People were always coming up with dodgy schemes to pay for their bridges.
Now she's trying to cash in on being LGBT... seems more like NPD (narcissistic personality disorder)

WMNF: Escaping Scientology on Life Elsewhere

* * * * * BEGIN INTRODUCTION * * * * *

For years, Michelle LeClair, former President of Scientology’s international humanitarian organization, tried to reconcile her sexual orientation with the anti-gay ideology of the church. Michelle finally ends her horrific marriage, finds the love of her life, a woman, and ultimately leaves the Church. But the split comes at a terrible price. Her once pristine reputation is publicly dragged through the mud, the police raid her home, her ex-husband tries to gain full custody of their children, and the multi-million dollar business she built from scratch is utterly destroyed. In her tell-all memoir, Michelle offers an insider’s perspective on Scientology’s pervasive influence, secret rituals, and ruthless practices for keeping members in line. Michelle LeClair answers Norman B’s questions about her memoir, Perfectly Clear: Escaping Scientology and Fighting for the Woman I Love.

WoW! What a lot of brouhaha!

I haven't read all the links or tried to stay up with this barrage of LGBT stuff...

Are any interviewers asking about her prior law suits? It looks like they have been dismissed:

https://www.courthousenews.com/filmmaker-cleared-21-million-ponzi-charges/

But what about Kristy Ally's involvement in the Insurance Policies...and the payoff? ( $400 thousand paid to Kristy Ally Family Trust...that I read about, as some sort of kick back for purchasing insurance...)

This lady is really a live wire and a big operator!

Elder abuse, nearly as low as child abuse.
It's interesting to me to see the hoops that one jumps thru when they 'confess' to an auditor, or an EO.
I have known a number of scn"ists who have reached the highest level of training and processing, who have held important posts in the Org, and who were Gay.
When I was 'in', if some aspect of being homosexual didn't come up , then the subject was not addressed.
Apparently, if it is known about, the gay person will be sec checked until they run out the door.

There's a word for people who realize, in their 40s, that they're gay and leave their families. It's called FLAKE

LeClair has dedicated proceeds from her book to a trust for her insurance clients. She said she hopes her story will help anyone who has struggled to be their authentic self, to walk out of an abusive relationship, to escape Scientology or to rebuild after failure. “I want people to know we have a choice,” she said.

As for Scientology, that is a chapter that is finally in her past. “I look at Scientology as something that enveloped my life for many years, that stole my ability to explore my sexuality, that forced me to live a life of sorrow and pain and I refuse to let it define me today,” LeClair said. “I have a new definition of success and that is how hard do I love? How many kisses do I give my partner and my children every day? What am I doing in the world to give back for the second chance that I have?”

WTF are you talking about?

Your posts contain so much CERTAINTY that it makes me believe you're still a Scientologist.
Looks like she scammed a lot of old people and is now using her LGBT status to sell a book to a calculated niche market. Gee, I wonder how many churches out there would encourage a married woman to explore her sexuality through adultery? What a scandal! There are much more interesting books out there by ACTUAL whistleblowers.

As to my certainty, let's just say I'm old enough to know the type. I suppose it takes all kinds to make the world go round, and maybe we need slippery, big-thinking promoter/scammer types like LRH, but it doesn't mean I have to approve of them just because they left the Cof$.

This is NOT OK !!!!

You're just making things up to be right.

For years, Michelle LeClair, 45, was a prominent member of the Church of Scientology. She claims to have donated an estimated $5 million to the Church and claims to have acted as a spokesperson when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had a baby. In her new memoir, Perfectly Clear, LeClair, a mother of four, says the Church targeted and humiliated her for being gay when she came out, ultimately leading to her defection. The Church denies her claims, telling ELLE.com they're "pure fiction."

Episode Description:

Heather interviews Michelle LeClair, author of Perfectly Clear: Escaping Scientology and fighting for the Woman I Love about what it was like to leave Scientology when you aren’t famous but gave a lot of money and were high in the church. Heather witnesses filming of The Bachelor in Maui and gives hilarious recaps of RHOC and RHOD.

The Scoop:

I picked up the people magazine with Michelle LeClaire on the cover and talked about her story on the show. I was so intrigued by her story that we reached out and I was so excited to do an interview with her. I wasn’t able to read the whole book before interviewing her but I did read parts of it and it was super juicy.

We did the interview over Skype she was really lovely, attractive and really open about everything that has happened to her. There wasn’t one question she wasn’t willing to answer.

I love learning more about Scientology and how people get sucked into it. More importantly how they let the people who are not as important and don’t give as much money go, they just let them walk out. It’s the big donors like her or the famous people that have a harder time leaving. I thought that was something that finally really made sense to me about how all the stuff is going on in Scientology.
