The Huffington Post weighs in.
EXCERPT: Hamilton, the founder of Child USA, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect, said that she isn’t aware of any abuse accountability structures within the Church of Scientology. She said several characteristics of the church stand out as red flags to her, signaling that this is an environment where abuse could occur without accountability.

What the hell???

Someone needs to be horse whipped for that. If someone had run that vulgar crap on my daughter, I would have had their ass mounted on my wall like a hunting trophy. I am not kidding.
I certainly remember vulgar crap during bullbaiiting, but not as a 10 year old. There was one guy who would throw all sorts of gay&fag remarks at people during bullbaiting, but I was something like 16 at the time. I have no way of knowing if he did that to younger kids, but I doubt it.

Oh and there were the persistent rumors that one of the girls there (in her early 20s at the time) would flunk people by flashing her tits. I dunno if it was real, I suspect it was an "urban myth". ;P

One problem with doing that is the "victim" can pretend it's unflat, and the bullbaiter has to repeat the action until it's flat.

True, but. . .

Rathbun, despite all his ostensibly well-intentioned whistleblowing vs. Miscavige, Hubbard and the cult---RATHBUN ALWAYS CONTINUED TO ATTACK & DEGRADE ANYONE WHO DARED DISAGREED WITH HIM---even his dumb-ass "Indie" cult stragglers who worshipped him.

To wit, he never ceased being a cult abuser.

CONCLUSION: Wannabe cult leaders don't believe nor mean a thing they write/say. Ignore those, just turn the sound off and watch their actions. All they want is personal power, glory and money.
So you think Marty's goal is become the next "cult leader?"

Of course it was CP, he also ended the Irish potato famine and the American Civil War (that was in a previous lifetime of course).
Also he improved the safety road signs on Venus as well, especially near all railroad tracks after he personally experienced a close call.

He not only rode bucking broncos when he was only three years old, he also stepped on a crack and broke his mother's back -- but he cured her using pre-Dianetics.

As I said Stratsie it's FIRSTHAND knowledge.

As I have long since reported on this board...

After all Hell broke loose in the summer of 1980 down in Philly and I lost my sanity my home my wife and my children (none of which have yet been regained) I was driving cab up in Boston one crisp October night when an interesting fellow hailed me for around trip from and to Newbury and Hereford. He introduced himself as (ahem) "Courtney Spindler" and later as an employee of the Central Intelligence Agency. He said as a training exercise he'd been assigned to infiltrate the Denver Org. In the report he filed he said he was very well impressed by Scientology training but there were serious problems with the organization. He also said he reported a background in Scientology would be a good thing for an agent, Not only do I have that, as I'm sure he knew I had intelligence training in the Army. He then vested me, under the usual Mission Impossible condition of "plausible deniability" with a diplomatic portfolio.

Firsthand.

I was there.

My expression of any joking (& degrading) comments was heavily suppressed for 10 full years when in the cult. I got to get it out of my system somehow. ;)

Actually, in six days from now it will be my 10 year anniversary of registering on ESMB.

I've only got another 999,999,999,990 years remaining on the contract that Emma made me sign.

Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow
From Tony Ortega's blog post today:

Valerie told us she grew up in Scientology and joined the Sea Org — signing its billion-year contract — at only 15.

She eventually was moved to Scientology’s secretive international management base — known as Int Base or Gold Base — near Hemet, California, and became steward to Scientology leader David Miscavige and his wife Shelly. That put Valerie in the personal quarters of the Miscaviges, day and night, 365 days a year.

It was her personal knowledge of their private lives, she believed, that was the reason Scientology made it nearly impossible for her to leave her life at the base, and was the reason for the ensuing “Fair Game” slanderous attacks on her once she got away in her daring escape.

What, we asked her, was the private information she knew that Miscavige didn’t want the rest of the world to know?

— “That he drank. Every night. It kind of got worse as the Hole was forming in 2004. And I knew how much he drank. I gave him his meals, I made his bed. I woke him up in the morning. I knew everything about their private lives.”

— “Like that they maybe had sex once a year, if that. I worked for them for three years, and I recognized twice that they had had sex. And Shelly was just fucked up about it.”

— “Even in closed quarters he wasn’t showing her affection. I’m in the living room and I’m the only one standing there with them, and it’s Christmas, and there’s no warm embrace, there’s no kiss….She had a separate room. They had a bedroom, but she had a dressing room where she could unwind and smoke. and she would talk with me, about Dave. Sometimes for hours. She was jealous of Laurisse [Laurisse Henley-Smith, Miscavige’s ‘personal communicator,’ also known as ‘Lou’]. She would ask me, ‘Are they fucking? Can you find out?’ But they weren’t. It would be impossible for me not to know.”

— “The other thing Dave doesn’t want you to know: His extravagance and his finances. And his schedule — how much differently he spent his day than everyone around him…There were expensive trips to the ship. To Disney World. Or diving excursions, which the Sea Org paid for. I mean, the finances were incredible. The whole Tom Cruise 2004 birthday on the Freewinds. The Sea Org paid for all of that. They flew in chefs from Nobu. They flew chefs in from Tom’s favorite Paris restaurant. They ordered in lobsters. It was so extravagant.”

— About Shelly overseeing auditions of women to become Tom Cruise’s next girlfriend in 2004: “She thought it was ridiculous. She was just doing what Dave asked her to do. But it absolutely happened.”

— About the deteriorating state of the Miscavige marriage in the summer of 2004: “Shelly was getting sick of Dave’s lack of response to her, and of his arrogance and the way he was mistreating other people.” She was also perturbed by Miscavige’s all-consuming “bromance” with Cruise that summer. “Is it just me?” Shelly asked her, wondering if she was the only one put off by Miscavige’s obsession with Cruise.

— Things got even worse in 2005, to the point that Dave went to spend time in Los Angeles, and the two were apart, which was very unusual. Also, Valerie and others were “busted” to lower-level jobs and were questioned about Shelly. While Dave was gone, Shelly handed out some job assignments at the base in Dave’s absence, and also crated up his belongings for a renovation of their quarters. When Dave returned, he blew his stack. He then went back to LA, and Valerie confirmed something we’d heard from others: Shelly made a final attempt to reconcile with him, taking a car and driving to LA to see him. But she soon returned. Then, she was escorted from the base: “I saw her walk to the car, get in on the passenger side, and then drive away. It was two and a half months after I’d been busted,” Valerie told us.

In the lawsuit’s complaint, that scene is a bit more dramatic: “Jane Doe witnessed a dark-colored tinted vehicle pull up to the main building. Thereafter, unidentified men dragged Shelly Miscavige, who was crying and visibly distraught, out of the building and put her in the car. Shelly Miscavige has never been seen or heard from again.”

Some reflections ~
One of the hardest things we as a group have to grapple with is to make sense of things within the cult that we cannot make sense of.
Not only are things within the cult that do not make sense, but our devotion, believing in it all and even returning to it after Sea Org departure...none of it makes sense. It must even be MORE baffling for the NEVER IN who are Scn Watchers.
The coming sequence of Law suits will dig deep into the nooks and crannies and start to enlighten all of us in a way not previously perceived.
I think what I admire most about Brian Kent, his law firm and the affiliated law firms is that they have BACKBONE and SPINE. Many law firms over the time of all the horror stories being exposed did not have BACKBONE. Musical Chairs, SP Hole and other torture and misconduct was revealed with 2004 to 2014 and other than the Headleys, not one single Law firm stepped forward to take them on.
These Lawyers have MORAL FORCE. The Law suits are humanitarian in that they are opposing EVIL and work towards ending abuse and corruption. It takes a high confront of evil to oppose and take on Organised Criminality. These Law Firms are are especially are committed to stay the course.
It is much more difficult to take on and defeat an entity that is very organised.
The Sea Org and OSA are very ORGANISED.
Take the US Government. It tried for decades to take out the mob~ "Cosa Nostra" or Mafia. They did not succeed and even though mobsters shot each other down in the city of New York, the MOB
thrived even boomed in the 1980s. This, in spite of all FBI efforts and infiltration and all the assets of the US Government, which, when inter-agencies are involved are formidable.
Rudy Giuliani was the first prosecutor to use the CHANGED LAW. They made a new law called RICO/ Racketing Influenced Corrupt Organizations. The Mafia were so organized with exact Org Boards, titles, hats, zones of influence and performance with echelons of hierarchy. So the guy who ordered the hit is firewalled by 7 layers from the perpetrator and is seemingly untouchable as the SOURCE of the hit order. Al Capone killed or ordered to be killed 70+ people. They could not pin a single homicide on him, but eventually got him on INCOME TAX evasion ! (Elliot Ness) LOLOL
Back to the cult, whatever Scn cd've been or aimed to be, there is no question that it has evolved into a monstrosity, an entity who's purpose is to CRUSH the soul of dissident or critic or staff member that does not toe the line. The Intention to harm and destroy overrides any other purpose. For this reason, the birth of this Litigation era is joyous to the Ex Community and Scn watchers.

I happen to know first hand Hubbard's work was influential in the favorable end of the Cold War.

Yes, yes, we know. You personally did a great service to the free world. You told us in this thread (post #77) about how you gave someone a ride in your taxicab in the Boston area. The person *_said_* he was a top CIA spook. He proceeded to teach you the "secret handshake" and gave you the CIA's "secret decoder ring", so you used them to single-handedly end the Cold War. Using Hubbard's "Tech".

Rrriiiiiiggghhhtt.

...and I lost my sanity....

This explains it all. Clinging to this story makes me think you still have not recovered it.

EDIT: Forgive me if that was too mean.

Some probably think I'm too hard on CP, but from now on instead of trying to shut him up I think I'll just let him ramble on so that non-scientologists and lurkers here can see just how far removed from reality a person can become once having drunk deep of the kool-aid.
