Over a period of many years there have been countless court cases, media releases and publications exposing Human Rights violations and criminal activities on the part of the Church of Scientology, particularly its leader, David Miscavige. These include violations of the following articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Articles 1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25 and 30, fraud and extortion. Requests have been made for governmental investigations, however, there is no evidence that they have been successfully executed and their findings acted upon. Therefore, this petition is requesting the launching of a thorough investigation into the activities of this Church, and its leader, including making the findings public knowledge and prosecuting as appropriate.

Of course we`ve gotten used to the US Government doing nothing.
Let`s not do the same thing.

Sign the petition.
Takes two minutes.
And it sends a message that there are some who are prepared to do something
about scientology fraud and abuse.

Plus it gives Miscavige hemorrhoids.

It's a waste of time & effort. Graham Berry started a White House petition last year garnering over 6,000 signatures. The WH dismissed it without comment.

The purpose of the Obama Administration creating the petition site was a political scheme to give the people the impression he cared about their issues. No formal investigation has arisen from any of these WH petitions that I know of.

There are numerous other ways to get the word out on the cult than encourage people to sign a petition that will arrive dead on arrival. There are some things that have been proven do & do not work, yet you want to pretend that filing another petition will?

You might want to research why the earlier petition, that had 6,000+ signatures, was turned away by the Obama Administration, versus ignore that occurred, and encourage people to file a new petition.

But, if you want to beat a dead horse, and feel the Obama Administration has changed it's views since last year, go ahead & sign the petition. Frankly, I'd be looking for other avenues, that have worked in the past, to get the message out.

BTW, 700,000 Americans have signed a petition requesting the White House to secede from the US. What do you think are the chances that Obama will consider this?

Well I am not willing to just roll over and play dead yet, and it can't hurt to take a few minutes and sign the petition.

And these numerous other methods should be used but it would also be beneficial imo to invest 3 minutes of our lives to sign the petition. It's not an either/or proposition.

Regardless of whether the WH acts on the petition or not there are benefits that a petition campaign has. The previous petition campaign was successful in raising awareness in many people of certain issues addressed within the petition through media attention, social media promotions, and other methods.

Petitions in themselves are not going to obtain justice, not when we're going up against corruption within the government, but they can be a powerful tool used in conjunction with other methods.
