Sci Contradictions - Tell me Your Favorite!

Scientology asserting itself as a science of all sciences (without ever offering any formal scientific literature proving such). And when that failed, Scientology asserting itself as a religion which didn't need to prove that it had 100% positive results, yet still used the word "science" in its books, lectures and issues and still asserted it had 100% workability (as you would expect from an exact science).

I remember when the "religion" stuff started back in the 70s, or at least was rolled out to our mission. It was all done for money, to dodge taxes. Make it more attractive to our "parishoners" to "donate." Then some got in trouble, because they received services for their "donations." And of course, the cult was fighting the IRS back then too. It was all a scam.

My favorite contradiction? "The work was free. Keep it so." That's at the end of the psuedo-Buddhist "poem" that was released back then, for those of you who don't know the reference. What a load of crap!

I think one of the biggest contradictions is the idea that the cult helps people to be able to 'confront' more, be more 'self-determined', 'at cause', etc, versus the idea that they must censor members access to the internet, all forms of media, ex members, critics, and anything or anybody that might not be ravingly for them.

And of course the biggie; the idea that even being exposed to OT III info has some kind of danger involved, despite the fact that multitudes have read it verbatim with no ill effects.

While saying members are becoming more 'at cause' they operate like they are utterly vulnerable to being effected by anything other than cult-approved propaganda

The leadership of course knows that the phony reality bubble they try to keep people in can be popped by the slightest exposure to the facts about the cult.

The "First Policy of the Church". Maintain friendly relations with the environment and public.

Oops. Couldn't even begin to list all the contradictions to that one.

I just have to remember all the other favorites I used to use to explain away all the stupidity I would see come down from managament.

"ARC breaks bring about and restimulate a desire to get even. An ARC broken person attacks."

Oh no, I meant to say only missed witholds cause those reactions.

Any misquotes I have you'll have to excuse. I got rid of all my stuff, and now I'm driving around in a truck and don't have any room even if I wanted any.

One day, I tossed all mine into a dumpster.

Good place for em.

Oh yeah, another one is:

The exact truth will As-Is something, so if Scientology is the truth it wouldn't be there. It has to have lies to persist. So LRH was a liar.

Damn, logic sucks.

My favorite: Ron ranting about how bad "Authorities" in anything are, then becoming (as well as Scn and DM) the only authority on anything/everything everywhere. :duh:

Hey I like that one that's good

The most recent one for me was the AOSH ANZO public MAA saying the real cause of Rons death ( a stroke) has never been hidden from Scientologists. :duh:

How about "You're responsible for your condition" but a hop skip and a jump later it's "who's the SP on your lines?"

Outflow = inflow...I guess the product the church is busy outflowing is St. Hill sized orgs now. Oh yeah, that's another inflow.

"When children become unimportant to a society, that society has forfeited its future." L. Ron Hubbard

"The GE is the family man...urges toward families and so forth are not thetan urges at all, they’re the GE...Families are not good groups; they’re bad groups."
LRH, From the taped lecture “Flows: Patterns of Interaction” 10 December 1952

How's that one?

The idea that you should protect your ARC. That it is a valuable commodity, and that in this universe it can be very dangerous indeed to be without it. This was an early espousment by LRH. Later the mgmt broke everyone's in the name of STATS...it became irrelevant. .

Never accept a report on somebody without facing the accused with the accuser (and there's more to that one I forget) - compared with the free reign of KR's frequently written with other intentions. I began to not even read KR's because they usually contained lies, and got sick of trying to defend myself or others from those intentions.
