of the addict. What is the highest condition a parent of an 18 year old girl who is shooting heroin and selling her body for money? Do you think the Mom and Dad should be writing up Power Change or Affluence on the 2nd Dynamic? The answer is no! and it doesn’t matter if dad is a high powered attorney or Doctor or if Mom is the President of the PTA (Parent-Teacher Association),that’s great and good for them on their 3rd dynamic, you are actually speaking with them about their 2nd Dynamic and they are an Ethics Particle on their 2nd Dynamic, condition wise most likely Confusion or Treason. Would it make sense to listen to, compute or think with what’s coming out of somebody’s mouth that is in lower conditions? NO"

I remember the arrogance well. They're the only ones who are right - everyone else is wrong. Disgusting. Makes me sick to read this.

The facilities they use these 'scripts' and 'curricula' to reg for include:

Sunshine Summit Lodge and Narconon JLB Ranch in Warner Springs, CA
Huntington Harbor House in Huntington Beach, CA,
Narconon Colorado dba A Life Worth Saving in Fort Collins, CO
Narconon Southern California dba Rainbow Canyon Recovery and Narconon Nevada in Caliente, NV
Narconon Fresh Start (formerly Narconon Southern California) dba Texas Lone Star Victory Ranch, in Harlingen, TX

Makes me sick, too. Thank you to the anonymous staff member who sent these to me.

I don't think I have ever seen phone scripts quite as coldly evil as these; I cannot imagine a decent human being willingly using these to take money from people who are desperately trying to find help for their loved ones. But then, Scienos aren't human, are they? Can you say space aliens? Sure you can!

'til next time;

Many of these documents read like a hard sell telemarketer script for sure. Some of these documents really stress homing in on the emotional buttons needed to be pushed to close a "Sale".

I know I,m close to the subject matter and have well founded angst in regard to the likes of Narconon, but reading this just plain makes me angry. This is SCIENTOLOGY at its worst.

Key words and acronyms used in these documents ( will be updated as I get definitions)

10oriocookies provided me these:

DM is Dad/Mom

DRO refers to the person who is referring, not sure what internal title they give to hide the fact that they are deceiving people, but that seems to be from the script who it is referencing.

It is telling that they feel they have to explain PTA to their staff. It is additionally ironic that they are doing so while training them to criticize someone else's parenting.

Luke pointed out the DM is probably more correctly Decision Maker.

Also just wanted to clarify my comment about them being great. I meant its great that the public can know just how much pressure these sales guys are trained to put on a family while they are making what could be a life or death decision. Unfortunately, with the pressure that is put upon the Narconons to purchase services and materials from the "church", more and more corners are being cut and the tactics they use to make money are turning into fraud and larger, more coordinated efforts to deceive the public.

Correction:

Lucas Catton wrote on RFTTP forum "I think that DM my mean Decision Maker, as in, who is going to pay for it/make it happen. Fresh Start also refers to their Drug-Rehabs. Org referral calls as the DRO line. Not trying to contradict, just adding my thoughts there."

This sounds about right, we all agreed

"Galopogator" documents

FYI, the logo Galopogator is a made up name, used as a logo embedded in the document by the author to identify it as his document. Apparently Chris Bauge doesn't want it copied without credit, perhaps so others don't steal his work, lol

And an LOL for Arrowhead being the "largest residential program". They are not legally allowed to have a residence program, only outpatient.

That is Georgia, not Arrowhead, who is licensed for outpatient only. Arrowhead is licensed but under different rules because they got CARF certified. The rules may change soon and Arrowhead will have to meet all OKLA criteria, not just rely on CARF. :)

Am I making a mistake? I thought the graphic that I posted has written within it, what I posted and joked about. Sorry to not engage with the rest of your message. I don't understand it in context.

I am disappointed in Texas, though.... I thought they had practically run Scientology out of that state! What on earth is a Narconon doing there?

Lol!

????? Perhaps this will help explain what I meant.

You wrote this:

in reply to this:
Lol at Mary Rieser and "ethics and personal responsibility".... She can sure help you with that!

She wrote that because Mary Rieser is mentioned in the graphic you posted, in the section about Narconon of Georgia.

Your reply above says to me that Arrowhead is "not legally allowed to have a residence program, only outpatient." That isn't correct.

Mary Rieser is from Narconon of Georgia, which was only licensed as outpatient ( but lied about being licensed as residential and got caught lying when witnesses in the Desmond case attested to what she told them. ) Their license is revoked but they are operational pending Administrative appeal.

Perhaps you meant Georgia facility in your reply to Purple Rain, but the context of it seems to be about Narconon Arrowhead.

BTW, love the graphic! Thanks :)

These reg drills seem like they're based on Les Dane's Big League Sales - I've seen similar things in "Churches" of $cientology previously.

Maybe they could be correlated with the relevant chapters in that book? THAT would certainly show just how mercenary NarCONon is.

I don't have a copy of BLS otherwise I'd put my hand up for the work.

I'm sure they would be based on BLS since that is the book that is used to train reges to get the money. There might be some cloaking of terms for the NN reges.

Does anyone have a registrar Hat Pack for NN?
Is the term "Hat" used in NN, to refer to a workers job duties?
Is the term "Hat pack" used to refer to a NN workers training manual?

Yes, BLS is absolutely used at Narconon. Here is a Full Hat Checksheet posted for a Registrar at Narconon Arrowhead ca. 2002: http://forum.reachingforthetippingpoint.net/index.php/topic,12330.msg30196.html#msg30196
