Voltaire's Child
Fool on the Hill
Right, Mark, you can take a person out of the cult, but...
Someone needs to explain to Challenge (again) that
(Reverence of) Punditry is stupid. Critics do not get kha khan statuses.
If a critic happens to do something to which someone else takes exception or disagrees, then that person can discuss it freely. The people she names do not get a free pass anymore than you, or I or anyone else would. No one gets a free pass.
These other critics keep getting brought up as are my comments about Nibs. It would make a lot more sense if, say, the comment represented an opinion that it is never ok to find fault with anyone at all. But over and over, I see that some people can be talked about but others cannot be. This is one of the most dangerously foolish viewpoints I have ever seen on a critical forum. Yes, we're all equal, but some of us are more equal than others.
And this exchange is between people who live in a country that has the First Amendment!
I think anyone who thinks this way should ditch the cultic mindset where some people are beyond reproach- I left a cult that keep telling me that. I would think that other ex members would get it.
I left the cult over free speech. That's one of the many things for which they are criticized. They don't let anyone say anything about Hubbard, DM or anyone "in charge".
Now,on this thread I only said I knew Nibs last lifetime, didn't think much of him. I do not stoop to the kinds of comments made by those screaming the loudest about the various old guard critics named in this thread.
