Education levels in Haiti are low. Haiti’s literacy rate of about 53% (55% for males and 51% for females) is below the 90% average literacy rate for Latin American and Caribbean countries. The country faces shortages in educational supplies and qualified teachers, and the rural population remains underrepresented in the country’s classrooms. The 2010 Haiti earthquake destroyed educational facilities.

This is the weakness the cult can exploit. Private schools in Haiti account for 80% of total enrollments and serve the majority of Haitian students.

There are three main types of schools that make up the private sector. The first and largest type of private school is for-profit private schools run by entrepreneurs. These schools have very few if any books, unqualified teachers and school directors. They are popularly known as “écoles borlettes,” which translates to “lottery schools,” because “only by chance do the children learn anything."

The second type of private school is those that are run by religious organizations such as Catholic and Evangelical churches, as well as some nonsectarian schools. Some of these schools offer a better quality of education than for-profit schools, but they often have risky conditions and staff with no professional capabilities.

The final type of private school composes of “community schools,” which are financed by whatever funds a local community can mobilize. They tend to be of very poor quality, worse than for-profit schools, but they charge very low fees. Only a handful of private schools in Haiti, mostly clustered around the capital city, Port-au-Prince, and only accessible to the rich (except for limited scholarship funds), offer education with relatively high quality standards. Furthermore, three-fourths of all private schools operate with no certification or license from the Ministry of Education. This literally means that anyone can open a school at any level of education, recruit students and hire teachers without having to meet any minimum standards.

According to the 2003 school survey, 5% of schools are housed in a church or an open-air shaded area.

58% do not have toilets and 23 % have no running water.

Only 36% of schools have libraries.

The majority of workers, about 80% do not meet the existing criteria for the selection of training programs or are not accepted in these programs because of the lack of space in professional schools.

Only 6 out of every 1,000 workers in the labor market have a diploma or certificate in a technical or professional field.

15% of teachers at the elementary level have basic teaching qualifications, including university degrees. Nearly 25% have not attended secondary school.

More than half of the teachers lack the adequate training or had no training at all.

Many teachers ended up leaving their profession for alternative better paying jobs instead, due to the lack of sufficient government funding as they are either given a meager salary or are not even paid at all.

If the cult sends books, they will probably be used for fuel.

I met Susi Tschupp at Flag in the 1980s when we were in the SO training on NOTs. IIRC, she was SO somewhere in Europe (DK?), and trained as a NOTs C/S. I did not know her as an educator.

BTs WITH MISUNDERSTOOD WORDS​

I have discovered that BTs can have misunderstood words too!

The body’s ear might hear one thing and the BT might hear something else entirely, direct.

This results in Mis-U sounds and oral words. The BTs don’t know what the person is saying, nor do they know what is being said to the person, due to these Mis-Us. And the person gets caught
in the middle of this flow channel, experiencing the reaction to the BT’s Mis-U. The usual reaction of the BTs is just to withdraw.

BTs can get Mis-Us from reading matter, foreign languages, and I have found BTs that don’t speak English. Where it really goes wild is in auditing, where the BT has a Mis-U on the auditing command or question. They would then answer the auditing question wrong to themselves, causing a case hang up right there.

There is also a basic consideration that the Dead would not understand anything anyway.

This phenomenon of BT’s Mis-Us explains why some try to communicate with pictures.

As a rundown you would take these up by categories and fully handle them as follows. But this as a rundown comes later on in NED for OTs.

1. Clear with the Pre-OT the idea of communicating with BTs by concept, not with words. The Pre-OT may have to learn this trick of communicating conceptually. Clear the words “concept”, “idea”, “thought”, “spoken words”, “written words”, “picture”. Then clear the idea of communicating conceptually. You may have to do a little drill with the person by getting him/her to think a simple thought, such as “It’s a nice day”, without verbalizing it or thinking in words or pictures. You could have the person think the thought conceptually, then think it with words, then conceptually, then with words.Or even think the thought while saying different words or gobble-dy-gook. Don’t overdo this, it is just to get the Pre-OT to a point where he can communicate to a BT conceptually.

2. Assess through these categories until you get a read:

“A BT with a Mis-U..........

in spoken words?
in reading matter?
in entertainment?
in study?
in English?
in foreign languages?
symbol?
sound?

3. Have the Pre-OT locate where the BT is in relationship to the body.

4. Blow the BT by usual NED for OTs techniques (What? Who?), remembering that the PreOT must ask these questions (and receive the answers to them) conceptually, so as to avoid Mis-U words in this communication.

This discovery shows the importance of clearing words used in auditing questions and commands, and the importance of clearing Mis-U words in general. And of course the fact that these Mis-Us may be a BT’s Mis-Us rather than the person’s own Mis-Us, will dispel any mystery about why one can run into Mis-U word phenomena when one knows the word himself. But don’t let this make you any less alert for words the Pre-OT may have misunderstood in auditing questions or commands, and be sure to clear these.

Some Haitian orphans will unfortunately become recruit bait for the Super Power project and the SO planet-wide. Even the true believers "know" that joining the SO is "greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics." If the Scientologists can get to them when they're this young, their long term personnel problems are largely solved.

On the other hand, in following even an evil intention, good work can be done. To show how good they are, the Scientologists have to do some good. Despite Hubbard in his time denying any do-gooderism, Scientologists should definitely be acknowledged for the good they have to do.

This just reminds me of the PR stunt that COS did in the early 80s. They went to MacLaren Children's Home in LA and set up cameras etc on the grounds. The pics showed the Hall
in the background. Then they presented themselves with a placque extolling the good works that they had done for the children. The truth was that they were not known at MacLaren.
They had never been in the Hall. They had never done any thing at all at MacLaren. The workers there, ( my BFF was one of them) were highly upset when the promo appeared, touting
the 'good works' of COS for the poor children at MacLaren.

Save the child and you save the nation.

If, in the course of the next fifteen years, Scientologists were to specialize in the group processing of children, it might well follow that all of the goals of Scientology would thereby be realized. Thus, by processing children between the ages of six and ten, we would achieve in fifteen years a sanity and alertness never before obtained in that portion of the populace between the ages of 21 and 26, the age bracket which contains the energy and influence most strikingly felt by a civilization.

Child Scientology could very well be, in terms of practice, the most important single field of endeavor in the science. So used, without other addresses or assistances, Scientology might well bring about the condition of world peace—even if only by eradicating, through the restoration of sanity, the enthusiasm of youth for the sham glory of war. Therefore, we address here a subject which is broader than “what will I do to cure Johnnie’s sneezes.” Whether or not we are interested in those sneezes, whether or not we have tolerance or intolerance for children, whether or not we care to
give time to the problems of child adjustment and sanity, each of us who has a vested interest in the continuation of Earth and of Man should be willing to invest some of his industry in the investigation and application of the group processing of children. Hence, this article is written, not to those who are interested in children, not to those who have family problems, not even to those whose duty it is to instruct children, but to anyone interested in the goals of Scientology.

In order to utilize Scientology in the attainment of the goal of a sane stratum of the populace, do you need special training? No, not beyond the contents of this article and a knowledge of the book Self Analysis in Scientology, a simple text.

What passport do you need to help children? None.

What recommendations, papers, figures, historical documents, statistics, and other buffoonery do you need to assist children? None.

Is there any lack of groups of children? No. Where are groups of children to be found? In schools, in hospitals, in orphan asylums, in children’s societies, in boy and girl organizations such as the Boy Scouts, in the YMCA’s, in Sunday Schools, and anywhere that interested people forward the battle to prepare the child of today to become the sane adult of tomorrow. Theirs has been a gallant struggle in the face of almost insuperable odds. It is time these people had some help.

Historically, child therapy has been as difficult as it is now simple.

Let us be very blunt—we are not interested in the problems of the child’s mind. In Scientology, we are no longer concerned with the inopportune and conceited short-circuit between epistemology and the human brain which has resulted in the “science” of psychotherapy. The Scientologist practicing with groups of children should disabuse anyone in authority of any lingering thought that the Scientologist might be using psychotherapy. The concern of psychotherapy is with the thinking processes of the human brain. The concern of the Scientologist is purely with the beingness of the child, which is to say his spirit, his potentialities, and his happiness. A Scientologist working with children, who permits himself to be led into arguments concerning psychotherapy is permitting to exist and be part of the argument the erroneous concept that gains in learning and behavior are attainable through a rearrangement, by direct address, of the physical habits or fears of the child.

It is possible to reform a child’s attitude toward existence by working with his mind. The best results in the field of psychotherapy were obtained by Dianetics, but even prior to Dianetics, many child psychotherapists had obtained considerably improved attitudes and behavior on the part of children by directly addressing the individual child and forming with the child a personal friendship which opened the child’s interest sufficiently to permit an awareness of the existing conditions of present time. This was possible because the child’s awareness of present time could be suppressed by incidents which, having force and stress contained in them, sought to represent in themselves that they were present time. But this does not say that the optimum results are obtainable by this process of addressing the past in order to heal the present. Psychotherapy could be said to be a series of processes by which the past is addressed to remedy the present or by which physical matter, such as the human brain, is rearranged (as in a prefrontal lobotomy) in order to inhibit odious conduct in present time. The 500 or 600 percent gains obtainable by the application of Child Scientology to groups of children are not obtainable by addressing the past to remedy the present.

Scientology increases the beingness and potentialities of beingness of the child in present time in order to secure the capabilities of the child in the future. [...]
