Yesterday, I went to the Riverside City Hall to inquire about why the Board of Sups was canceled. I went up to the fifth floor and spoke to the attendant there.
I was told that the supervisors were in Sacramento for a meeting, but she did not elaborate as to why. I asked if by any chance Bob Buster was around and she said YES ! Imagine that, our quorum of four has to be in Sacremento for a meeting important enough to cancel a regularly scheduled meeting, but Bob Buster stays behind ? I really wonder why ?
I tried to meet with Bob, but he was gone to lunch.
I left a one page document to the receptionist to pass on to all five supervisors, that should thoroughly SHAME the four that voted for Ordinance 884.
Then, I went to see Julia Glick at the Press Enterprise who didn't know why the meeting was canceled. She said it occasionally happens that they "go dark", although in 2008 it only happened during the summer recess. I also gave her a copy of that document.
