Those who were Co$ members in the 80's/90's may recall seeing this:

Was this played inside Co$ buildings for members and/or people who expressed interest in joining?

This couldn't have been from the 60s or 70s because it has the Freewinds in it at the 2:17 mark. The Freewinds didn't begin until around 1987, give or take a year.

But thanks for sharing this. It is still historical.

It's later than that, copyrighted 1996. I did the Purif with one guy in this movie, in 1995. And yes, this was designed to be the very first thing that a "new public" would see after coming into the org.

Good eye! Thanks for the quick info - I still had time to edit.

Q

This film is pure comedy gold, right around the 17:00 mark they try to explain what auditing is but never do,. Instead they break out the meaningless charts, discuss IQ, then out of the blue go off on the evil government controlled psychiatrists.

OK, the way to happiness booklet was first published in 1981 by Regent House, Los Angeles as a 48-page paper-covered booklet ( ISBN 0-9605930-0-4)

But the opening was from the videogame asteroids, right? :hysterical:

"If you leave this room after seeing this film and walk out and never mention Scientology again, you are perfectly free to do so.
It would be stupid. But you can do it. You can also dive off a bridge or blow your brains out. That is your choice
.

Stay classy Scientology

The presenter in the video, Larry Anderson, demanded his money back from the church a few years ago. The Tampa Bay Times did a piece on it you can read i here. http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/larry-anderson-star-of-scientologys-orientation-film-wants-his-money-back/1067720

everything in scientology looks and sounds like it is thirty years old, even if it was filmed yesterday;)

I remember this film. I didn't see it until after I had already joined staff. Seems really stilted and fake, now, and even back then it was sort of like a bad infomercial. Then again, back then, the Brady Bunch was still on, and that stilted unreality was common on TV. Realism didn't start to infiltrate TV until the advent of shows in the mid-90's. If I saw something like this, now, and I was "raw meat", I'd probably run for the hills. Back then, though... ?

"to assist you to avail yourself of it." Wow what perfect grammar. KTL - FLUNK - LOL

When this stupid film came out they made EVERYONE watch it and sign a stupid form attesting to the fact that you had watched it.

I remember hearing that line at the end and cringing big time knowing that this was what they wanted brand spanking new people to see.

SERVICE the existing field for all it's worth and get new people in... well, I guess that didn't work out too well. So they came up with a new international strategy: Bilk the existing field for all it's worth and forget about new people cause we know nobody is going to walk in our doors any more unless they are internet clueless (which means they haven't got a dime for us to do part #1 of our new strategy - so F'em"

Interesting - 1983 - only had 27,000 scilons come to the event. I guess Davey had declared a few too many SPs that year...

Oh this vid is just priceless. "On source orgs boom" - "on source orgs are the size of old St Hill". Yeah - right on Marc! So how come there's not a single St Hill size Class V org today? What is it that RTC does?

DM's right - you are all a bunch of SPs. After 30 years you can't even make 1 measly class V org the size that old Blowhard did 50 years ago. Now that's what I call straight up and vertical - FAIL!

Congratulations on your COMPETENCE.

I remember watching that video and having to chinese school that strategy for weeks. :omg:

This film is another big Scn. fail. David introduced it as something that would make people into Scilons. Even quoting that in the, um Bridge or Org Board can't remember, Orientation (the name of the silly film) came BEFORE Understanding. Therefore people must be orientated to scn. before they could understand scn.

The best way to do that was have them watch that stupid movie. It must have came out 1996 during a birthday game event, that's when I remember seeing it for first time.

It was a big stat for our Div. 6. They had to keep the number of people who watched Orientation increasing each week. Staff counted in the stat so we HAD to watch it once each week and try to get any public, no matter how many times they had seen it, to get to watch it to. We had a regular movie night and had popcorn to entice every one to watch it again and again.

This film was suppose to BOOM orgs and missions. Of course it didn't and now it's not even shown in the cult because the narrator was been declared.

Typical scn. -- come out with some GREAT thing that will put Scn. on the map and make millions and millions of new scilons. Then the great thing just goes away not to be heard of again.
