Picked up this morning on WWP.

It's official. Scientology is NOT a charity in the UK or, at least, in England (Scotland has its own Charities Office).

" It remains the view of the Charity Commission that the Church of Scientology is not
established for charitable purposes or for the public benefit and is therefore ineligible for
registration as a charity under the Charities Act 1993. The Commission maintain the same
view about the Church of Scientology Religious Education College Inc. The Decision of
the Commission made in 1999 remains valid. Please find enclosed a full copy of the
decision. "

Moreover the CC now has Crown authority ie, it lays down the law and no appeal to any higher authority is possible.

WOOT!!! :happydance:

This is excellent progress!

It's been true since 1999 (and before then too) but the situation gets fuzzy when they get tax exemption illegally at a local level. A clear and fixed judgment like this is worth its weight in body thetans.

The clearing of the United Kingdom is coming closer.

Sadly, there will be operatives in the cult that think they can trick, lie and destroy their way back onto the exempt charities list.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Thank goodness those days are over.

Sorry, I forgot the link to the WWP thread:

I think the 2011 Act has got more teeth than the previous one.

It is also good to have the situation spelled out black on white.

Of course the UK mob claim they are a branch of some "charity" in South Australia. This might be useful there as well.

I wonder how British scis channel their contributions back to the Little Master and if they claim tax relief somewhere.

Church of Scientology Religious Education College Inc (COSRECI) is the outfit that trades out of a home address in suburban Adelaide in Australia. That home has been owned by a greek family for generations who had never heard of scientology. See 2010 news article.

The COSRECI funnelled the takings of several European countries' Co$ syndicates through the lax charities law of South Australia for decades. It appears those days are also over.

Should we let the Adelaide tax office know?
