Thanks for posting that. Jen, a new reporter on this ongoing story, is just getting a a discussion going and a feel for what the public there thinks... Few here would know how to respond to her request, but I will tweet her back on it.

In an effort to get some attention from ESMB on this matter, below is a summary of the ongoing issues about the intended future use of this controversial property owned by Scientology's Social Betterment Development Int, targeted by the cult as the home for a Narconon "Group Him"

It's been nearly 2 months now since we first heard that Social Betterment Properties Int was going a different route in trying to get a zoning change on their $4.5M property purchased down the road from Camp David, a change that is not normally made on a Resource Conservation zoned land. In order to get the use changed for a "Group Home" ( before even attempting to get a facility or Group home treatment license for substance abuse facility there ) their legal advisers had them apply and get provisionally approved for an entry on the county historic places register, which would then allow SBPI to then appeal to the zoning board and receive an allowed change for use as a group home. Both of these were approved in 2013 before anyone outside their little secret circle even knew what they were doing. Of course the public was unaware, especially that SBPI was planning a Narconon "Group Home "

Before the first meeting on April 7th, where the final step for approval was to be made by the County Council that the property met the reqs for a place on the county register of historic places, a local reporter found a thread I started in Feb 2014 on Reaching For The Tipping Point about Trout Run property purchase, being marketed as a Narconon DC. The reporter tried to contact me but I was unavailable that week and so she wrote a story based upon what she was able to see at the forum and on the internet about Narconon, and mentioned 3 deaths and a couple of lawsuits... and that SBPI is a Scientology front group and the plan was for a Narconon.

IN that thread, I posted about my attempts in getting no where in obtaining documents Narconon would have already filed for a facility license with the state, if they were planning to do so. I was repeatedly told that no application had been submitted.

I figured that this was due to the fact that the Narconon program did not meet the criteria MD sets for running a legit program. What I didn't know is that SBPI was going around the back door on this Historic Registry matter, to get the property allowed for the Group Home use first, and as I later found out that their plan was to go under a different licensing, a mental health group home residential treatment program, possibly as an educational model as opposed to real drug treatment program

Anyway, that news article started up a storm of upset in the community, because no one wanted a Scientology program there. Unfortunately, the issue before the council was just about whether the property was historic or not to get on the registry. The council was inundated with emails, faxes and letters after the article cam up through the April 7th hearing. So much information and concern at that meeting, as discussed in a previous thread here on the matter, caused the council twice to postpone deciding... -- Thread started 4th April 2015: New Narconon Site in Maryland. Hearing Tuesday.
http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?38967-New-Narconon-Site-in-Maryland-Hearing-Tuesday

At the last meeting on April 21st, the council closed the matter so no more information or public comment could be sent in from anywhere or anyone. The board is to study what came in from all sides and then be prepared to vote. June 6th is the date they vote, presumably last meeting where this item of 'is the property historic enough for the county registry? Yes/No' council vote. If approved, our next move is at the state licensing level.

Tony Ortega posted an article about John Coale and Greta and what they are up to in MD and with who and it's clear that the cult has been working overtime on the networking for some time now with John and Sylvia Stanard of DC org ( good friends of Coale) and Yvonne Rodgers of NN EUS being the ones responsible for helping pull this deal off.

So this is a very important matter as it's dealing with the capitol area... with several steps that have to be conquered locally and at state level in Maryland, a situation that has a good amount of opposition from the community. That said, politics and who knows who is a big part of the church strategy ( HCO PL Confidential: Targets, Defense http://www.suppressiveperson.org/sp/archives/1198

Trout Run Scientology affiliates plan recovery center at historic retreat
By Bethany Rodgers and Sylvia Carignan
Posted on Apr 4, 2015

Owners of the storied Trout Run property are seeking a county historical designation so they can convert the Thurmont retreat into a substance abuse center affiliated with the Church of Scientology.

The 40-acre camp whose stream was once fished by President Herbert Hoover was sold in 2013 to a Los Angeles-based property holdings group. The property’s new owners are looking to renovate the rustic Catoctin Mountain lodges for the opening of a drug treatment center run by the Narconon program. [..]

HCOPL: Targets, Defense -February 16, 1969. Excerpt reminder of Hubbard's mandates:

TARGETS

The vital targets on which we must invest most of our time are:

T1. Depopularizing the enemy to a point of total obliteration.

T2. Taking over the control or allegiance of the heads or proprietors of all news media.

T3. Taking over the control or allegiance of key political figures.

T4. Taking over the control or allegiance of those who monitor international finance and shifting them to a less precarious finance standard.

T5. Generally revitalizing the societies in which we are operating.

T6. Winning overwhelming public support.

T7. Use all other similar groups as allies.

These, of course, are very long range targets. But it is what must be done to continue the longevity of our organizations.

Our only justification for doing these things is that Scientology is the only game where everyone wins.

Your support is needed to stop these targets set for Maryland and DC

Thank you.
