No, not from what I've read so far.

I think it was "friendly fire" from ricochets off the
marble walls inside. Pure speculation. Close quarters
ricochets while a guy is wildly waving a sword at them.

It's kind of like the cinematic moment where a man of the cloth, "THE EXORCIST", shows up.

His religious kit however doesn't include a crucifix, rosary beads, bible and blessed holy water. A Scientology minister's kit contains a lie detector and soup cans.

So that he can interrogate all the Scientologists working there and blame someone for the enturbulation and cost to replace the blood-stained marble and furniture. After that person is declared SP, the org can then run IAS donation events so that all Scientologists eternities are secured.

Scientologists will thereafter engage in a massive letter-writing campaign to political leaders to stop the sale of swords to religious bigots.

It doesn't have to make sense. It's Scientology.

It's not unusual for cops to shoot each other while blazing away. In the firearms community, cops are notorious for being bad shots. Most only fire their guns at yearly qualifications.

When I lived in LA (1986-2006) it wasn't rare to see cars driving round with only one license plate, with some sort of "vanity plate" in the plate-holder acting like a bumper sticker. In this case, though, who knows.

In some states, only the rear plate is mandatory, and you can put what you want in the front. But this was a rear plate holder that was blank.
