All of this mutual "Scio is so nutty" never-ending back-slapping that you guys indulge in is no better than public masturbating.

Get a life.

"Scio is so nutty...": Fantastic idea for a new feature on the Stupid Thread. Thanks! LOL

"Get a life": I tried that before. In fact, when I was a Scientologist like yourself, I got tens of thousands of lives. We called them "BTs". How's that working out for you?

I am kinda excited to try out that new "Scio is so nutty..." idea. Can I try one here?

Scientology is so nutty....that Scientologists (who spend their life
chasing dead space aliens
) condescendingly tell people who weren't fooled
into believing they are infested with 75 million year old aliens to "get a life".

Yeah, okay, I feel good about it now. lol

wow Leon personal insults to posters on a thread you deemed so unimportant is well I gotta say it "nutty" and off topic
you should start a topic about backslapping and masturbating in public instead of just trying but failing to derail this thread ?:idea2:

Scio is so nutty!

True story; some years back, I flew across the pond to meet up with some folks who I became acquainted with, here at ESMB. Exes. At some time before I left, I was sent an e-mail by a very outspoken ex, telling me that one specific person was still a scientologist. Nah, it can't be, I thought. We spent a good deal of time talking on the phone, exchanging e-mails and so on. For around 6 months, at least.

Flash forward to the two of us talking at their home. I don't recall what the conversation was about, just talking. This much I do remember: During our chat, I said something like "Yeah". Suddenly they took the conversation into a course on comm cycles. This went on and on and on. After what seemed like forever (maybe 15-20 minutes), I was losing it. "I said Yeah!" Now my voice was getting louder. "I heard what you said, when we were talking, and said Yeah! I heard you, and acknowledged it!" This wasn't enough to stop them from flogging the dead horse even further. I couldn't take it anymore. I knew what I had to do. There was only one way out. I looked them in the eyes, made a happy face, and exclaimed: Got it! They smiled at me, and said: Now don't you feel better? NO! I shouted.

One of your suggestions will get you arrested. One won't.

Perhaps you need to research this. Try it in Saudi Arabia, and post results.

Actually, maybe you have a point. Let me outline all of the parts of the 'tech' we couldn't do without.

I'd like to hear some other opnions on whether the Matrix is a good analogy on how
Scios see the world around them ?
:

I saw a friend a few weeks after he did OT3 and read the Xenu story. I asked him "Did you learn the secrets of the universe?" and he said to me literally almost word for word. "It is like taking the red pill and going into the Matrix."

Many religions and philosophies have that Matrix philosophy.

Christians believe that this life is basically an illusion and that the real world in the Spiritual world. Many reincarnation based philosophies also have a Matrix like ideal.

Basically if you think that you are a spirit trapped in a body or that you are more than your body, and the end game is to get out and achieve immortality then there you have it... The Matrix.

There are many philosophies where there is a "We are going to save you" idea is Matrix like.

That is why that movie is so popular it appeals to a popular belief that there is much more to this life than it appears.

I have thought that for a longtime since i first saw the movie, after my wife and walked out
of the movie we both had a sort oh shit moment that was Scientology:coolwink:

I know that The Matrix is a very popular movie among Scilontologists. They identify with it very much.

The main error of the matrix as an illusion that one is "in" or "out" of is that it views the matrix as something separate to the individual.

You, yourself, YOU , are the universe that you are in. You being who you are pretending to be all day long. It is not some "universe" separate to you and that you are "in", like you're in a box or something. It's just your insistence on being who you reckon you are.

That's what's wrong with the matrix analogy. And yes, many Scientologists have it wrong.

I think you miss the point of the thread Leon, I'm not saying it is right or wrong, just that it's a way to understand the way
Scio's view the world and can and do justify the crazy shit they do, same point that the video makes.

As far as YOUR take on YOU and universes etc, an entirely different subject and topic, a philosophical conversation and not one
I would start by giving you some sort of altitude you presume to have, I wonder if you even realise how presumptuous and
annoying that is ?

I had gone into AOLA, after "the matrix" came out....(and I assumed many staff had seen it.) These was a "buzz" about the movie....but more like....."knowing smiles..." and zipped lips, about it...

The "buzz" was that it had "captured the idea of the Cult...." Though what that was...I don't know.

I had thought about it....and my take was that in the movie....they have all those human bodies in metal machines...all hooked up to be fed...and kept alive...but not "awake." And being used as a energy source...or "batteries."

Taking that scene...and thinking about the Cult.....I thought of the LRH "tin can" reference.

Someplace....Hubbard talks about a "thetan" being put into a "tin can" and being used as an energy source....

Looking back on this today....Hubbard...does seem to have come up with all these ideas about how "thetans" were trapped.....abused....and abused others...

OT 3....seems to be the climax of this "idea" that thetans were trapped....and transported to Earth...

I don't think the Cult / Hubbard never really understood what a spiritual being is....and minimized them to a great extent...

Edited: also hit on the Hubbard's / Cult's idea of "bodies in pawn...."

Nah. Not at all.

Just like atheists, Christians believe this is the only life they have and that what they (we) do here and now counts and is the only opportunity we have to do the right thing. There is no reincarnation, no second chance. This is the real thing, this is it. Do it right - there's no 'I'll just die and come back and do it over.'

There are extremists in every religion. I know Christians who pray for every stupid little thing.

But at the end of the day, it's our personal choice to do the right thing, all the time. Our minds are meant to be used.

Scientology standard recipe for "Presumptuous Pound of Poop"

Empty 5 ounces of unfiltered Certainty into standard sized serving bowl.

Add 4 ounces of Altitude and stir vigorously.

Sprinkle in 3 ounces of Ethics Presence.

Dice and add 2.5 ounces of Ethereal Arrogance

Top off with 1.5 ounces of Condescending Impatience.

Serve by having guests gather around serving bowl with their individual spoons.

If no guests find it appetizing that particular day, flush bowl, wait until next day, repeat recipe and try again.

very true, but also the general population do as well, as it is a hit movie or series of movies, much like Stars Wars.

Very sublime.

Hubbard's matrix version, stolen from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_Cave is but a altered version of the Allegory of the cave. Hubbard's version is fish swimming in a pond and being controlled by shadows because of "engrams" or pain the fish received in the past. Very clever of Hubbard to twist the real education taught by Plato.

Scientologists think they are being unplugged from the evils of society, the pyschs, Xemu, hypnosis, engrams, secondaries and locks, etc. All explained (or evaluated or what to think) by Hubbard, and yet every new person who enters scientology is being plugged into a machine, or org board devised by Hubbard, called scientology.

This allogery of the cave vid (hey, it's even done in clay, that should make the scientologists happy as far as doing a clay demo, LOL) perfectly explains exscientologists trying to communicate to those members who are still chained to hubbards teachings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69F7GhASOdM

Influence :The themes and imagery of Plato's cave have appeared throughout Western thought and culture. Some examples include:

  • Evolutionary biologist Jeremy Griffith's book A Species In Denial includes the chapter Deciphering Plato’s Cave Allegory.[SUP][9][/SUP]

One of the characteristics of psychosis is mistaking yourself for the world you are in, or to put it another way, projecting your own prejudices onto your interpretation of the world.

Scientology beliefs help normal people behave abnormally.

The idea that reality is a dream is common in religion. Even the communists used it as a metaphor - "sleepers wake!"

The idea of the Matrix came out of a Dr.Who Episode called the deadly assassin (with Tom Baker) but it was fashioned along more eastern lines.
