Now it's in the Mainstream Media - Leah Remini dumps Scientology - NY Post

I don't see how the tweet could be about anyone but Remini. More importantly, even if it somehow wasn't (which I think there is a zero chance of), any minimally intelligent, minimally informed person would know that the tweet would be perceived by everyone as being about Remini.

I'll add that Kristie's tweet is the typically pathetic, non-confront, passive-aggressive thing many Scientologists do, thinking they are being oh so smart, and have plausible deniability, when in reality it makes them look like weak weasels.

Can any reasonable person read Kristies tweet and not conclude that Kristie is: (1) talking about Remini; (2) mean; and (3) a coward?

100% agreed.

I tweeted "Where is Shelly Miscavige? Not that you have the compassion to care." about two seconds before her people blocked me!

Tweeting "Where's Shelly" at kool aid drinkers has the potential making of a lulzy anonymous op. The problem is that enough people have to tweet the hashtag #wheresshelly for it to be trending. So, I propose designating a date and time for Anons to let loose Tweeting at Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Will Smith, Jenna Elfman, Juliette Lewis, and whatever cult shills there are on Twitter with "where's shelly" messages.

Time for some ultracoordinated motherfuckery!

Oh boy . . . . the endless drama.

I will really be happy when this Hegelian process of endless attack/counter-attack (thesis/antithesis) finally results in the new synthesis - NO Scientology! :happydance:

I know the Church of Scientology has always come back from what seemed near-certain demise in the past, but I think this current Internet exposure is no slow-building snowball.

I am just waiting (hoping, postulating, intending, praying, imagining, visualizing) for that point when a sort of "critical mass" is reached, and the Church of Scientology gives it last dramatic convulsion - as members flee left, right and center.

Who will flee first? Miscavige or the majority of the followers?

OK! Investigates: Inside Scoop On Why Leah Remini Quit Scientology And How She Planned Her Exit

Excerpt:

“She has been speaking to a number of ex-members for months about the best way to extract herself with the minimum amount of drama and damage—this has been a long played out and carefully orchestrated move on her behalf."

This puts an intriguing twist into something discussed over at Tony O's.

One of the indications he gave for her being out, was that her wikipedia article had recently been edited, removing references to her as a scilon, instead calling her a Catholic. It was hinted that she might have instigated that edit herself.

But there was a little more to it. The edit also credited her dad, George Remini, with being cousin to the George Remini who was a boss for the Gambinos. If it's true that she provided the content of that edit, and I'm not saying she did, but if... that puts an interesting "You do NOT want to **** with Leah!" sort of spin on the whole thing, doesn't it?

A coordinated date/time to Tweet #wheresshelly? Yes, please! Thanks, NoName - great idea.

During a casual convo earlier today, we kicked around the idea of opening a Twitter account (a la "BronxZooCobra" or "ElBloombito") and tweeting as Shelly Miscavige.

I think it has great potential to engage large numbers of people who'd like to help/support, but no one sitting around the kitchen table here has enough time to devote to the account's implementation/maintenance...and we're not witty enough, frankly.

Shelly could be tweeting 'on the run', or reminiscing about her marriage to David "Da Phuq" Miscavige, or commenting/gossiping about Kirstie/TC/JT/Leah Remini, or repeatedly tweeting, "Where Am I?!". Like I said, we're not witty, but those were a few scenarios bandied about.

This thread has been the high-point of a long time waiting for something to come 'round...
(sometimes a week is tooo loonngg...)

But hey now: given that most historical tactics aren't gonna work now for the CoF (that's for "F&*k", in case you thought I typo-ed) - wouldn't it be funny if now they actually publicly started kicking people out? Like Celebs...some alley should dig some up for the purpose! Can't believe she tweeted that...maybe they just shut down a Taco Bell in her area and she was just venting?!?!

And it damages their DA plans. Yeah, also someone who can play tough with the big boys. Thetans. Whatever.

It's a clever idea, but I would advise against it. If it turns out that harm has befallen her it could seem to be very bad taste - and you know something horrible did happen to her mum so that's not out of the realm of possibility. And if so, of course, it isn't a joking matter at all.

Also, if she's alive, Miscavige can also throw the full weight of their legal muscle behind her even if she is only a rubber stamp.

That's just my two cents, though. I'd be interested to hear what others think.

Blind Gossip on Leah Remini

Excerpt:
SOLVED! UPDATED!

[BlindGossip] We are pleased to announce another defection from this ridiculous group. She is not talking about it yet, but we can tell you that she is an actress, and that she was a member of the group for many years.

Her new full-time gig doesn’t require any press time this summer, so she is keeping a very low profile for the time being. She started getting paranoid that her phone conversations were being tapped and that her child/ren were being followed, so she quietly consulted with another former member of the group (who is also an entertainer and Mom concerned about the safety of her kid/s). After their talk, the actress got new phones and hired new bodyguards to protect herself and her child/ren.

We don’t know if she has talked to her best friend – who is still a member of the group – about her decision.

Excellent points as raised, PurpleRain - thanks!

Risks abound, undoubtedly, which is why such an undertaking would require input from those most familiar with the details/history of Co$ and its various 'players'.

Not sure 'legal muscle' can do much against an obvious parody account, but Miscavige would likely be dumb enough to attempt it.

If the Twitter account had a single obvious intention -- such as demanding Shelly Miscavige be produced for an interview -- then I think the risks of actual harm are lessened considerably. As I understand things, this woman has not been seen in public since 2007 -- and that's just unacceptable. If she is alive, demanding she be seen provides David Miscavige with an opportunity to prove himself truthful (icky as that sounds) while simultaneously providing a bit of relief to her friends/family/other interested parties.

If, on the other hand, Shelly Miscavige is in frail health or deceased, David Miscavige will be forced to provide an explanation. The last time he tried to 'explain' anything was with Ted Koppel on Nightline -- a performance roundly and soundly mocked as 'asshattery run amok' both then and now. He fears interviews - with good reason!

Again, it's just an idea kicked around in a free-wheeling discussion, posted here to prompt better, wiser thought(s).

Tommy Davis said he knows where she is. I don't know what it would take to subpena him.

Newbie here to offer my 2 cents on the Shelly/Twitter situation.

In my opinion, what we really need is a social media assault that focuses on content aggregation. Right now there is a lot of information, but it's all over the place. The general public is just starting to become aware of Shelly's disappearance, and their attention needs to be directed to key areas where relevant content has been centralised for greatest exposure and ease of obtainment. So, my advice would be the following:

1.) Yes to coordinated hashtags. But there also needs to be a main twitter account (something like "@WhereIsShelly" that concentrates on reminding people how long she's been missing (ex "Shelly's been missing for X days. Have you seen her?"), and can tweet links to new articles as they arise. As has already been stated, it's probably more trouble than it's worth to start a parody account. Moreover, that takes a lot of effort and involvement because you have to consistently witty!

2.) There also needs to be a facebook page. I think there already is one. But that page needs to cross-post with the twitter account, work hand in hand to be one entity.

3.) There should be a website linked with both the twitter and facebook account. shellymiscavige.com only has 3 links on it. Not sure who runs that, or if they'd be willing to put in the effort, but ideally the site should load up wordpress and act as a blog that publishes some slightly more long-format entries to whatever links the facebook and twitter accounts are sending out. None of us are ever going to be Tony Ortega, but that's not the goal. The goal is to summarise the article, perhaps provide one or two lines of commentary, and then shuffle the reader off to the real story.

4.) Not social media related, but I would suggest that there be an effort made to get some standarised material for future protests and pickets. If David Miscavige has to stare down footage of a sea of people holding the exact same image of his wife, his head will explode.

5.) Speaking of images, anybody who has any more to offer of Shelly, please do. That's probably one of the first things are looking for when they search her name on google. Pictures personalise things.
This probably all sounds really basic, but I wanted to throw it out there for anyone who is considering a campaign.

And now I will dissolve back into lurkdom!

All right, I'm going to start another thread for this. I will need people to cross post this to WWP, Reaching for the Tipping Point, OCMB, and the usual places. I'm only a member of ESMB, and I don't know if they will trust me enough if I register new and start posting about this Op over there.

Since I'm a French citizen, I think it would be poetic to do this on Sunday, July 14. I propose noon Greenwich Mean Time, which would be 8am in Baltimore.

We can start compiling a list of celeb twitter handles in the new thread.

Yes!

Would those who are on FB please suggest to Ms. Remini that she request in writing a complete copy of her entire "PC folder", too?

(The rulings to date in the DeCrescenzo case opine that such a request is reasonable, and if additional rulings/laws come to pass which broaden a former Co$-member's rights, it would likely stand her in good stead to have made the request at/near the time of her departure.)
