Dear Cof S,

I hope you are reading this because I need some honest communication with you. I am probably the most Pro Scientologist on Ex Scientology message boards.

I don’t want to see you beaten down. I want you to flourish to the ideals I thought you had when I got in.

I love the auditing and the training I personally got a lot out of it. I would even say it changed my life for the better. …In a big way

I did learn to study better form your study course. I have some steady persisting wins. I have gotten rid of compulsions and strange ideas; I am more successful in life. For that I thank you

I’ve seen friends get off drugs in Narconon. I think the purif is amazing

THEN WHY AM I OUT?

Because I can’t say what I am about to say to you without getting my head chopped off.

I am currently in contact with several friends who are declared. I know they are not SP’s. You are wrong. But if I said that to you then, I would either get my head chopped off, or I would spend days and weeks in ethics (time that I don’t have) Or I would deal with it in Sec Checks that would cost me money.

So I can’t communicate honestly with you.

I don’t approve of your Disconnection policy. At first I did agree. You can make any rules you like. It is your club. But if I get my brother, mother children and friends to join then if I quit, I lose them all??? That is harsh. That is evil and insidious, because it is a slow process. First you join, then you make friends, then you get a job with other scientologists, then if you disagree or leave or won’t disconnect from a declared SP, you lose your friends, family and job. That is horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You treat the Sea Org like slave labor.
I don’t buy soccer balls make by children in India working for 5 cents an hour and I won’t buy auditing from sea org working for less.

You treat children horribly and illegally:
You can get kids to believe anything, if Christianity can make them believe in a giant invisible man in the sky then…. enough said
They should reach the age of reason before committing to one billion years.

I have been all over the Internet reading about these atrocities AND THEY CAN’T ALL BE WRONG. Scientologists are very good with TIME FORM PLACE AND EVENT.

Even if only 10% ore true you need a major overhaul.

I have read many stories of David Miscavage regularly intimidating and beating people! What the F…? There are just too many stories not to believe at least some of them. This should never happen, not once.

I have seen him at events and he is scary. “YOU WILL BUY THESE BOOKS! “ I think that was the quote.

THOSE ARE MY GRIPES. I have a few more like the staff seeing how much money I have in my account so I can buy books for a politician who would never even read them. But that is smalltime. I know how to say NO.

Also what is up with “donations” for buildings that is so anti LRH. Enough said

All you have to do is
• Let people go who want to go
• Let them freely talk with their friends and family
• You can’t “declare” an SP. He either is or is not. You can put high heals on a poodle but that doesn’t make him a hooker.
• Let people out of the Sea Org easily
• Pay the ones who stay a decent wage. The funny thing is “I mean you” You will be old one day. The sea org may or may not take care of you. You know I am right.

I am your friend, your friend who doesn’t want you dead. I am your friend who wants an intervention. I want you to be fixed, and it is really possible.

I am like a peasant trying to get the king to see the errors in his ways…unlikely and possibly deadly. But the peasants can’t have an intervention on the king. But eventually it becomes a revolt.

I am a reasonable, easy going person, I am not angry, I am sad. You had a great thing and now you are ruining it.

There are many people on this message board who hate you. They will never be recovered. But if there is one person like me, then you know there are many more ready to blow.

I haven’t told my scientology friends that I am out, but trust me we do talk about prices, the Sec Checks, the better treatment of celebrities, The books being forced down our throats.

How much does it cost you to lose me? I k now you like to reverse the flow and tell me how I will lose my immortal soul, but it runs both ways.

If you just got back to servicing people in a way that made them satisfied, they would come back, they would refer friends.

“You can’t have one foot in and one foot out of Scientology” is wrong.
Being unreasonable is WRONG.

A building that will not yield to the wind will break.

Other things work. They work to different degrees for different things. There are many positive mental practices, some better than others. Even if (for arguments sake) Scientology is the best there are other things that can be helpful.

It is not black and white. If it is not Scientology it isn’t automatically electro shock or drugs. There is a grey area.


If you and I could talk honestly, if I could talk to my declared friends, if the Sea Org wasn’t treated like slaves I’d be back.

If when I came back I wouldn’t have ethics problems and Sec Checks, I would do so.

Maybe we will meet again after the reign of DM.

I'm not going back, unless all those things happen and i know they won't. I said that mostly for emphasis. I knwo there is no talking . I was really making a point to get them to see how no communication = no public.

Just for writing this I would spend $7000 in Sec Checks alone. Not a chance I would do that.

Heh.. 'reasonable' is badder than BO in Scientology! - It is one of the words Hubbard slighly 'scewered' the meaning of.. Was that KSW the first time? - Anyway, the idea was to validate being hostile, being a 'tiger'.. A good scientologist is supposed to be 'unreasonable'.. (incapable of reason?)

I don't want to dash your hopes.. But the state and condition Scientology is in is the result of Hubbards tech and philosophy. People who put value in the stated aims and goals of Scientology. A world without crime and insanity.. People who practised Scientology to become clear and OT. And thus be spiriitually free beings with superior intelligence and sense of justice.

But the state and condition Scientology is in is the result of their efforts!

What we see is the result of Hubbards 'programme' - The blueprint for that is in all the books, HCOB's and PL's.. (And all the LRH advices into the Guardian's Office/OSA and the Sea Org Exec levels that are confidential) - And being 'unreasonable' is pivotal in this..

Well.. Many years ago I tended to think like you.

But I realized that the idea was futile.. We must judge this 'machine' by what comes of it... The product if you like.. And the product is not our personal 'wins'.. Rather it's the political agenda promoted as 'clearing the planet'.

Nice thoughts. I in fact promote broadly scientology in the Freezone.

You missed out one thing that's important, the COS are religious bigots. Per policy doing scientology outside the COS is a " suppressive act". Further the Church has for decades attacked and litigated against scientologists who practice their religion outside the Church.

Efforts at reform have been going on for at least 12 years on the Net.
The " Pilot's" work is particularly impressive there. There are many stories of very brave and able people who tried to make things go right from Org posts,
with no hope of success. See for example the stories of "Scooter" and "Carmel" that are on this board.

Society is now applying justice actions to the COS from many directions. Nothing else has worked.

Hello Reasonable - Welcome, and thanks for posting.

I think I totally get all that you've said here - I have shared much of the sentiments you have expressed. I certainly understand the "I am not angry, I am sad" - I was "sad" for over a decade about what was, compared to what 'could have or should have been'.

I'm glad you're here, and for more reasons than one. I'm hoping you will stick around so you may get the support and truths available for the taking, to and for anyone who has been involved in Scn.

For me, ESMB and the friends I have made here, have helped me see that my goals and purposes in life were mine, and that the fulfillment of those goals and purposes weren't dependant on Scientology. I was as 'dedicated' a Scientologist as any Scio I knew, and I was for years - My experience in Scn 'saved my life' and 'gave me' a new life, and I was determined to help keep it there and make it available for my family, loved ones and others - I 'couldn't' and didn't want to let that go. I'll never deny what I have gained from Scn, but these days I have varying perspectives on the whole scene. I know that my hopes and dreams are my own, and that they aren't or weren't reliant on Scn nor the CofS - Facing up to letting go of the 'mock up' I had in regard to Scn and/or the CofS, has opened up a new world for me, and now (including given what I gained or took from Scn) I feel like the world is my oyster like it has never been before.

We've all had different experiences, and we all take are own different paths - All the best with yours, Reasonable.

Reasonable, have you looked at Ken Ogger's Scientology Reformer's Homepage? If not, check it out. There are many exes who feel that way. If these things were done, it would go a great deal of the way to bringing the Church to the point where many people might object to it on philosophical grounds, but the wouldn't quibble with it's right to exist.

What I learned, the long way, and the hard way, was that while the world IS largely a matter of shades of grey, the Church of Scientology forces a framework of either BLACK or WHITE in far too many areas.

For many years, I hoped that there might be some semblance of "intelligence" possible within the C of S, I held out for THAT hope, but in the end it was just more the same endless nonsense - rote, robotic and largely senseless - as I knew it would be all along. With the C of S it is all about BEHAVIOR. Do what your are supposed to do, and don't do what you aren't supposed to do, and all will be fine and well! In a nutshell, Scientology is mostly about "behavioral modification". Sad, but true. :confused2:
